On July 9-11, 2026, an authorized Honda dealership performed Honda Safety Recall 24-040 involving the fuel pump motor and Honda campaign 21-076 involving replacement of the fuel tank. Approximately five days and 371 miles after the fuel tank replacement, the gasoline pump nozzle became stuck in the fuel filler pipe while refueling. I returned to the same dealership on July 16, 2026. The dealership documented that the pipe guide was “misaligned inside the filler neck” and was “obstructing the fuel hose while refueling the tank.” The dealership reinstalled the filler-neck guide in the correct position and replaced the flap main set under warranty. This problem occurred almost immediately after the dealership had replaced the fuel tank. I have continued experiencing unresolved concerns involving the vehicle after these fuel-system repairs. Because the dealership's own records document a misaligned component shortly after its fuel-tank repair, I no longer have confidence in returning the vehicle to that specific dealership for additional work on the same system. I escalated the matter to American Honda Corporate, including a case manager and a supervisor, and requested assistance obtaining a resolution without returning to the same dealership. Those efforts have not produced a satisfactory remedy. I have been directed back toward dealership-level service despite explaining my documented concerns with the prior repair. I am requesting assistance ensuring that the vehicle receives a safe and effective repair through another qualified authorized Honda facility and that the continuing fuel-system concern is properly evaluated. Repair orders documenting the recall work, subsequent misaligned filler-neck component, and corrective repair are available and are being submitted with this complaint.

For the last few months I have had an intermittent issue with my 2016 ex-l v6 accord. It started as occasional stalling at traffic lights. The car would stall out, and after about 20 seconds I could turn the car back on, and drive without issues. Sometimes the issue would repeat itself multiple times in a day, and then go weeks without another instance. Then one day I was driving the car and had another stalling event. I had the car towed to the Honda dealership and they were unable to replicate or diagnose the issue. A few weeks later, I had another stalling event. I turned the car back on, and was able to continue driving. I got on to the interstate, and then even though the car was still on, when I push the gas, nothing happened, no acceleration or increase in RPMs. When I pulled over, the car would stall out. I would wait about a minute and turn it back on, and it would be drivable. This happened about four times. Then as I was headed into the tunnel, the car shut off entirely, and I lost power braking completely. I nearly got into an accident with the vehicles in front of me inside the tunnel at highway speeds. This was Father's day, June 21, 2026. I pulled off the interstate, and had the car towed to the dealership again. The dealership was unable to find any issues. The problem happened again today (08/19/26). I was driving the vehicle and was unable to accelerate while pushing the gas, and had multiple stallouts in traffic. I was able to quickly get the vehicle to the dealership, and they finally were to able replicate the issue. They pulled fuel from the fuel line and found it to be much darker than gasoline, with sediment inside. They pulled off the fuel pump and saw that the filter was clogged, but did not fully understand why. The filter is attached directly to the pump itself. On XXX, about 8:30 a.m., in clear, sunny weather, I was turning my 2024 Honda Accord Sport Hybrid into a marked parking space. My foot was off the accelerator; I applied light brake pressure while the vehicle moved under 5 mph. Without warning, it suddenly and spontaneously accelerated at high speed. Within seconds it drove over a concrete parking stop, traveled through dense landscaping, and collided into a palm tree that prevented it moving forward. I immediately powered it off. The airbag did not deploy; no warning message preceded the acceleration. Before repair, Germain Honda scanned the vehicle; May 28 invoice the Shop Foreman and a Honda District Parts & Service Manager inspected it. The report’s Page 1 checklist all items marked green "Satisfactory" and no damage noted in vehicle diagrams. This is not reconciled with the packet's Lighting "NG" and B1036 results or estimates documenting a shattered right headlamp. The invoice attributes many codes to headlight/bumper impact but identifies neither the codes nor the basis. Native HDS data was not provided. Pre-repair records from Germain Honda (May 28), Caliber/ProTech (XXX), and Crash Champions (XXX) record DTCs/faults involving propulsion/powertrain, braking, network, steering, driver assistance, restraint, and body controls. They do not establish when findings arose or whether any caused or contributed to the event. After repair, on XXX, Honda of [XXX] reported zero DTCs. The precise cause remains unknown. I believe Speed Control, Brakes, and Fuel/Propulsion System most likely caused or contributed to the sudden spontaneous acceleration, complete loss of control, crash, and vehicle damage. If this same event occurred at a stop sign or stoplight, significant injuries and potential fatalities would have occurred to myself, or any pedestrians, animals, and vehicles in its path. The fueling system is/has failed. The car randomly stops accelerating while on the highway. Yes, it's available for inspections. The car has stopped accelerating while I was on I95, causing others to have slammed on breaks & swerved to avoid hitting me. Yes. Not yet. No, they only appeared after the failure cause the automatic functions to be disabled as well.

