2025 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 Pittsburgh, PA

SEAT BELTS

Radio does not emit sound also canceling all warning noises for fuel level, turn signals, seat belts, open door in motion. This problem is not only a saftey hazard for drivers its a major annoyance. Honestly find it quite distracting. Have reached out to gm multiple times and the issue hasn't been corrected. Really concerned this is going to plage my vehicle its whole life. This issue has happened more times than I can count.

2022 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 Eaton Rapids, MI Crash

SEAT BELTS

The vehicle was in a collision that occurred to the front of the vehicle causing the seat belts to lock up a burst of compressed air to come from the dash, the hazards to engage and the dome lights to engage, the vehicle then was taken into get repaired at a certified dealership, after dealing with the dealership and General Motors we find out the sensor did engage for the airbags to deploy but the airbags failed to deploy properly or break through the dash, the dealership and manufacturer are now not wanting to find out why this is doing this and just put a new airbag baffle in and call it a day.

NHTSA complaint #11699983 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.

2019 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 Knoxville, TN Crash 1 injured

SEAT BELTS

Another driver illegally turned left in front of this vehicle. the vehicles collided on each of their right front corners. The airbags failed to deploy and the shoulder belt did not restrain the driver and keep him striking his head on the steering wheel, and breaking a bone in his hand. this was a serious head-on collision that totaled both vehicles. The truck is currently at the salvage yard and is available for inspection. The driver's safety was put at risk because the two primary safety restraint systems failed. the problem has not been reproduced. Chevrolet is sending someone to download the crash data which will then be provided to their engineering department for review and analysis. No warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem were observed by the owner or driver before the accident.

NHTSA complaint #11658768 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.

2023 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 Breckenridge, MI

SEAT BELTS

The seat beat has been un-latching while driving. It is random when it occurs. No warnings come before this happens. Does not always need to be that I move for it to unlatch. I have been sitting still while driving and it has come undone. The seat belt has been cleaned out. No signs of defect or other damage. Available to be inspected..should be repaired free of charge as this is a life threatening issue.

2015 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 Oakhurst, CA

SEAT BELTS

The rear seatbelts retract very slowly and now most of the time not at all. Along with that they only intermittently catch when I pull hard and quick, like when in an accident. These 2 issues with the seatbelts pose a huge safety risk and I cannot put my daughter in the back seat.

2018 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 at 16,943 miles Pasco, WA

SEAT BELTS

THERE IS NO PASSENGER SEAT BELT WARNING AUDIO OR VISUAL. THE DEALER SAID THAT THIS VEHICLE DOESN'T HAVE A SENSOR TO TELL IF SOMEONE IS IN THE SEAT OR NOT. BUT THEY "ASSURED" ME THAT THE PASSENGER AIR BAGS STILL WOULD WORK. EVEN THOUGH IT HAS BEEN SHOWN THAT AIR BAGS BY THEM SELVES ARE NOT AS EFFECTIVE. I READ THAT CHEVROLET OFFERED TO INSTALL AN ON OFF SWITCH FOR THE AIR BAGS, THE WRONG THING TO DO IN MY OPINION. THE SEAT BELT WARNING SYSTEM SHOULD BE A REQUIREMENT NOT AN OPTION.

WHEN EVER THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. PASSENGER SEAT DOES NOT HAVE THE REMINDER OR WARNING SYSTEM TO ALERT THE OCCUPANT TO BUCKLE UP SHOULD THEY FORGET. MY DEALER STATES THE PASSENGER AIR BAG SYSTEM IS ACTIVE FULL TIME HOWEVER IT IS ONLY MARGINALLY EFFECTIVE SHOULD THE PASSENGER FAIL TO SECURE THEIR SEAT BELT. ADDITIONALLY, THERE IS NO DASH INDICATOR SHOWING THE PASSENGER SEAT BELT BUCLKE/NO-BUCKLE STATUS AS SHOWN ON PAGE 86 OF THE 2018 SILVERADO OWNERS MANUAL WHICH DISCUSSES THE PASSENGER SENSING SYSTEM AND AIRBAG STATUS INDICATOR WHICH IS NOT PRESENT IN THIS LINE OF VEHICLES. PAGE 145 OF THE 2018 SILVERADO OWNERS MANUAL STATES THERE "MAY" BE A REMINDER LIGHT NEAR THE AIRBAG STATUS INDICATOR WHICH IS NOT INSTALLED ON THIS LINE OF VEHICLES. VIEWING SIMILAR VEHICLES, THIS CONDITION IS PRESENT IN A MINIMUM OF MODEL YEARS 2017 THROUGH 2020 CHEVROLET AND GMC 2500/3500 HD CREW CAB VEHICLES. CONTACTED GENERAL MOTORS CUSTOMER SERVICE ON 4/10/2018 & 4/24/2018 FILED GM CASE [XXX]. GM REP CALLED BACK 4/30/2018 AND THEIR SOLUTION WAS TO HAVE MY DEALERSHIP INSTALL AN AIRBAG ON/OFF SWITCH TO DISABLE THE AIRBAG. NOT A SUITABLE RESOLUTION TO THIS SAFETY ISSUE. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
