The worst model year for it is 2022.
When driving the vehicle will lose acceleration and not allow me to accelerate. It feels like it wants to shut off. The check engine light will come on when this happens. I turn the car off and turn it back on and it goes back to baseline and lets me drive as normal. This has happened while accelerating to get on the highway from an on-ramp, at around 45-60 miles an hour and also at city speeds slowing down to a stop light. I notice some rough idling/shaking during idle at times as well. I have not taken it into the dealer yet because it started happening over the weekend when the dealer was closed. Vehicle has not yet been inspected by anyone. I do believe the first time it happened that an error message came on my dashboard but I'm not 100% sure. The check engine light definitely did though both times it's happened.
NHTSA complaint #11751399 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.
I am reporting a systemic safety fraud involving three critical points:1. INHERENT DEFECT & CRASH LINK: This vehicle has a pathological history of 6 transmission fluid changes starting from 308 miles and multiple alignment failures. There is strong suspicion of inherent defects in both the POWERTRAIN and REAR DRIVETRAIN/STEERING systems. These defects likely contributed to the previous owner's 5-side collision in May 2022. The record suggests a "Sudden Loss of Motive Power" and "Control Instability" risk existed from day one.2. RECALL MALPRACTICE (#23V-844): Despite the massive structural damage from the crash (bent hinges and frame misalignment), the dealer (Planet Honda) certified the fire-safety recall as complete in Dec 2024. Installing electrical recall parts on a compromised chassis violates federal safety standards and creates an unaddressed fire hazard.3. FRAUDULENT CPO RE-SALE: The dealer and manufacturer conspired to "launder" this known-accident vehicle back into the market via the CPO program, concealing the lethal combination of mechanical failure and structural instability from the next victim. The vehicle is currently mothballed due to these hazards. This matter is under active investigation by the (AID)Colorado Department of Revenue, Auto Industry Division (Case #[[XXX]). I petition NHTSA to audit the i-HDS diagnostic logs from the Dec 2024 recall to investigate this safety compliance fraud. Incident 1 — April 23, 2026 | ~71,289 miles While merging onto the freeway, multiple warning lights illuminated simultaneously on the dashboard. Vehicle exhibited uncontrolled acceleration and became unsafe to operate. Incident was captured on video. Vehicle was driven to Salinas Honda [XXX] ). Dealer performed two open safety recalls: Campaign 24-049:6YP00 (Fuel Pump Safety Recall, 2023–25 Multi Model Hybrids) and Campaign 24-117:6JP00 (EPS Gearbox Greasing Safety Recall, 2023–25 CR-V). Work Order #XXX. Incident 2 — April 24, 2026 | 71,302 miles Warning lights returned the same day the vehicle was retrieved from the dealer — within hours of release. Vehicle was returned immediately to Salinas Honda. Dealer found misfire codes (P0300, P0302, P0303), performed a hard battery reset and steering angle relearn, and conducted a 30-mile test drive. Vehicle was released as repaired. Invoice #XXX. Incident 3 — April 24, 2026 (current) Following the second dealer visit, vehicle was driven approximately 90 miles from [XXX] to [XXX] without incident. Approximately 30 minutes after parking, vehicle was restarted for a short local trip. Upon restart, the engine emitted a loud abnormal noise and exhibited severe difficulty accelerating. On April 27, 2026, a third party OBD-II scan performed at Autozone confirmed active misfire codes P0300, P0302, and P0303 were still present following a hard battery reset performed by the owner's. Codes were not cleared by the reset. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I am getting increasing frequency of cylinder misfire, so far cylinder 1 and 2, and the car goes to a limb mode and loose power. It happens during acceleration to a highway ramp. Engine lights and other many warning lights come on, the car goes into limb mode, I pull over and when I turn the engine off and turns back on the warning lights clear and the car drives normally until next time, to start all over again. I took it two Honda dealers at three occasions. Since the engine light goes off, and they cannot capture the issue, they are telling me there is nothing they can do. It seems to happen during a normal driving than sport mode. It is frustrating and dangerous situation. I thought I would report it, to save others from similar situation

We have been trying to get our recall serviced for over 18 months. The dealer continues to tell us the parts need to be special ordered and they will call us back. However they never call us back. We have called Honda directly and have not received any help from them either.

