FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL

The vehicle was bought in CA and hasn't had any issues till about after 3-4 yrs later. 1) Adaptive cruise control / emergency braking system / forward collision notification will occassionally state "not availble/unavailable" or "visibility" is not available and to clean windshield, but the windshield is not dirty or obstructing the camera. 2) The fuel emission system has had several diagnostic codes referring to the gas gap or fuel sensors. Vehicle is boggs down/loses power and starts ideling roughly and acts like it wants to shutdown and has shutdown. I've had to get vehicle towed twice for this issue. Replaced gas gap and still had issues. Then they went away for a few months, but now I am getting a diagnotic code stating that the fuel tank gas sensor is causing the check engine light.

2025 Jeep Gladiator Atlanta, GA Crash

BACK OVER PREVENTION: WARNINGS

2025 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon X. I have experienced two separate incidents in less than a month where the vehicle accelerated suddenly and violently, while attempting to park in my garage. Both incidents resulted to significant damage to a parked vehicle, and the building structure. Both incidents were completely random and unexpected. I assumed the first on was caused by something I did. I know with 100% certainty, that the second was not. My research indicate this might be related to a faulty Hill Start Assist control module. Apparently when the Jeep Gladiator is on a slight incline (which it was in both incidents) the Hill Assist locks the breaks, which can release suddenly when the accelerator is pressed. This seems to be exactly what happened, and the sudden acceleration was violent. This is an extremely dangerous issue that needs through investigation.

LANE DEPARTURE: BLIND SPOT DETECTION

The side mirror amber lights warning of a vehicle in the blind spot randomly illuminate and remain on for upwards of an hour or upon turning the vehicle off and back on. The dash randomly notifies me that the forward collision warning isn't available and both side mirror blind spot warning lights illuminate for upwards of an hour or until I turn off and restart the vehicle. The Dash randomly goes blank and doesn't display any information such as speed, RPM, warnings etc.

2025 Jeep Gladiator Athol, ID

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING

New Jeep, 1500 miles on it. While driving, it did an automatic update in the computer system. Following the update, the screen kept jumping information all over, constantly moving. I called jeep and they said bring it in same day. Following two shutdowns, the screen appeared normal. On 3 consecutive days it had automatic braking issues. 3 driving incidents occurred in which the automatic collision avoidance system kicked in with full braking, antilock brakes working. One incident occurred at 39 mph. One incident occurred at 50 MPH and one incident occurred at 55+ mph. There was no traffic conditions noted that would require and braking. The 50mph incident required traffic following me to break heavily, nearly causing an accident. The jeep pulled heavily to the left. Jeep made an appointment for a week out. I will not use that system pending an investigation

2024 Jeep Gladiator Mount Pleasant, SC

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL

Date of Incident: [XXX] Time: [XXX] Location: Mount Pleasant, South Carolina Vehicle: 2024 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon X Mileage at Time of Incident: Approximately 11,000 miles System Involved: Adaptive Cruise Control / Braking System Speed at Time of Incident: 45 MPH in a 45 MPH zone Road & Weather Conditions: Dry, clear weather, good road conditions Description of Incident: While driving at approximately 45 MPH with the adaptive cruise control engaged, the traffic light ahead turned yellow. As I have done many times before in similar conditions, I applied the brakes firmly to slow and stop for the light. However, the vehicle did not slow down as normally expected. As the light turned red and cross traffic began entering the intersection, I pressed the brakes as hard as possible. The vehicle began to slow, and the tires felt like they were “hopping,” but the vehicle never came to a complete stop. Because I was now in the middle of the intersection with a red light and vehicles entering from other directions, I released the brake to avoid a collision. At that point, the vehicle lurched forward, and I realized the cruise control system was still engaged and was actively propelling the vehicle forward. A short time later, the cruise control system finally disengaged on its own. This malfunction nearly caused a serious accident. Under normal operation, pressing the brake pedal firmly at any speed should immediately disengage adaptive cruise control, but this did not occur. Dealer Response: Immediately after the incident, the vehicle was taken to the Mount Pleasant Jeep dealership, SC. The dealership’s technician connected a diagnostic code reader and stated there were no fault codes. They also checked for Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) and stated none existed for this issue. The technician told me there was nothing further they could do. The dealership did not perform a road test, did not escalate the issue to the manufacturer. 2022 Jeep Gladiator Rushville, IN

