I am reporting recurring safety-related shifting and vehicle gear/park-state concerns involving my 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee L Summit Reserve. On multiple occasions, the vehicle has failed to transition properly from Reverse into Drive. I reported this Reverse-to-Drive issue to the manufacturer before later becoming aware of diagnostic information that I believed could potentially relate to the behavior. I am not a mechanic and do not know the underlying cause. On July 5, 2026, while my infant was in the vehicle, I placed the vehicle in Park and it displayed a “Park Not Engaged” warning despite being in Park. Warning sounds occurred and the vehicle automatically engaged the parking brake. This caused me serious concern about whether the vehicle was reliably recognizing its selected gear/park state. I immediately reported the incident to the manufacturer and was instructed to bring the vehicle to an authorized dealership. I complied. The vehicle was at the dealership from July 8 through July 27, 2026. During that repair visit, the dealer documented that FCA/WiTECH diagnostic systems were unavailable and that the vehicle could not be properly scanned. The vehicle was ultimately returned to me without the reported concerns being resolved. The vehicle has accumulated approximately 22 days out of service during its repair history. The manufacturer and authorized dealership have been made aware of my concerns and the vehicle has been available for inspection and diagnosis. I remain concerned about the recurring Reverse-to-Drive behavior and the July 5 Park Not Engaged event because unexpected or unreliable gear/park-state behavior could create a risk of unintended vehicle movement or an inability to reliably control the vehicle as expected. The underlying failed component or cause is UNKNOWN. I am submitting this complaint so these incidents are documented and can be evaluated by NHTSA for a potential safety-related defect.

A vehicle was purchased at McLarty Daniel Chrysler Bentonville, AR. The sales department had a third party install a non-oem windshield. Dealer attempted repairs, but the records show discrepancies of statements and record. The dealer ignored the instructions to recalibrate the windshield, though the receipt stated “elevated risk of collision” if not calibrated. The owner had on going issues that service should have connected to the windshield and calibration. The windshield of this vehicle has immense safety features that were ignored. The liability to willfully hand over the keys of a known unsafe vehicle is high. The dealership sent a repair request to warranty, only to be denied for “faulty or negligent install” then the service department said “long story short sales will cover the repair” after requesting formal warranty communications did the owner become aware on 7/30/26 and start the process of correction.

Forward Collision Warning has been disabled since a forced OTA software update in August of 2024. Jeep has issued a STAR report to their dealers (S248A000013). Jeep acknowledges it is an issue, but fails to cover the remedy. Dealer wants $200+ to diagnose plus the cost of the software refresh. The system forces you to take the software update, removes a key safety feature, and then Jeep wants you to pay to restore it. The initial safety issue began with the rear-view camera going blank and the Uconnect 5 screen freezing while the vehicle was operating in reverse. My vehicle's service record indicates that Safety Recall 24V-436 / FCA Campaign 79B was marked as "Completed" in the FCA system on June 19, 2024—even though the official recall was not initiated until around June 25, 2024, and no physical software update was performed at that time. To resolve the recall, I took my 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee L to Performance Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Delaware, Ohio, where technicians updated the software to version FCA-MY24.U33.43-PROD. Immediately following this dealer update, several core vehicle and safety functions failed: Forward Collision Warning (FCW): The FCW system automatically turned off, and the option to re-enable it completely disappeared from the vehicle settings menu. Vehicle Safety & Operational Controls: Automatic speed-sensitive door locking and paddle shifter functionality were completely disabled. I returned the vehicle to the dealer, where technicians reflashed the software to restore the user configuration options and re-enable FCW. However, the Uconnect system remains dangerously buggy: Active Safety Alerts: The amber FCW OFF light illuminates continuously and gets stuck on. While ADAS features appear partially operational, the constant amber warning obscures real-time system failure notifications. Backup Camera & System Latency: The Uconnect system routinely freezes, introducing a dangerous delay in the rear-view camera feed during reversing maneuvers. System Instability: The Uconnect software randomly resets to the Italian language, resets rear-camera display settings, disables automatic door locking, disables paddle shifters, and causes seat auto-adjustment malfunctions. Stellantis has since issued TSB 08-221-26 (Software Version U41.10), which explicitly acknowledges that these exact software bugs—including the persistent FCW OFF light, screen freezes,

