The contact owns a 2023 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, smoke started coming from underneath the front driver’s side seat. The contact looked down and became aware that the front driver’s side seat belt anchor had caught fire. No warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle had been involved in a crash prior to the fire, and the front passenger’s side of the vehicle had crashed into rear left door of another vehicle. No injuries were sustained, and no medical attention was needed. The contact exited the vehicle and contacted the local Fire Department. The Fire Department arrived on the scene and extinguished the fire. A Police report was filed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.

The car was sold to me in 2021 with no airbags and no working seatbelt in the back passenger seat. The car was bought at AX Auto in Atlanta Ga. I have been in touch with them and they keep ignorning me and will not fix this issue.

I was traveling North on Highway 55 in Huntsville, AL when I put the car in sport mode all of the error lights came on immediately. This has happened on several occasions. My passenger seat belt error always comes on. When I call about getting the recall fixed it could never be done because the dealer ships says the parts are not available.

Brand new 2024 Honda Accord touring purchased on Oct.3, 2023. Started having issues with the braking system around June 18, 2024. I contacted Sons Honda where the car was purchased. Sons told me to contact American Honda. I contacted American Honda and we were in a back and forth conversation for 18 months. until they offered me $3000, which was not enough to start to fix the several other issues with the brand new car (lemon). Luckily, no accidents have happened yet. I would like to mediate with American Honda, NTSB, and myself for at least $6,000 , so I can start to have the vehicle repaired. Along with the other minor issues I have with the brand new car (lemon). The vehicle has a host of recalls that makes the car more unsafe to operate.

I bought my vehicle around May 2024. Initially, everything seemed fine. However, I noticed that my car was starting to slow down and would enter limp mode, preventing me from exceeding a certain mileage. Subsequently, all the lights on my dashboard began flashing, prompting me to pull over and call a mechanic shop. I had all the necessary maintenance and repairs performed as per the plan. After starting the vehicle, all the lights turned off, and it drove smoothly. A few weeks later, all the lights came back on again, and nothing showed on the OB2 Reader, which I thought was odd because something shouldve popped up if all the lights on my dashboard was going all crazy. The mechanic said the same thing and maybe thought it was the battery, sensors going bad, or even the wiring. But he checked everything and said he didnt find any issues. So I went home and the lights on the dashboard stayed on for 30 seconds and then turned off after I started the car. The lights turning on all at once on the dashboard became more frequent and this time, the check engine light illuminated, indicating a misfiring issue. I took the vehicle to a mechanic shop for a thorough inspection, and they made a few minor adjustments. However, two months later, the same problem recurred. All the lights came on again, and the vehicle misfired once more, accompanied by the check engine light. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the issue was a head gasket leak. Additionally, the seat belt alert for the passenger and rear seats, as well as the child car seat, failed to function properly.

The right-hand-side rear seat belt buckle has been under the seat ever since the vehicle was purchased in November 2024. I did not notice it at first. Recently, when I started dropping my daughter off at school, I noticed it. I tried pulling the buckle up, but it's completely stuck under the seat. I asked a local mechanic to pull it out. He gave me an estimate of $1000 because it requires disassembling the seat to remove the buckle. Now, I avoid using the vehicle to drop off my daughter. When I have to use the vehicle, I use the left-side buckle with the right-side strap. This is completely the manufacturer's incompetence and neglect toward passenger safety.

On June 9, 2025, I was involved in a motor vehicle accident while driving my 2016 Honda Accord. During the crash, the seatbelt system failed in a way that caused severe force to my body rather than restraining me properly. The seatbelt detached and violently pulled my body, resulting in significant injuries. The force from the seatbelt failure ruptured my right breast implant, which required surgical replacement. I was transported by ambulance to Loyola Hospital, where CT scans and ultrasound confirmed the rupture. I have since undergone surgery and continue to experience ongoing medical issues including nerve symptoms and physical therapy. In addition, the airbags did not deploy during the collision, which raised additional concerns about the vehicle’s safety systems. Because of the unusual behavior of the restraint system during the crash, I am reporting this as a potential safety defect. After researching online, I discovered other drivers reporting seatbelt and safety-related issues with similar Honda Accord model years. Because the seatbelt system is a critical safety component designed to protect occupants during a crash, I believe this incident should be documented and reviewed for possible defects. This report is being submitted so that the issue can be investigated and documented for public safety.

