This vehicle was purchased used from Carvana, LLC on [date] with three open safety recalls unrepaired at time of sale: NHTSA #23V-799, #24V-754, and Campaign #48A. The vehicle was previously owned by a rental car company and was transferred at auction while these recalls were open, in apparent violation of 49 U.S.C. § 30120(i), which prohibits rental companies from selling vehicles with unremedied open recalls. Despite Carvana's own signed Recall Acknowledgment listing these recalls as open, their delivery agent verbally represented the recalls had been fixed. All three recalls remain unrepaired as of this filing

My truck had safety recall 24V-729 done to fix a turn signal that will not shut off. Since the recall I have had to have the same problem fixed an additional two times. The dealership will not classify it under the recall and have charged me for the repairs. They say that it is not the SCCM, which the recall says is the issue. My problem is that the turn signal has been fixed 3 times total.

I had just gotten off work around 730 or 745 ish. Drove my truck with the windows down , a few miles down the street to this strip mall / store area i frequent . Got out of the truck went in the store and other establishment . Was inside for maybe 5 mins . The truck was certainly turned off, windows up. When i came back out to the truck i opened the door and it was full of smoke and the armrest / center storage bin was molten and so hot it had melted the two pieces . I had a couple bottles of water in the truck and was able to put it out but had burned my left hand in the process . Once i was sure it was extinguished i moved it away from parked cars to an empty lot to prevent anothe possible fire from damaging other vehicles . I then had it towed to Bob Caldwell on Morse road in Columbus Ohio. This was on Saturday july 11th . Still no adjuster put to the vehicle since filing my insurance claim. It’s Thursday July 16th now .

While driving the factory-installed (OEM) tonneau cover suddenly detached from the truck bed and flew off. This was a critical safety hazard that could have caused a major accident for vehicles trailing behind me. I had secured the latches properly, and this incident was caused by a mechanical or hardware failure of the factory parts, not by user error.

I loaded cargo into the truck bed, ensured that the tonneau cover was fully closed and securely latched, and began my drive. While on the road, the cover detached and flew off due to wind resistance. Fortunately, it landed on the grass, but it could have caused a major accident or severe injury to the vehicle driving behind me. This incident occurred just one month after leasing the vehicle from Stellantis, and the truck bed cover was a factory-installed OEM component that came directly with the vehicle. Following the incident, I requested a repair from Stellantis. While they performed the repair, they claimed that the driver had failed to properly secure the latches to avoid liability. However, I am certain that I locked the latches correctly. The physical evidence contradicts the manufacturer's claim: the clean fracture on the detached latch and the severe upward warping of the bed rails undeniably prove that the latches were fully engaged, and that this was a critical manufacturing defect where the components could not withstand highway-speed wind resistance. This poses a serious safety risk to other motorists.

I was driving down Highway 16 in Texas between Fredericksburg and Kerrville when I heard a very loud noise and the panoramic window on my vehicle exploded. There were not any objects that came in contact with the window to cause it to break. Fortunately, the sunroof was closed and the inside cover was in the closed position so that glass did not cover me or the interior of the vehicle. This was a two lane highway and had I not had the sunroof covering in the closed position it could have resulted in a serious accident.

Many vehicles functions are controlled by the Uconnect screen, climate controls, stereo, navigation and hands free phone operation. The 12” screen for the Uconnect system has a know issue where it goes blank, screen dances around and renders the hands free function useless along with the other critical functions. If the screen goes out while driving it can cause confusion with the driver.

