Odometer Fraud. The contact called on behalf of his client, who purchased a 2011 Ford F-350. The contact stated that while the client was in the process of selling the vehicle to a dealer, the dealer retrieved the Carfax report and informed the client that the odometer had been rolled back and that the vehicle could not be sold. The vehicle was a private sale. At the time of the purchase, the mileage was 128,530, and a dealer later informed the client that the mileage on the Carfax report was 345,000. The current mileage displayed on the odometer was 147,000. No other agency was contacted.

The contact owns a 2004 Ford F-350. The contact stated that while driving approximately 76 MPH with his wife in the front passenger seat, the vehicle shuddered uncontrollably and stalled. The contact and his wife were concerned for their safety. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact was able to regain control of the vehicle and pulled over to the side of the road. The vehicle failed to restart and was towed to the residence. The contact stated that as an independent mechanic, he used a code reader to retrieve diagnostic trouble codes for the fuel control module wiring harness failure. The contact related to the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 05V270000 (Electrical System). The contact stated that the fuel control module wiring harness failure had caused warning lights to fail to illuminate as needed. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle had previously been repaired under the recall. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that an elbow vacuum tubing connector was previously replaced under the recall; however, the contact advised the manufacturer that the recall involved replacing the entire fuel control module wiring harness. The manufacturer informed the contact that the recall was already marked completed and no further repairs could be covered. The contact stated that the dealer and the manufacturer had failed to honor the recall repair. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 190,019.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Since my vehicle has been in warranty I've had intermittent issues where my vehicle loses track of what gear its in and forces downshift to 1st gear. For the most part this only happened when I was going slower speeds. I told my Ford dealer about it but they said there were no recalls for it. On Wednesday while driving at highway speeds my dash lights indicating the transmission position began to flicker then my vehicle downshifted to first gear locking up the tires and screeching me to a near halt.

Vehicle stalls while driving and wont start again suddenly while operating. Fuel injectors won’t feed fuel line to restart or operate. Occasional start but then stalls continuously until battery dies from trying. Will start when priming the carburetor however will not stay running and stalls out.

While driving 60 mph, in heavy rain, flat roadway the vehicle down shifted from 6th gear to 4th and from 6th gear to 3rd several times. The shift to 3rd from 6th was hard and accompanied by a temporary loss of forward momentum. No check engine light came on. All temperature gauges remained within normal range. The tachometer jumped and fell wildly during each of the events. I pulled off the highway at the next exit, turned off the ignition, and waited a few minutes. I restarted the truck and proceeded without additional problems.

there has been intense rust and corrosion in the roof seams and welds. This has led to water leaks and damage to the interior of the vehicle. The integrity of the roof has been compromised, and I am concerned about the possibility of roof crush should there be an accident. Not to mention the mold, rot and damage to the interior and electrical systems I have already suffered due to the defect. On February 3, 2023, I contacted the Ford Motors helpline and spoke to [XXX] (direct phone # [XXX] ext [XXX]) to discuss the issue.[XXX] created a request for a buyback and assigned a case number of [XXX]. She also requested that I send photos to [XXX] and visit the local Ford dealership so they could assess the vehicle and share the information with her. I was able to make an apt for Feb 6,2023 @ 10:50 with [XXX] @ Envision ford of Oxnard. When I arrived for the assessment, [XXX] did one walk around the vehicle (he did not inspect the roof at all) and then said he couldn’t help me as he this was a Ford issue, and they were a franchise. I contacted [XXX] with follow up from that meeting, as well as photos of the vehicle. About two weeks after this apt. [XXX] said the case was closed. I am extremely disappointed with how this case was handled, especially considering the significant investment I made in purchasing and maintaining it my vehicle. When I made the original investment I was told that the engine would last up to a million miles…but never imagined the body would be worthless at the 300,00 mark. There is so much damage to the roof that I currently keep my vehicle parked instead of using it. INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-350. The contact stated that while the vehicle was idling smoke appeared between the driver's side front and rear door panels. The contact stated that prior to the failure the electrical door and window switch functioned intermittently. The contact stated that an unknown warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed the failure as a defective door wiring harness due to brittle wires from constantly opening and closing the doors. The contact was informed that the wiring harness needed to be replaced. Additionally, the contact stated that the wires were melted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was opened. The failure mileage was 80,794.

[XXX], [XXX] approx age 40 lives and works at [XXX].[XXX] can also control the computers to cancel out and delete the use of catalytic converters, delete the use of DEF intake, delete the use of DPF particulate filters, and not react to controls such as manual braking or acceleration because the computer is controlling when and not the driver. [XXX] strictly states that he cannot have any emissions controls such as EGR, DEF, DPF, catalyst, or any pollutant controls. [XXX] intentionally set it up to have flaws and be dangerous for one reason: to get the customer to keep returning again and again with vehicle problems, wiring electrical problems, performance problems, overheating problems, and never ending engine problems not to mention transmission problems because the transmission could not handle the increased output of the engine. The hydroboost and ABS module and master cylinder that controls the brakes can be easily rigged so that when the driver stomps on the brakes, there is no braking action whatsoever for a 3-5 second delay before skidding the tires and locking the brakes. [XXX] altered the hydroboost and ABS module and master cylinder and the electronic controls to the braking system. [XXX] [XXX] partner admitted the hydrobooster and master cylinder was the problem because he admitted what [XXX] did as sabotage to the customer’s truck. [XXX] deletes the DPF and DEF and the electronics rewiring the truck. [XXX] has a pattern of keeping customers vehicles for excessively long periods of time: 42 days to change batteries, change fuel pump change PCM fusebox and rewire truck. [XXX] has removed the all the catalytic converters and he has removed all the EGR and emissions pollutant controls on [XXX]. [XXX] has sabotaged this truck’s braking system, electrical systems, fuse box wiring, electronic braking wiring, accelerator electronic control.
