From 2000 through 2017, Takata produced millions of air bag inflators using two types of phase-stabilized ammonium nitrate ("PSAN") propellant -- propellant 2004 and propellant 2004L. After prolonged exposure to high temperature cycles and humidity, inflators using propellant 2004 can degrade, causing the propellant to burn too quickly when ignited. Note: This recall is an expansion of N759 (Transport Canada recall no. 2022-668). Certain vehicles that were inspected/repaired under that recall, also require this repair. Safety Risk: A loss of vehicle control could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Land Rover will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect the front suspension knuckles. If the knuckles aren't cracked, the dealer will install retaining brackets. If cracks are found, the dealer will replace the knuckle(s).

Issue: On certain vehicles, the doors may not latch properly when they are closed. As a result, the doors could open while driving. Safety Risk: A door that opens suddenly while driving could create the risk of injury and/or increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Land Rover will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the unilatch keyless vehicle (KV) software. The dealer will also inspect and, if necessary, replace the left-front and rear door latches.

Issue: On certain vehicles, the front suspension knuckles could crack and/or break. A front knuckle that breaks while driving could cause a sudden loss of vehicle control. Safety Risk: A loss of vehicle control could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Land Rover will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect the front suspension knuckles. If the batch code stamped on the knuckle is within the affected range, and it isn't cracked, the dealership will install a retaining bracket. If cracks are found, the dealership will replace the knuckle(s).

Safety Risk: A seat belt that doesn't lock properly in a crash could cause an increased risk of injury. The contact owns a 2016 Land Rover. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V514000 (Steering) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted and confirmed the remedy was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure.

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

The fuel tank shield has rusted completely through exposing the tank to damage, puncture, etc. The reason this problem occurs is because of a process called galvanic corrosion. The fuel tank shield is bolted onto an aluminum heat shield, and the pairing of these two different metals accelerates the corrosion. Land Rover has acknowledged this problem and it’s given priority due to the fact that this is a safety issue being that these shields are also responsible for holding the tanks in place.

I am filing a complaint regarding an unresolved safety recall on my Land Rover vehicle that has remained unrepaired for over seven (7) months. The recall was issued in or around August 2025. Since that time, I have repeatedly attempted to have the recall repair completed through an authorized dealership, Jaguar Land Rover Buffalo. On March 6, 2026, at approximately 1:25 PM, I contacted the dealership at (716) 831-3100 and spoke with a service representative. I was informed they are still “waiting on instructions from Land Rover” and are unable to perform the recall repair. As of today, more than seven months have passed since the recall notice, and no repair, interim remedy, or timeline has been provided. The dealership has not offered: •A temporary repair or mitigation •A loaner or alternative transportation •Any estimated timeframe for resolution This delay appears unreasonable under federal safety recall requirements and leaves a known safety defect uncorrected.afety Risk: The vehicle continues to be operated with an unresolved safety defect, increasing the risk of malfunction, accident, or injury.

After an inspection underneath the car, the fuel tank is at risk of falling off because the cover that holds it is completely rusted. It is very dangerous to drive like this after the tank is filled with fuel and the weight of the tank increases without knowing what can support it.

ENGINE

I am reporting a catastrophic engine failure involving a 2016 Land Rover Range Rover Supercharged 5.0L (VIN: [XXX] ) with approximately 88,000 miles. The vehicle experienced sudden engine failure due to a timing chain malfunction. Timing chain failure in this engine platform can result in immediate engine stall and total loss of propulsion without warning. A sudden engine stall while driving presents a serious safety risk, including loss of power steering assist, reduced braking performance, and increased risk of collision. The 5.0L AJ133 engine used in 2013–2017 Range Rover and Range Rover Sport vehicles has a documented pattern of premature timing chain and timing chain tensioner failures. Numerous owner reports indicate similar failures occurring before expected service life. In my case, the timing chain failure caused catastrophic internal engine damage requiring full engine replacement. The failure occurred despite proper maintenance and without prior warning indicators sufficient to prevent breakdown. This issue represents a potential safety defect because sudden engine failure can occur while the vehicle is in motion, creating hazardous driving conditions. I am requesting that NHTSA review this issue for potential investigation into premature timing chain failure in 2013–2017 Land Rover Range Rover 5.0L Supercharged vehicles. FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

This era of Land Rover products used an inferior metal for the fuel tank shield where they corrode prematurely. The shield has almost completely disintegrated where it no longer will support the fuel tank. If the fuel tank falls, it will come in direct contact with the driveshaft and destroy the tank leading to a massive fuel leak and subsequent fire. My tank is currently held up with ratchet straps to avoid this happening. With the exception of the fuel tank shield, every other undercarriage component is rust/corrosion free.

My Land Rover is experiencing rusted fuel tank shields. The reason this problem occurs is because of a process called galvanic corrosion. The fuel tank shield is bolted onto an aluminum heat shield, and the pairing of these two different metals accelerates the corrosion. Land Rover has acknowledged this problem.

When the auto start/stop is engaged and the engine is off (e.g. at a stop light), the car will sometimes shut down. It is as if I pressed the button to park the car. The shifter knob retracts but the indicator light stays on “D” for several seconds and I can’t restart the car. It has happened when I’m in an intersection waiting to turn left and has stranded me in the middle of the intersection. I have reported this problem several times to the dealership but they say they can’t reproduce the issue and there are no advisories from Land Rover. I have a suspicion that Land Rover knows about the issue but has no fix for it

Good morning, Some time ago Land Rover Corporate made me aware of the recall about the suspension failure that can happen without warning, but to date there is no fix and apparently no parts to fix the problem so I am in need of guidance as to what to do, what recourse do I have should this fail as I am driving, etc?