This model of Jeep has a documented history of having software problems that occur resulting in huge safety issues. I am filing this report because Jeep has not successfully solved this issue leading to regular ongoing safety concerns. Jeep themselves have issued several STAR reports on this, and a simple internet search will show thousands upon thousands of posts of owners with recurring issues. The specific safety concerns regarding seat positioning while moving, language change of instrumentation and critical alarms, metric changes to critical items like speed, and failure of front collision sensors. The issue begins with the driver seat changing its position while driving. While driving the seat will suddenly recline almost to a lay down position which is a safety risk. After some time fighting this, the car will eventually have a computer issue where the language changes to Italian, and cause the front collision sensors to be disabled. There is actually no issue with the sensors, it’s a software glitch that causes the sensors to be deactivated. In order to fix the issue, the car has to be taken to the dealership for several software updates and reconfiguration, resulting in cost to owners. Extended warranties do not cover software. The issue will then recur, sometimes within as little as a week, others after a few months. Researching forums, it appears this may be related to some OTA software update, but that hasn’t been confirmed as far as I can tell. This is a safety concern. Seats should not adjust on their own without driver controls being accessed, and collision sensors shouldn’t deactivate because of a software glitch.

I was stuck on the Hot way for 45 minutes cause my car was heating up. It’s been in shop four times for heating up on the fourth time I took it in. I was stocked because my electrical started going out. The speedometer started just going around my electrical on my dash started going from heat to cold my seat controls then it started of the dash panel are going to ABS and going to different things showing the speedometer showing the mileage on the car it just started doing its own controls so and then my speedometer just called going fast and went back to deal so and didn’t blacked out so I videotaped everything

The starter/starter solenoid and related engine oil sealing have failed three times. Most recently on 6/18/2026, and previously in 2024 and 2025, the vehicle would not start: the dashboard illuminated but the engine would not crank. The engine then began smoking and a burning electrical smell entered the cabin. My wife and young child were in the vehicle. The vehicle was rendered completely inoperable and had to be towed each time. Safety risk: an engine that smokes and emits a burning electrical odor upon attempted starting presents a fire hazard to occupants. On the most recent occurrence the failure happened at a fuel station with my family present, over 1,000 miles from home, stranding us for seven days. Dealer confirmation: yes. On the two prior occasions a franchise dealer diagnosed a defective starter solenoid and replaced the starter. Both repairs failed and the identical failure recurred. On the most recent occurrence, a different franchise dealer found that a plug sealing an unused opening on the engine block was missing, allowing engine oil to spray onto and saturate the starter, destroying it. The starter and the plug were replaced. All failures were documented on dealer repair orders, which are available on request. Inspection: the vehicle has been inspected and repaired by franchise dealers on all three occasions. No police or insurance inspection. The manufacturer has been notified through its customer care department, which has open case records on this vehicle. Warning indicators: none. There were no warning lamps, messages, or symptoms prior to any of the three failures. The vehicle simply would not crank, followed by smoke and a burning electrical smell. This vehicle has spent approximately 60 days out of service since purchase and has had persistent electrical problems documented since 2023. Despite repeated dealer repairs the same failure mode continues to recur. I am reporting this as an unaddressed safety defect.

While driving, the vehicle displayed a "Service Shifter" warning with no prior warning lamps or symptoms. The transmission then dropped out of Drive into Neutral on its own while the vehicle was moving, causing it to roll before the vehicle automatically shifted itself into Park and applied the parking brake. The vehicle could be shifted back into Drive but repeatedly slipped out of gear into Neutral again within about a minute each time. After parking, the gear indicator display (P/R/N/D) stopped illuminating entirely and has not returned. The vehicle is now unresponsive to the rotary shifter and is stuck in Park with no way to shift into any gear. This failure matches the description of open recall 30D (shifter module software defect causing loss of transmission gear position display), though my vehicle was not part of the currently identified population when checked against the VIN lookup. The vehicle is currently undriveable and has not yet been inspected by a dealer or independent shop.

Dead Battery. The Telematics Bix Module (TBM) is failing to properly shut off when the car is parked. Therefore it induces a parasitic drain on the battery. We have had the battery replaced by the dealer. This problem is known to affect 2022-2025 models.

