The rear suspension oscillates and bounces violently over bumps, expansion joints, broken or uneven pavement, and washboard surfaces. It occurs at highway speed, at normal neighborhood speeds, and while slowing or coming to a stop over rough pavement. The rear suspension does not recover after a bump: it continues bouncing, the rear of the vehicle steps sideways, and steering correction is required to keep the vehicle in its lane. The condition is highly unpredictable. It does not occur on every bump and the driver cannot anticipate it, so there is no way to drive around it. Because it is intermittent, a short test drive may not reproduce it. On a recent drive on [XXX] south of Salt Lake City it occurred approximately 20 to 40 times over a seven mile stretch, with my wife driving. She has had to slow well below the posted 70 mph limit to maintain control. She will no longer drive the vehicle or transport our children in it. The vehicle was previously presented to an authorized Ford dealer for this concern and the condition was not corrected. It has worsened since. We have stopped driving it and had it towed to the dealer on August 11, 2026 because we do not consider it safe to drive. The vehicle is at the dealer now and is available for inspection. The manufacturer has opened a case and a repurchase review. No warning lamps or messages have appeared. The vehicle is completely stock with no aftermarket suspension, wheels, or tires. While driving on to a rough area such as a bridge crossing the vehicle exhibited excessive bouncing and caused the direction of travel toward the next lane. Repairs to the front struts were made at the dealership where the vehicle was originally purchased. The repair part was described as JL1Z 18124 E Shock Absorber Asy. The service advisor said struts are described this way due to the way it is listed in the parts catalog. Since this repair the vehicle has increasingly repeated the same bouncing and driveability to the extent that another service call is required.

The differential came apart while my family and I were traveling on the highway out of town. This cause the vehicle to start violently jolting and wheels locked up. The vehicle began to skid across the center line into on coming traffic, we were almost hit head on and from behind due to this. My husband couldn’t get the vehicle to move, it was making a grinding and screeching noise. Finally, he got it into 4x4 mode and was able to move the vehicle to the shoulder of the road. This was a very traumatic and terrifying experience for my whole family, we literally thought we were doing to die. Not to mention, there was no indication or warning that notified us on the dashboard. Since we were 100 miles from home, I had to have my vehicle towed, partially at my expense to the closest Ford dealership in California, which was still 40 miles from my home. The service department confirmed it was the differential, it took almost two weeks to get the part and to fix it. Since, my vehicle was practically brand new and only had 2000 miles on it, the repair was covered under warranty. I contacted Ford customer service and notified them of what happened. I requested them to buy back the vehicle, however they declined. Now I am stuck with a brand new $75,000 vehicle with only 2150 miles on it, that I do not feel safe driving my family in. If one major issue has already happened, then the probability of something else major happening is pretty good. I’m extremely disappointed in Ford for not standing by their vehicles.

The contact owns a 2023 Ford Expedition. The contact stated while driving at 15 MPH, the contact heard a loud popping sound and the vehicle was pulled to the right. The front passenger’s side wheel assembly and wheel were detached. The contact stated that due to the failure, the contact's vehicle damaged two vehicles that were parked on the street. The Toyota Sienna was scratched and damaged on the driver’s side of the rim and the driver's side door and rearview mirror. In addition, the Kia Sportage was scratched and damaged to the driver’s side of the bumper and the driver’s side of the vehicle. No Police report was filed. No injuries were sustained. Front struts faulty. Drivers side blew and all the fluid leaked out and the passenger side was leaking. Unknown safety issue but the vehicle only has 42,000 miles and has never been off road. Still has original tires, shouldn’t struts last longer than tires? The problem was confirmed by my local Ford dealer. I paid $1467.72 to have them replaced which is ridiculous for a vehicle with such low mileage. In my research I have found that this may be a widespread problem but there has been no recall. No warnings.

Recently, the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for a routine maintenance check; while being inspected, the contact was informed that the passenger’s side rear and driver’s side front struts had been saturated with oil. The passenger’s side front strut had also started to leak but was not saturated in oil. The dealer was notified of the failure. For months now I have noticed a significant increase in the handling of my car to the point it is erratic and almost hard to drive, I have had my alignment looked at and have also seen that the inside of my rear tires is wearing more than the others as told to me in service reports for my car. A recall was put out for my vehicle which seems to be affected by almost every single recall but it says my car is not affected by this one. Which is The rear suspension toe link fasteners may not have been properly tightened to the frame, possibly allowing separation from the frame and tighten the rear toe link fasteners, check and adjust the rear toe alignment, and inspect the rear tires for abnormal tire wear, replacing them if necessary. I think if anyone else has had similar issues this recall needs to be expanded to other vehicles.

the service engine light continues to turn on. the timing belt continues to fail and has already been replaced once. the camshaft on both sides have been replaced. the solenoids have also been replaced and the diagnostics codes still pop up (p0022) (p0021) are just some that i can remember. the engine does not have enough power on the driver side and throws the timing belt off which causes the loud rattle coming from the engine. when reaching the speed of 40-45 mph the truck begins to shake. recently in november 2023, when fueling up with gas , the truck began to shake and not respond. when accelerating, the truck takes off very slowly and the gears dont kick in on time. when the gas light comes on , the truck begins to function well. but as soon as i put gas again. it feels like the truck is going to fall apart. the driver door gets stuck when trying to open from the inside. the back door on the left does not open from the outside. the gear handle can be moved up and down while the truck is not turned on. please help!!
