Items in my bed and liner caught on fire. Engine regeneration for emissions got so hot melted all of the bed liner and caught a new large tv on fire. Ford has a glue on heat shield under bed which fell off. Exhaust gets so hot it caught on fire. They should have put a metal fixed plate or something fixed no a cheap glue on piece of foil. I inspected other trucks all missing!

I have had multiple incidents of my truck shutting off completely while driving. The latest incident resulted in a "catastrophic engine failure". In the latest incident occurring in April 2025, I was driving on [XXX] . [XXX] is a two-lane highway with no divider, navigating through mountainous terrain. I was driving up a hilly area when my truck shut off, and I lost all power steering. There is no shoulder on this part of the freeway, with an approximate 40-foot embankment. I was able to navigate the vehicle to the side of the road and position it just before the beginning of a guard rail beginning allowing me some grace. Due to no shoulder space, I was effectively parked on the white containment line of the road. I had my [XXX] daughter and wife in the car. I had to wait for a break in traffic to be able to open the driver's door due to the proximity to the active highway. I was safely get the truck towed to the nearest FORD dealership, where it was determined the engine was in "catastrophic failure" due to oil engine overfill. I informed FORD that my last oil change was with the FORD dealership and within the recommended time frame. I was informed by a technician that there is an ongoing issue with this engine make (6.4-liter, diesel). The technician stated that FORD is aware of the issue. The technician stated that fuel gets mixed with the oil and causes an "engine oil overfill". None of these issues stems from negligence but rather an unakknowledged issue by FORD. There was a check engine light that appeared at the time of failure. The check engine light had come on, at which point I contacted a mechanic to schedule an appointment. When I arrived for my appointment, the check engine light had disappeared, and I was told that no codes would alert if the actual check engine light was not on during the inspection. That same scenario occurred on approximately 3 occasions. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

On this day, I financed the vehicle and was promised that it was safe to be on the road. This is the second vehicle. He’s done this to me with. He gets these vehicles and just put stickers in the windows and then people break down or their lives are in jeopardy so I left there After I purchased the truck the following day I was driving and I noticed a bunch of defects which included a death wobble, front end parts being bad and engine light being on I took it to another shop and they said that it should’ve never even gotten an inspection sticker I also went on [XXX] and found out that the vehicle did not go through any emissions test and being a diesel it’s supposed to that’s why the engine lights are on on the third day of owing it. The driveshaft snapped right off this Dealership has multiple reviews and reports of being shady and just putting inspection stickers in the windows. He has somebody at another auto shop that he pays extra just to put the sticker in the window Not only is this unsafe for other people it’s not fair and it’s illegal and he does it all the time every vehicle on his lot has issues and the inspections are not done at alll so many issues half of them shouldn’t even be on the road. The dealership is. Low priced auto in Rome ny and the people Who inspect are sharkeys auto in Rome INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Vehicle died while driving on the freeway. Towed to the local Ford who did a diagnostic and test they found that the engine is completely done with as there was an engine oil overfill, and it filled the CAC system and melted cylinder eight piston. they’re saying that they will need to replace the entire engine and HP fuel pump in order to repair and I see many others have experienced this same problem.

The contact was advised that the fuel injector straps, fuel injectors, and several fuel hoses needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 40,000.

Vehicle shut off while driving, just missed getting hit. Seeing recalls for the same issue with the fuel system and being rejected for them to admit and take accountability for the issue. As this is on recall for 2019 and up. Same issue cracked fuel system circulated through complete fuel system.

Several months ago I noticed a shrill whining noise coming from the engine compartment. Upon closer inspection, I observed raw emissions coming from the exhaust manifold. Upon research I noticed that this was a very common problem with the 6.7 diesel between 2011 and 2014 with Ford even putting out a service bulletin (SSM50330) and designing repair parts and new heads for their defective design of exhaust studs. The repair of this defective part is very costly and they expect the owners of the vehicles to bear the entire cost of this repair. This is not only a safety issue because of exhaust gases entering the cab of the vehicle, but is also an EPA issue because these gases are passing directly to the atmosphere without being treated or going through the catalytic converter!

Engine is the 2.7 Ecoboost and is becoming louder and louder with many ticks and sounds whether you are driving or idling the vehicle at a stop light. Every morning the engine ticks and revs very high and emits huge billowing white smoke from the exhaust whether it’s warm or cold outside. Believe the engine is needing to be replaced in the upcoming recall from ford for the exact engine.

We have a 2012 Ford F30 Diesel and We are having issues with one of the Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensors (Bank 1 Sensor 3) which would have been covered under Ford's Recall Campaign# 15M02. However, since our vehicle is 11 years and 9 mo old, they are declining coverage as the campaign is limited to 11 years.

While driving 60 mph, in heavy rain, flat roadway the vehicle down shifted from 6th gear to 4th and from 6th gear to 3rd several times. The shift to 3rd from 6th was hard and accompanied by a temporary loss of forward momentum. No check engine light came on. All temperature gauges remained within normal range. The tachometer jumped and fell wildly during each of the events. I pulled off the highway at the next exit, turned off the ignition, and waited a few minutes. I restarted the truck and proceeded without additional problems.

Summary: We purchased a brand new 60000 dollar truck in 2012 or 2013 and was assured by the dealer that it had a warranty to cover any issues until either 100,000 miles or 5-6 years, whichever came first. After 4 years of ownership and around 67,000 miles, the truck started experiencing problems with a high idle and then abruptly shutting off. When taken to the dealer, they couldn't replicate the issues during a brief evaluation. However, a week later, while on the way to the bank, to get cash out for are stay at the hospital to give birth to are 6th child the truck shut off and wouldn't start again. The dealer diagnosed the problem as a faulty high-pressure fuel pump due to water in the fuel and tried to charge the author $15,000 for repairs. The author questioned why the diesel fuel water separator and the second fuel filter system on the truck didn't catch the issue earlier and criticized the dealer for their negligence in ensuring safe and reliable transportation.