LANE DEPARTURE: BLIND SPOT DETECTION

Driving down the Interstate at Interstate speed. Suddenly, the front end started shaking uncontrollably which in turn caused the whole truck to shake violently. I had to slow down immediately. The shaking stopped at 60MPH. The truck is a 2022 Jeep Gladiator with only 47,074, miles. The truck has not been driven off road but just normal driving. Has not been wrecked or has struck any road hazard. The event has been commonly referred to as " Death Wobble". I have read that this is a common occurrence for Jeeps. I had to pay over $800.00, dollars for repair. There was no rhyme or reason for this occurrence.

2022 Jeep Gladiator Cathedral City, CA Fire 1 injured

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL

I parked my car in the garage. It was turned off. I left the garage door open and went inside. After approximately 5 minutes I heard a car horn sounding. I went outside to check and saw flames coming from the passenger side of the car. I got the hose to put the fire out, and my neighbor called 911. The flames grew quickly and were growing. Soon the flames were on both sides of the car. Both the police and fire department arrived. The fire report indicates that the fire started in the engine area of the car. The car is now in the possession of my insurance company. My safety and the safety of others was at risk due to the fire. I was burned on my arm, neck and head. The car was completely burned. My insurance carrier inspected the car. The fire department said the fire started in the engine area. My insurance company conducted a preliminary inspection and determined that the fire started in the engine area. The vehicle been inspected by the manufacturer (Chrysler Jeep by Bosch Automotive Service Solutions), the police, the fire department and a representative from my insurance company. There were no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure.

Went to go leave for work and my instrument cluster was completely blank. Was unable to see odometer, CELs, sensors, fuel levels, etc. The cluster never turned back on. 2020 Jeep Gladiator Garner, NC

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS

While driving under normal, clear road conditions, my center gauge cluster display went black. I have checked my fuses (both fuses that are assigned to the instrument cluster, both were functioning as designed) and disconnected the negative battery terminal to allow the system to reset with negative results. This puts my vehicle, and others, is an unsafe position because I am unable to tell anything about certain critical vehicle data such as engine temperature, fuel level, mileage, TMPS, etc. I have not taken the vehicle to the dealership yet because I don't feel comfortable driving it. There were no warning lights or problems prior to this issue presenting.

2021 Jeep Gladiator Fairbanks, AK

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL

This vehicle has a repeating electronic problem involving the warning lights and function of abs, traction control, four-wheel drive system, forward collision warning, and both adaptive and normal cruise control. When the steering wheel is turned slightly right, like when navigating a highway curve, those warnings illuminate and the vehicle disables cruise control. It also has a lack of power due to what seems to be the traction control system activating. Also, the brake system has a shutter in the pedal and has reduced effectiveness for a few moments until the ABS and traction control systems stop function. I have taken the vehicle into a dealer, Larry H Miller CDJR in West Bountiful, Utah when it started to show this problem as I was leaving Portland. They replaced the front left ABS wheel speed sensor. This did not rectify the problem. I then took it to Gene's Chrysler in Fairbanks, Alaska upon my return home. That shop failed to warranty the repair, and charged additional diagnosis fees on top of correcting the Z96 high pressure fuel pump recall. They advised replacing the clock spring in the steering wheel that provides electrical connection to the buttons and is integrated in all of those safety systems. Prior Jeep models have had a consistent problem with the clock spring failing and a recall was issued due to affecting airbag deployment from the steering wheel. I am concerned that this clock spring related issue may lead to reduced braking effectiveness, loss of power at speed to react to traffic, and failure to deploy the airbag in an accident. The dealerships will not warranty this repair.
