The vehicle is equipped with “rain-sensing windshield wipers” but they do not work due to poor design. They should not have failed this quickly (33,000 or so miles). The windshield wipers must be manually activated because of this defect, but since the manufacturer thought they would be automatic, they made the manual activation very hard to access. It is very dangerous trying to activate them while operating the vehicle because A) your eyes are off the road for an extended period in poor conditions and B) the control is in a hard-to-reach area. You have to turn the nob 6-7 positions to put the wipers on low or high, and for the first 5 positions the windshield wipers don’t activate.
NHTSA complaint #11747075 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.
On multiple occasions the center screen has been non operational when we start the car and just shows a black screen. The volume knob and screen power button are non-responsive. When this occurs the backup camera is inoperable, which is mandatory safety equipment. the HVAC also cannot be adjusted which could cause a windshield fogging condition which is a safety concern. The vehicle has been to the dealer 3 times for screen problems and the issue has not been resolved. When this occurs the problem persists for a few ignition cycles or for up to a couple of days and then will start functioning again. We have not been able to determine any specific condition that is causing the failure.

While operating my 2026 GMC Yukon AT4 (VIN [XXX] ) on [XXX] Pelahatchie, Mississippi, the panoramic moonroof spontaneously shattered at highway speed. No impact, no debris strike, no external cause. The failure produced a violent report and showered tempered glass into the cabin, forcing an emergency stop on the shoulder during heavy commercial truck traffic — a serious secondary-collision risk caused directly by the failure. I spent hours roadside clearing glass and duct-taping the open roof aperture to make the vehicle minimally drivable. Nighttime wind forced an unplanned overnight stay in north Alabama before a multi-hundred-mile drive back to Washington, DC with the vehicle compromised. In DC, I was forced to park the visibly compromised vehicle in a high-foot-traffic area with work valuables that could not be removed, then drive 20 miles to the dealer in heavy rain the next morning — exposing cabin, electrical systems, child seating positions, and headliner to water intrusion. The shattered glass fell directly above the second-row positions where my [XXX] and [XXX] daughters ride daily. They were not present. Had they been, close-range tempered glass would have created serious risk of injury to face, eyes, and airway, plus driver-distraction crash risk at highway speed. The vehicle is approximately [XXX] weeks old. This is the second manufacturing safety defect in under one month — the first a second-row driver-side captain's chair latch defect, filed separately. Replacement moonroof glass is on national back order until ~June 1, 2026; the vehicle will be out of service over six weeks. NHTSA's 2017-2021 panoramic sunroof investigation closed without action despite thousands of similar complaints. The pattern continues into the 2026 model year on GM's flagship full-size SUV. I urge NHTSA to track this and similar reports across the 2025-2026 Yukon, Tahoe, Suburban, and Escalade for a defect investigation. Vehicle can be completely off and windshield wipers are still going. So you have to pop the hood and pull fuse out. If you want to use them ( it starts raining, dirty windshield) you have to stop pop the hood and put fuse in. Has been in shop almost weekly repaired every part they could possible switch and still not repaired.

I am experiencing ongoing issues with the infotainment system in my vehicle, which has remained unresolved despite multiple service visits. The system frequently blacks out, reboots while driving, and fails to function entirely at times, for days at a time. This is more than an inconvenience — it presents several serious safety concerns, including: •Loss of the rearview camera and parking assist features, making reversing hazardous. •Inability to access hands-free calling and navigation, increasing the risk of driver distraction and noncompliance with hands-free driving laws. •Disruption of access to climate controls and safety alerts that are routed through the infotainment system. •Frequent system crashes while driving, which divert my attention from the road. These issues compromise both the safety and usability of the vehicle, and I am requesting immediate action to resolve the problem under warranty.

On multiple occasions, more recently 03/28/2025, the windshield wipers would stop working. On 3/28/25 in pouring rain at night the front windshield wipers were working and then stopped. The rear window continued to work. I finally found somewhere to safely pull over and check fuses for front and back wipers. They were both good and I even swapped the fuses for front and back and the back wipers continued to work while the front would not. This continued on our our trip in rain and even the next morning the front wipers would not come on. An hour later driving (with the wiper switch in the OFF position) the front wipers came on. I switched the switch to on and they were functioning. This has happed several time in the 6 months of new ownership with the dealership denying they have ever heard of such a problem. As we arrived to our destination and telling the story to the other families we were meeting another family there said they just had the same exact problem on their 2024 Yukon denali on the trip too. This put 2 families in a very dangerous situation. As I google this problem there are multiple reviews of individuals with this same problem.

Windshield wipers quit working while raining and driving. I was able to get home even though I couldn’t see. I tried turning the car on and off multiple times and testing the windshield wipers but they still didn’t work. After about 10 mins, I restarted the car and the wipers worked again. I took video of the wipers not working while the car was on. They will work fine and then all of the sudden while it is raining they will stop work. This is the second time this has happened in 4 months.
NHTSA complaint #11629996 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.
Serious Safety Issue: While driving in the Rain, with the wipers on (actively working), randomly they will stop working. They will not work again until 10-15 minutes of time has passed. Any alternative setting makes no difference. During the 10-15 minutes of non-working wipers, there is nothing the driver can do…. Except wait. Depending where and when this occurs, this could be a deadly safety issue. I’ve checked the fuse; Turned off the rain auto-sensing feature – yet the vehicle is scary to drive in the rain, not knowing if / when the wipers may stop working again. During my ownership of this vehicle, this has happened three times; of course you must be driving during rain for the issue to occur.

Windshield wipers quit working. I turned off the rain sensing feature and they did not work even then. This is the second complaint I am filing on this vehicle. The vehicle is at the dealership for the second time to address this issue. Very very unsafe! they will work fine and then all of the sudden while it is raining they will stop working. Night time is the worst.

I used the remote to open the rear hatch and pressed the button on the hatch to close it. While it was closing it traveled about half way back down and the rear window on the hatch exploded in my face. Glass went everywhere behind the SUV in a 5ft radius. I'm getting it repaired this upcoming Monday.

Brand new vehicle, at about 5k miles the backup camera went out in April 2023. It is now December of 2023 and I have not had any sort of resolution. I have 3 children ages 2, 4 and 5 and it is very concerning for me and my wife to not have a backup camera especially at night.

DRIVING DOWN AN INTERSTATE ON A CLEAR SUNNY DAY 70 DEGREES. THERE WERE NO VEHICLES NEARBY OR AN OVERPASS. IT WAS ME, MY HUSBAND AND OUR DOG IN THE VEHICLE. OUT OF NOWHERE WE HEARD A LARGE BANG AND I NOTICED THE SUNROOF WAS SHATTERED. IT TOOK ALL MY HUSBAND ALL HE COULD TO FROM WRECKING. THANKFULLY I THOUGHT TO CLOSE THE SUNROOF SHADE SO MORE GLASS WOULDN'T LAND IN THE VEHICLE. THERE WERE SHARDS 9F GLASS EVERYWHERE. WE PURCHASE OUR 2021 YUKON 3 MONTHS AGO. SO WE WERE IN A NEW VEHICLE WITH APPROXIMATELY 5K MILES. VERY SCARY AND I WAS STILL SHAKING ONCE WE WERE ABLE TO EXIT THE INTERSTATE. THE SAFETY GUIDELINES FOR PANORAMIC SUNROOF NEED TO BE UPDATED! I HAD NO IDEA THIS WAS AN ISSUE.