I am reporting a serious safety failure in my 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee L (1,483 miles). On XXX, the vehicle was parked with my wife and young children inside. Upon starting it, the vehicle would not shift into gear, the steering wheel locked, and the front windows stopped working. The lane departure symbol lit up during the failure, and the vehicle would not shut off through normal controls. After two hours, we shut it off by disconnecting the battery. When restarted, the check engine light and other warning lamps came on, and the vehicle began shaking and rattling. No crash occurred, but with steering locked and children in the car, I had no way to safely disable the vehicle for two hours. This could have caused loss of control if it happened while driving. No prior warning signs occurred before the incident. The vehicle has not been inspected by a dealer or repair shop, as no certified Jeep dealership exists on Lanai, Hawaii, where I reside; shipping the vehicle requires barg transport to XX or XXX. Randomly, and without warning, the instruments, gauges, and displays will switch into a language I do not speak or understand (Italian). Coinciding with the switch to Italian language, cluster and radio display settings revert back to default settings, auto door locks and paddle shifter becomes inoperative (with no menu to enable), pedestrian emergency brake (peb) lamp or forward collision warning (fcw) lamp turns on with no way to disable, units of measurement including speed, temperature, etc. all change, and many other random settings change as well. ***This is clearly a dangerous situation because of all the functions and gauges that change, and the fact it is difficult if not impossible to recover from this due to the language of the setting menus, and the complexity of discovering and navigating through all these changes. I have taken it to the dealer twice, and they say there is nothing they can do and to wait for a possible software update, but none has come and it has been over a year. When this happens, even if one is able to wade through all the settings menus and change setting back, some items cannot be reset (like the FCA off lamp). According to various Jeep owner forums, some dealers have been able to reset something and temporarily correct the issue, but they charge for this service, and the issue returns randomly again. I bought my truck march 2025 in August while putting groceries in the trunk the trunk started coming down on me I took it to the dealership the hydraulic fuel was low had I been a child the trunk probably would have shut completely on them, may 2026 both batteries went out the main batteries and the auxiliary battery june 21 the fuse array box went out nothing on the door panel works the doors won’t lock the windows don’t work the trunk won’t work the seats won’t adjust and the dealership is trying to say that this box is only covered 12 months or 12000 miles

My 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L Limited has had an issue since I purchased it in March 2024 that has a loud booming sound that comes out of the speakers when you turn it on. It exceeds 70 dBA when it happens and causes me ear pain. My dealer has reported it numerous times and it is known to Jeep but they still have not come up with a fix. My 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee L experienced a sudden, simultaneous failure of multiple electrical, safety, and driver-assistance systems. Without warning, the instrument cluster illuminated a yellow warning light indicating that the Forward Collision Warning (FCW) system was disabled and unavailable. Concurrently, the steering wheel paddle shifters completely stopped functioning, and the vehicle randomly reset its primary language setting to Italian reverted its system units to Metric and Celsius. Furthermore, critical user customization options in the Uconnect 5 infotainment system—specifically the auto-folding side mirrors option, automatic door locking preferences, and passenger seat controls—completely disappeared from the settings menus.

On April 20, 2026, my 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee L was involved in a crash due to a sudden and complete brake failure. At the time of the incident, the vehicle was in the custody of an authorized FCA dealership. An employee of the dealership was operating the vehicle when the brakes completely failed to respond, resulting in an accident. FCA US LLC Special Investigations conducted an inspection (Case #[96529168]) and stated they found no physical evidence of a manufacturing defect or component malfunction. However, the mechanical or electronic failure was severe enough to cause a crash while being operated by a professional dealership technician. I am filing this complaint because sudden brake failure represents an extreme safety hazard to the public. The manufacturer has denied assistance, and independent federal oversight is required to determine if a software or hydraulic defect exists in this model year.

My vehicle wasn’t reading my key fob when I was pressing the lock and unlock button, so I took out the hard key and unlock the doors. Then the alarm set off and I was using the key fob again trying to shut the alarm off no response so I took the key fob and press the start stop button and the engine turn over and the key was working again then I went to shut off the engine same way. The engine would not shut off my driver seat wouldn’t move so I couldn’t get to the battery and I paid a lock smith to come out and he couldn’t even help me with my key fob not syncing with the vehicle..my ebreak would not release or the emergency override break wasn’t working. On the digital dash it’s kept saying shift to park to release parking break but the vehicle was in park all while doing so. This all happened around 7pm. So I could not get help until the morning cs the vehicle would not move
