My van is subject to NHTSA recall 25V-720 (manufacturer recall 67C): a cooling fan module susceptible to premature bearing wear combined with inadequate fuse protection on the 400W fan circuit, which the manufacturer states may lead to a engiine fire. I rent this vehicle out on Outdoorsy, my van is used commercially as a rental and part of their terms and conditions state this vehicle cannot go out if there is a recall notice. I thought for sure lithia would have this solved by this summer. Since August 26, 2025 and also remains incomplete TODAY. Two open safety recalls have run concurrently on this vehicle for nearly a year. It is still a HUGE safety risk and I have now lost all of my summer rentals schedule due to no solves being available. I had to cancel ten confirmed bookings covering June through September 2026 totaling $11,041.20 in lost income. The Outdoosy platform independently reviewed the situation and categorized all ten cancellations as caused by the manufacturer safety recall. The manufacturer's customer care department documented the loss in writing, then stated it was unable to determine or authorize compensation and could not provide any timeline for review or schedule the fix, as no parts were available 2026-05-27 when I could not get a fix scheduled after trying for 2 weeks to find a solution. This complaint concerns the manufacturer's failure to remedy an announced fire-risk safety recall in a timely manner, causing me loss of income totally $11,041.20 and who know how many other bookings that would have continued to come in throughout the summer. The parts JUST became available, but I have yet to be called back by lithia to have my service scheduled, they don't know when the parts will arrive. I am still loosing income.

The check-engine light came on my 2nd day of ownership (less than 100 miles driven by me, but 2032 miles on it when purchased new - RV conversion from Entegra Coach through LaMesa RV), on October 5, 2025. After diagnosis at a Ram dealership (Larry Miller Dodge Ram in Tucson AZ), they identified the code was misfire on cylinder 6, which caused low compression, with a root cause of the intake valves being improperly seated during manufacturing. The dealership replaced some cylinder and engine parts, but the issue recurred on Cylinder 4 after driving it about 5000+ miles, on June 13, 2026. Again, misfire check-engine code and loss of compression on cylinder 4. The engine ran very rough and had loss of power. The engine is still under investigation by another Ram dealership service department (Crest Auto World, Center Conway, NH). I have learned that loss of compression can cause the engine to stall, lose acceleration power (which it did), and potentially throw a rod and blow a hole in the engine. Since this was caused by a manufacturing defect, I am also concerned that there are other vans with this issue on the road.

It is my understanding that the Dealer is in the wrong here. •Absolute Free Labor: Dealerships enter franchise contracts with the manufacturer requiring them to execute recall repairs for free. Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is legally obligated to provide the instructions and billable labor hours to the dealership. •The "2x4" Tool Excuse: If a manufacturer's official technical service bulletin specifies a specific physical manipulation or tool—even a makeshift one like a 2x4—to complete the repair, that labor time is factored into the flat-rate time Chrysler pays the dealer. The dealer cannot pass "difficult labor" or tool costs onto you. •No Deductibles or Add-ons: A dealer cannot apply any separate fees or surcharges to offset their operational challenges while resolving a safety defect.

While operating a 2023 Ram ProMaster 2500 (3.6L V6) for normal commercial use at approximately 39,129 miles, the coolant began bubbling and engine temperature spiked suddenly while driving. The vehicle was immediately parked and towed to an authorized Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram dealership as it was completely undrivable. This created a serious safety risk as the vehicle lost drivability suddenly on public roads during active commercial operation. Upon teardown the authorized dealer documented: coolant leaking into cylinders 3 and 4, coolant coming out of exhaust, stretched engine bolts, warped block and head, and internal coolant leak causing overheat. No external leaks from the cooling system were found. The internal component failures caused the overheating not the reverse. The vehicle was still within its active powertrain warranty at time of failure. Stellantis denied the warranty claim under TSB D-23-20 claiming an undetermined overheat caused the engine failure directly contradicting their own dealer's findings which show zero external cause. I have paid $9,000 out of pocket for repairs that should be covered under active powertrain warranty on a 3-year-old vehicle under 40,000 miles. I am requesting NHTSA investigate this failure pattern in the 3.6L V6 Ram ProMaster 2500 as other commercial operators may face the same sudden dangerous failure.

COMPONENT FAILED: Left transmission mount bracket and its fasteners on a 2017 RAM ProMaster with 3.6L V6 Pentastar (sales code ERB) and 62TE 6-speed automatic (sales code DG2). At least one bracket-to-transaxle bolt sheared. The bracket separated from the transmission, the powertrain dropped on the driver side, the left front CV axle pulled out of the transaxle, and transmission fluid loss occurred. The transmission case casting also appears cracked at the bracket mounting boss. All failed components are preserved and available for inspection. SAFETY RISK: Failure occurred during LOW-SPEED MANEUVERING. Had it occurred at highway speed, the dropped powertrain and separated front drive axle could have caused loss of vehicle control, sudden disabling of the vehicle in traffic, and roadway debris from dragging components. Industry-published cases describe identical failures at 40+ mph (Certified Transmission, May 2019). Multiple owner reports of the same failure exist for 2015-2021 ProMasters. CONFIRMED BY: Failure confirmed by visual inspection at an independent service facility. The failure mode matches FCA Service Bulletin 23-022-19 (8/27/2019), which warns the bracket fasteners are torque-to-yield, single-stage, one-time use, and that reuse can lead to bracket bolt failure. The TSB is classified Information Only — no recall has been issued. INSPECTED BY: Inspected by the owner and an independent repair technician. Not yet inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance. The manufacturer and dealer have confirmed that the remedy/parts are still not available and that there is no ETA for repair. At this time, I have not experienced an obvious operating failure with the vehicle itself. However, the open safety recall remains unresolved, and because no remedy exists yet, the recall cannot be completed. This is my sole work vehicle, and the unresolved recall is preventing lawful completion of the import/registration process in Canada and preventing me from using the vehicle for work. The problem has been confirmed by the manufacturer and an authorized dealer as an open recall with no available remedy at this time. I am reporting that the manufacturer has failed to provide a timely remedy for this safety recall.

We have a granddaughter who lives with us and goes camping with us most of the time. We also have a handicapped daughter who also travels with us sometimes. She has never been able to walk. What if the van catches on fire while she is with us? My wife and I are in our mid [XXX] . We have been losing sleep thinking about this The people we bought it from said it’s not their responsibility, same as Thor Twist. They say it’s a chassis problem and we need to call Chrysler Corporation. I called the Chrysler Corporation the Dodge dealership near our location. Recall notice states “The remedy for this condition is not currently available. We can’t plan any vacation time due to this recall. We now have nightmares about traveling anywhere in this van. We paid over $100,000 for this van and cannot use it. We are requesting that we return the van and get all our money back. We have had nothing but problems with this van and worry about making any trips in it in the future. We have had it in the shop 4 times for recalls and several other times for malfunctioning issues.
