What owners said

2001 Honda Accord Hemet, CA

AIR BAGS

My airbag srs light turned on and did research that there was a recall on my vehicle. I’m concerned and worried about my safety due to the airbags.

NHTSA complaint #11758388 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.

2020 Honda Accord Pomeroy, OH

AIR BAGS

My parked 2020 Honda Accord had a spontaneous side curtain airbag deployment with the engine off, which matches the known humidity/short-circuit sensor defects that are currently under Federal safety recall. The deployment caused damage to the interior of my car, as well! There have been no warnings, indications or issues before. There was no collision or impact of any sort. The car will not start and had to be towed to Hugh White Honda, Columbus Rd. Athens, OH. The service department reported that they can’t find the “why” of how it occurred, nor would they be able to repair the damage that occurred from the airbag deployment. The insurance agent said without visible “cause” they will deny any claim.

NHTSA complaint #11757820 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.

2018 Honda Accord Zionsville, IN

AIR BAGS

Starting in the middle of July my 2018 Accord began showing a "Supplemental Restraint System Problem. See Your Dealer." message. Upon dealer(Ed Martin Honda) inspection it was found that the passenger seat airbag sensor was faulty and needed replaced. Upon checking I found that there is a recall for the faulty sensor but my VIN is not included. I urge further inspection as this appears to be a more wide spread issue than Honda is reporting.

2018 Honda Accord at 68,000 miles Punta Gorda, FL

AIR BAGS

The contact owns a 2018 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving approximately 40 MPH, the air bag warning light illuminated, and the message "SRS Fault - See Dealer" was displayed. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that rodent had eaten through the wiring and that the wiring insulation was soy-based, and the air bag cable and the harness cable needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 68,000.

NHTSA complaint #11754483 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.

2017 Honda Accord Ocean Springs, MS Crash

AIR BAGS

This vehicle was involved in an accident. The car crashed into a concrete barrier separating the interstate highway. The front passenger airbag appeared to only partly deploy, and the driver air bag did not deploy.

NHTSA complaint #11750789 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.

2018 Honda Accord Zionsville, IN

AIR BAGS

On June 24th, 2026, I received a warning for "Supplemental Restraint System Problem". The airbag Dash indicator illuminated on the dash. The issue is intermittent and the warning has appeared on five separate occasions since. The message had went away when the vehicle has been turned off and has not appear every time the car is running. It does appear mid-travel on occasion. The issue is consistent with the passenger airbag sensor failure description recall that is associated with other VIN Numbers for the 2028 Accord but my VIN is not listed in the recall.

NHTSA complaint #11750732 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.

2019 Honda Accord at 185,000 miles Telford, PA

The vehicle was taken to a dealer, but the failure was not duplicated. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 185,000.

2019 Honda Accord Tehachapi, CA

AIR BAGS

My Honda accord keeps trying to turn off in the middle of the fwy and I know it’s due to the fuel pump, I have a misfire and all the warning lights came on. This is due to Honda having the fuel pump recalled that has damaged all the fuel injectors. It took them almost a year to get the recall parts and now myself and a ton of others are now having to pay for these fuel injectors to have a car that doesn't stall and die on the road. Honda should have taken care of this knowing it damaged the fuel injectors.also issue with air bad supplemental issues

NHTSA complaint #11746099 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.

2018 Honda Accord Mount Kisco, NY 1 injured

AIR BAGS

Side airbags deployed while driving for no reason/ no collision. Yes the car is available for inspection. The car was towed to a mechanic shop, while I was picked up by an ambulance. Yes my safety was put at risk as the airbags were deployed while car was in motion, knocking me out unconscious, leaving the car in motion possibly putting others at risk as well. I finally came to and was able to press the brake before any collision could happen. There were no warning signs prior. This incident caused me dizziness , headache , and with neck pain.

NHTSA complaint #11745307 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.

2019 Honda Accord Pikesville, MD

AIR BAGS

SRS weight sensor failure-- triggers the dashboard warning light and disables my passenger airbag. My SRS light is on continuously. There is a current Honda recall for this issue for my make and model; however, do to my VIN not being listed, the Honda dealership wants to charge me a diagnostic fee plus the repair costs for the exact issue that the current recall is listed for. My VIN needs to be added. I should not have to come out of pocket to pay for this when I'm having the exact issue listed in the recall. My SRS light being on continuously is a MAJOR Safety concern because it disables the airbags--so in the event of an accident, the airbags will not deploy. I contacted Honda Corporate and they created a case--Case number 16432964 for this issue--but they told me it would be possibly months to get anything done and I would still have to pay out of pocket first. NHTSA RECALL NUMBER: 26V-332 CAMPAIGN DESCRIPTION: 2018-22 Accord, Accord Hyb Seat Weight Sensor Recall Exp RECALL DATE: 05/21/2026 I have a service appointment on XXX @830AM at the Honda of Owings Mill Address: [XXX] Phone: [XXX] I am also experiencing the phantom braking issue (unintended activation of the Collision Mitigation Braking System) when there is no object in sight. The fix seams to be updating the Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), which often require software updates and sensor recalibration. The dealership wants to charge me for this as well. 2015 Honda Accord Long Beach, CA Crash 1 injured

AIR BAGS

An accident occurred in my vehicle on 05/29/2026. It resulted in both air bags deploying even though the passenger side that was involved in the collision and damaged. It was considered a total loss due to the frame and passenger side as well as both air bags deployments. The driver sustained major lacerations on his forearm and was bleeding profusely from his arm during the time of the accident. The vehicle did not have comprehensive insurance therefore had to be salvaged and sold to the junk yard.

2021 Honda Accord Frisco, TX

AIR BAGS

I have 2 issues and not sure if they are related 1.SRS system light came on and says see dealership. This one happened about 2 weeks ago. 2. While driving today all the lights on my dash came on including the check engine and all warning notices were going off. I was driving when this happened and it was alarming because I didn’t know if my car was going to die while I was driving. Neither problem have been confirmed by the dealership because they want 199 just to diagnose and does not include repair cost No one has inspected the vehicle No previous warning signs prior to either of these both happening

NHTSA complaint #11741089 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.

2018 Honda Accord Carteret, NJ

The SRS (Supplemental Restraint System) warning light is lit up on dashboard. Does not go away. Mentioned it to the dealership and I was told having items in the seat could trigger it or if there not enough weight. But even if there nothing or someone in my passenger seat the SRS aways come up.
