My CVT transmission has stopped working. At no time during taking it to Nissan dealerships to have oil changes in basic maintenance was it ever suggested to do a filter or fluid change on my transmission although Nissan transmissions are sold to consumers as locked and maintenance free it is a well-known fact that I've come to find out that this is a very incorrect statement and fluid and filters do need change every 30 to 50,000 miles or it will cause severe damage to one's transmission which is what it occurred to me on my 2021 Nissan kicks. Also all my safety features that told me if I was outside of a lane or anything like that would go off and not work properly tell me that it was wet conditions when it wasn't tell me I was going to crash when I wasn't even near anything. This occurred before the transmission completely bottomed out.

The car acceleration issues, taking a long time to go from 0-50 with the tachometer going up to 5 to do so. My MPG has gone from 33 to 28 mpg. There are times when I press on the gas but my car doesn’t move. It also makes loud “rumbling” or “whining” sounds at times.

The p0101 code has been going on and off of this car since purchase (3 years) the MAF sensor has been replaced twice and the check engine light comes back on after just a few days each time. This poses a safety risk because the car stops at stop lights and turns off, the car shakes at idle, the car refuses to accelerate risking pulling out in front of another car without being able to accelerate. The check engine light comes on and off and the traction control light as well, its so random and the only fix is to "change the sensor" which does not fix it because it happens again immediately after. Its dangerous and needs an actual fix.

The contact owns a 2019 Nissan Kicks. The contact stated that while driving at slow speeds, the check engine warning light illuminated, and the vehicle stalled. After restarting the vehicle, the vehicle immediately hesitated while accelerating. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the Mass Air Flow Sensor was faulty and needed to be replaced. The sensor was replaced, but the failure persisted. The vehicle was later taken to the local Nissan dealer but was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was 67,736.

The fuel filler door does not lock as advertised and stated in the owner's manual pg 206 2025 Nissan Kicks. This invites potential to do harm to the vehicle which could lead to a safety concern. ( The fuel filler door is suppose to lock when the car doors are locked) and unlock when the car doors are unlocked. As it stands, the fuel filler door remains unlocked all the time.

The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that the alternator and the Mass Air Flow sensor circuit had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The contact stated that the vehicle hesitated with the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was able to restart. The vehicle was taken back to the independent mechanic, where the same diagnostic result was provided. The contact was informed that the alternator and the Mass Air Flow sensor circuit had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The dealer was contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and a case was opened. The approximate failure mileage was 43,000. I keep getting the p0101 code for the MAF sensor and I’ve replaced it 2 times with OEM ones and I still get that code later on. I’ve cleaned the throttle body and replaced the air filter with an OEM one and that light with also the “wet road” and “forward collision” light keep popping up. Stalling has also occurred multiple times while in park or at a stop light and rough idle when ever not in movement.

The contact owns a 2019 Nissan Kicks. The contact stated that while making sharp left and right turns, she heard a grinding sound near the floorboard. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the air flow sensor failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 65-70 MPH, the vehicle stalled without warning. The contact was able to restart the vehicle however, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer however, the failure could not be duplicated. The contact stated that she used an OBD scanner and performed a diagnostic test on the vehicle that produced code: P101 (Indicating that the mass air flow sensor was faulty). Additionally, the contact stated that while driving at various speeds, while depressing the brake pedal to stop the vehicle, the vehicle failed to respond as needed. The contact stated that she had to apply added pressure and pump the brake pedal several times to coast the vehicle to a stop. The contact stated that the mitigation braking system failed. The ABS warning light and the Forward Collision Avoidance warning light were intermittently illuminated. Additionally, the air bag warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where it was diagnosed but the failure could not be duplicated. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed to take the vehicle back to the dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 88,873.