My heater core erupted in my truck last week and the coolant vaporized into a thick smoke that smothered me in my cabin that i had to pull over and air our my vehicle i believe this is due to the dash boards getting really hot i took it to savage dodge on 61 in reading pa 19605 they diagnosed it as a heater core and heater core hoses. I called Stellantis manufacturing to ask them to review the manufacturing defect the customer service line wants nothing to do with this even after i stressed to them the dangers of inhaling vaporized coolant and the fire hazard their dash boards present. They keep denying the claim to fix this and I am trying to stop someone from dying before they decide to correct the problem. I am a 10 year master mechanic and 8 year master diagnostician in the auto industry this needs to be addressed my friends 25 dodge promaster with 21,xxx miles on it had the heater core erupt on his too but his is inder warranty. My 2023 Ram 1500 TRX has recurring safety-related failures of the infotainment system affecting both Uconnect 5 (12” screen) and earlier Uconnect 4 units. These issues are widespread in 2021–2024 Ram TRX and Ram 1500 models and began or worsened after forced over-the-air updates. The primary defect is screen failures while driving. When the screen goes black or freezes, the truck loses all functions controlled through the display, including HVAC/defrost, backup camera, vehicle settings, seat controls, and performance gauges. This creates an immediate safety hazard: I cannot adjust climate/defrost, cannot see the required rear-view camera when shifting to reverse, and cannot access key vehicle information. Owners across multiple years consistently report: • Black screens, freezes, and reboots • Loss of HVAC control and dual-zone functions • Backup camera not displaying • Vehicle/Apps tabs failing to open • Uconnect error messages • Smaller, harder-to-read gauges after updates • Wireless CarPlay/Android Auto failures • No option to decline or roll back OTA updates These failures distract the driver, remove access to federally required equipment (rear camera), and eliminate visibility and climate controls that directly affect safe operation. The system becomes unpredictable and unstable despite the vehicle being in motion. My vehicle experiences the same issues, including a frozen screen while driving, loss of HVAC, camera not available, etc. Because this affects essential safety-related controls and visibility, I believe this is a safety defect in Ram/Stellantis Uconnect 4 and Uconnect 5 systems. I request NHTSA open a defect investigation and require Ram to correct these failures.

Going up I-20 to get a load of wood for barns. I noticed when I got to the saw mill I could not select the trailer brake through the radio.. Trailer brakes are stuck on Light electric, I have had the trailer grounds checked and the magnets to the brakes on the trailer replaced. Again, Trailer brakes are stuck on Light electric and cannot select the heavy electric/ heavy over hydraulic/ light over hydraulic. Stellantis group finally told the dealership that they know about the problem but there is no fix for it yet. This was the purpose of purchasing this vehicle as a work truck with the trailer tow package. They have replaced everything that pertains to the trailer brakes. The BCM, the trailer brake module twice, and even the radio. The wiring has been checked it only puts out 6.5 volt at the plug. Brake type is greyed out.

The vehicle was sold with oversized 35-inch tires but was never recalibrated for speedometer, odometer, or tire pressure monitoring systems. The vehicle’s speedometer reads approximately 7 mph slower than actual speed, making the odometer inaccurate as well. This affects braking, ABS, traction control, and engine timing. The door placard still lists the original 265/70R17 tires, meaning the vehicle no longer meets the safety certification indicated by the label. The dealership did not disclose these modifications. I have had two tire failures due to rubbing and unsafe fitment.

The turn signal does not reset. Which there is a recall for already. I have complained about this issue before the recall to Ram and now there is a recall. But on may 8, 2025 the dealership stated they could not recreate the issue so they closed the recall. Now on June 17, 2025, I brought my car in for a windshield wiper fluid issue and they asked me is there anything else they should check out. I chuckled and said yea, but ram won't fix it. I told them about the turn signal they said they would check it out. This dealership was able to recreate the issue but since the 1st dealership closed the recall out and marker "complete" i now have to pay for the the fix and try to submit a claim through mopar/stellantis.

The Connected Services system in my 2023 Ram TRX regularly displays large, full-screen alerts for emergency vehicles, tow trucks, and lane closures — often when there is no actual hazard present. These alerts are extremely distracting and dangerous. They: Block the entire screen, hiding navigation, camera, and HVAC controls and leaving the screen black until the user interacts with it multiple times to put it back on navigation. Require multiple presses to clear, forcing interaction while driving. Often reactivate within seconds, creating a loop of screen interference. Have triggered during merging, construction zones, heavy traffic, and when passing emergency vehicles or tow trucks, where focus is critical and lives are at risk. Occur falsely 80%+ of the time — no hazard is nearby. Cannot be disabled, according to Stellantis. These alerts violate basic safety interface principles by forcing unnecessary, repeated interaction in active driving conditions, forcing distracted driving. The system is overly aggressive, not user-configurable, and poses a significant distraction risk. Numerous owners on Ram forums have reported similar experiences, including repeated false triggers in the same areas. I am requesting NHTSA investigate this system. Stellantis should be required to: Offer a toggle to disable or limit alert pop-ups. Redesign the alerts to be non-obstructive and passive, or limit them to actual verified hazards. Until addressed, this is a serious safety issue affecting many drivers. I have video evidence of the issue occurring that I can provide.