My vehicle's right driver seat buckle assembly is failing. My seat belt will not latch making my vehicle unsafe and unlawful to drive in the State of Florida. I first noticed this problem on Friday, February 13, 2026. There is currently a safety recall on my vehicle (2018-2029 Honda Accord). I registered my car through [XXX] and noticed that there were two recalls for my vehicle. The two recalls are the seat belt malfunction and fuel pump, which neither repair has been completed on my vehicle. I contacted the dealership on Monday, February 16, 2026 and advised them that i have a failing seat belt on the driver side. I provided them with my vehicle VIN and they advised that I only qualified for one of the repairs (fuel pump). After speaking with the dealership the seat belt recall was removed from my account. I also contacted the manufacturer and they told me the same thing regarding the recall needed to be associated with my VIN number. The Service Bulletin 23-016 was issued on March 10, 2023 and updated on March 24, 2023, I purchased my vehicle on December 8, 2023. The dealership is refusing to repair the seat belt and requiring me to pay out of pocket because the recall is not attached to my VIN. However, the recall is for all 2018-2019 Honda Accord Models. Due to a current recall in place, I should not have to pay out of pocket. I reviewed the Service Bulletin in detail and I am having the exact problem with my vehicle. I would like to escalate this issue to require Honda to cover the charges for this repair. It is not normal for seat belts to fail, I have seen cars 15-20 years old that do not experience these issues. Even those in the junk yard have working seat belts. So, this is not some random incident it is due to the recall. Due to this being a safety hazard I am seeking your assistance regarding the matter. I noticed all of the rear seats will show gray on the cluster indicating no occupants are in the seat, when a person is actually sitting there and is not buckled. Increasing the risk of injury in a crash. Once the rear seat occupant buckles (if they buckle) the seat belt, a green check light will appear on the screen alerting the driver, and after will display a red light indicating when that occupant has unbuckled. This was confirmed but could not be repaired by the Honda Service Department today, when I had the 2023-25 HYB ICM SW UPDATE SAFETY RECALL resolved.

On December 26, 2025, the supplemental restraint system problem appeared on the dashboard. On January 6, 2026, vehicle was taken to Stockton Honda service department to performed a diagnostic test and multi-point inspection was completed. During this time the diagnostic results showed a code B0020-13, open or increased resistance in the left side airbag inflator. They recommend starting with the inflator replacement parts, SRS unit and program, and driver seat belt.

The car was in a very minor incident. It rear ended another vehicle at low speed. There were scratches as the only damage to the vehicles. Despite this very low impact, the seatbelts went off with smoke and no longer function. The safety systems light (airbag, seatbelts) is now on. The car is no longer safe to drive because the front seat belts (both buckled, passenger's was only occupied by a backpack) are locked up and reeled in.

On June 9, 2025, my 2016 Honda Accord’s driver seatbelt detached and yanked my body with excessive force during a collision, it felt like not lifted me up to the roof The seatbelt’s jerking motion was so odd and intense causing serious injuries including a ruptured breast implant, nerve damage, and cervical spine trauma. The airbags failed to deploy despite a front and side impact. Immediately afterward, both seatbelt and airbag warning lights illuminated. The car has been in repair storage (Kia Willowbrook Ford) since June 16, 2025, without explanation or safety findings from Honda. Honda said the seatbelt sensor is backorder but no one can give me an ETA and I need a vehiclethat is safe. The part has been on backorder for close to 5 months!! This is a critical safety failure, and I am requesting federal investigation into possible seatbelt or airbag defects associated with this VIN.,

While driving, a warning message appeared on the dashboard stating: “Supplemental Restraint System Problem. See Your Dealer.” The airbag warning light also illuminated. This indicates a malfunction within the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS), which controls airbag deployment and seatbelt pretensioners. At this time, it is UNKNOWN what specific component of the SRS failed or malfunctioned. and this issue first appeared 2 moths after purchase but its been coming on and half i don't know how serious this is. This malfunction places my safety and the safety of passengers at risk because the airbags or other restraint features may not function properly in the event of a collision. The problem has not yet been confirmed or repaired by a dealer, and no inspection by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives has been completed as of this report. The warning lamps and message appeared suddenly while driving, with no prior symptoms, noises, or performance issues. Vehicle remains available for inspection if requested.