Vehicle caused a SEVERE drivability condition while at highway speeds by sputtering, losing power and auxiliary driver's systems becoming degraded. We were able to drive the vehicle in limp mode to a near service station. They ran diagnostics and determined that there were multiple secondary events affecting the ADAS system. They also checked the battery and determined it was marginally good. We managed to drive the vehicle in degraded mode to our home and we changed the battery the following day. Upon doing so, all affected systems became available again and the vehicle's driveability profile was restored. This behavior is incredibly unsettling and UNSAFE. A vehicle that is so sensitive to electrical fluctuations should have BETTER warning systems that would prevent, or at least advise the driver, that an unsafe condition will occur unless the battery is promptly replaced. This behavior could easily cause an accident if the driver is unprepared to react to the vehicle sudden and unpredictable shutdown of engine power and safety systems. This needs to be investigated and corrective measures need to be promptly proposed to affected vehicle.

I was driving on the highway in Michigan, the speed limit is 70 mph. All of a sudden, I noticed that my car acceleration was not working. It ended up my engine misfired and in doing so, I could not go more than 20 mph on the actual highway!!! it was absolutely terrifying, even when I put on my emergency lights, I had to find a place to safely pull aside. I still had to pull out in front of someone to try to get off the exit, so pulling out in front of someone at 20 mph on the highway was petrifying. Once, I finally was able to pull into a safe place. I immediately called my insurance company and Honda about the misfiring of my engine. My car was then towed to a Honda dealership, where technicians diagnosed a blown head gasket caused by coolant leaking into a cylinder. The only warning light was the “check engine” flashing light when I was unable to drive more than 20 mph. My vehicle went limp. The repair required replacement of the head gasket at significant personal expense About $6k +.

The contact owns a 2019 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, several unknown warning lights illuminated. The vehicle lost motive power and went into LIMP Mode, and the steering wheel seized. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, and the failure was initially misdiagnosed. The vehicle was then towed to the dealer a second time, and the dealer discovered that the battery and fuel injectors needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was later diagnosed, and it was determined that a gasket had failed. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure persisted. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. At approximately 44,000 miles, multiple warning lights illuminated on the dashboard of my 2018 Honda Accord (1.5L turbocharged engine), including brake system, electric power steering, and driver-assistance/collision-mitigation warnings, accompanied by a rough start and an engine misfire. I took the vehicle to an authorized Honda dealer, which performed a diagnostic scan and a borescope inspection. The dealer confirmed engine coolant leaking internally into cylinder 3, a confirmed cylinder 3 misfire (code P0303), and a low coolant reservoir, and advised that the vehicle was not safe to drive. The diagnostic scan also returned fault codes across multiple safety systems, including ABS/VSA stability control, electric power steering, the electric brake booster (low-voltage power circuit fault), and the driver-assistance/collision-mitigation system. This is a head gasket failure allowing coolant to enter the cylinders — a failure mode widely reported on this engine — and it occurred at low mileage, creating a risk of engine misfire, stalling, and loss of power. No crash, fire, or injury has occurred. The dealer's repair order documenting these findings is available on request. I have reported this to the Honda corporate, and they are not responding and stalling the delivery or any update on the case. It has been 3 weeks, and it is causing prolonged inconvience and safety issue to me and my family

My Accord reported multiple warnings at engine start up (check engine light, warnings about cruise control, etc.), and the engine ran rougher than normal. I immediately drove to a Honda dealer for service. The Honda dealer, Checkered Flag Honda of Norfolk, Virginia, diagnosed a blown head gasket in cylinder 2, which allowed all coolant to drain into the engine. They also indicated that fuel injectors and spark plugs were compromised and required replacement. The vehicle has approximately 75,000 miles, has received regular maintenance, and was operated in normal driving conditions.

While driving my 2023 Honda Accord Hybrid, the vehicle suddenly displayed multiple warning messages, including a Check Engine Light, and immediately entered limp mode. Engine power was significantly reduced, making it difficult to accelerate and safely keep up with surrounding traffic. This unexpected loss of power created a potential safety hazard because the vehicle could not respond normally to throttle input. The vehicle was diagnosed by an authorized Honda dealership. The dealer confirmed Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P2101 and determined that the throttle body assembly had failed. The throttle body assembly and gasket were replaced, and a software update was also performed before the vehicle could be safely driven again. I paid approximately $670.34 for the repair at the Honda dealership. After researching this issue, I found reports from other owners of recent Honda Accord Hybrid vehicles experiencing similar P2101 throttle body failures resulting in limp mode. I am submitting this complaint because an unexpected throttle body failure that causes a vehicle to enter limp mode while driving may present a safety risk, especially if it occurs in traffic or during highway driving. I believe this issue should be reviewed to determine whether it affects additional vehicles.