As I were driving down the interstate at 50 mph, I'd heard a loud POP, the sunroof exploded into a million tiny pieces of glass. When we got home, I started doing some Internet searching and found that shattering sunroofs was a longstanding problem with Honda vehicles especially, basically all vehicles with sunroofs. From some posts I was reading, I saw that many dealers were refusing to accept these as a warranty claim and some insurance companies were calling these experiences an "act of God" and refusing to pay claims. I saw at least one class action lawsuit against Honda for shattering sunroofs. I went to my dealer (where I had purchased the vehicle) all prepared to have a discussion with them about liability, but I was pleasantly surprised and angry when they said the broken glass would not be replaced under warranty. This was a brand new 2025 Honda CRV purchased with 7 miles at the time of purchased. I had to go through my insurance agency for repairs because this was not covered under Honda Dealership Warranty which I'd had purchased. Total Repairs for Parts and Labor was around 611.74. This is a major safety issue for all drivers.

I parking my car in a parking spot at my work infront of a tree post the car jumped and hit the tree post by it self as crazy it sound I’ve never seen this before I was devastated. Scared I had called the insurance to tow the car to the Honda dealer and it’s been sitting there for a month now to get the manufacturing Honda come look at it and no one had contacted me yet.

As we were driving on the freeway, our Rear window shattered on its own. You can hear like an explosion of glass. We checked our cameras and nothing was thrown to our car. It just completed shattered on its own and we are confused as to why. It is a huge safety concern as we had a minor in the car. We called Honda and they said that they could not do anything, which is upsetting considering that we have to pay out of pocket for something that may be a defect as it shattered on its own.

UNKNOWN. On 4/13/25 morning, I was with my wife driving towards a park and our car decelerated suddenly from 37 miles to 20 miles and then slowed down. Luckily no driver behind us was close otherwise the car would have crashed. We pulled over to the side of the road and shut off the engine. Restarted and the car seemed to run normal. The dealer who sold this car checked on 4/16/25 and they could not find any problem and asked to bring back if it happens again. We are totally speechless and don't know what to do next.

Hi, I've owned this vehicle brand new, 21 miles. I purchased from the dealership. It now has a blown head gasket at 85 k miles. I've spoken to 3 dealerships that have said this is a common problem. I obviously do a lot of driving early morning and late night. This could have been a big safety issue in the dark. I've done all my services on time and even earlier than needed. I hope you can do research on this. Thank You, [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

My sunroof is leaking, I've taken it to the dealer 3 times and this past weekend I noticed that my back door (the hatch door) leaks when it rains and when you take it through a car wash. the water comes in through the molding right above the back window and leaks down all through the car and out of the back door. I have videos and pictures that I can provide. When I take my car through the car wash the sunroof moved down and water squirts inside the car.

This car has a recall on it since Jan. 2024 for a battery harness cable. I have tried numerous times to get the recall done and each time, the dealer has not had the part. The dealer is also saying that I need to bring the car in first to inspect it before they will order the part from Honda of North America. I called Honda of North America and they say that is not true. That they just need to replace the part and I do not need to bring the car in for inspection. I am not sure what to do at this point. Honda just sent me another notice saying I need to do the recall. But my local dealer says they don't have the part and won't order it for me. Is anyone paying attention to this problem? Other people are saying that Honda is making them pay for service in order to do the recall.

Several times when I was traveling at highway speeds on interstates, the car would suddenly decelerate and the engine light would start flashing. Sometimes the car shakes as well. When this occurs, I am unable to accelerate and the car's speed slows dramatically. I have to pull off onto the shoulder, shut the car off, and then turn it back on to clear the problem. I brought it to the dealership several times and they said there was no error code so they couldn't determine what occurred. Finally, they test drove the vehicle and experienced this problem and fixed it. I'm unsure of what they did to fix it. However, a couple of months passed and it just happened again. I was traveling approx. 70 miles per hour in rainy conditions in the left lane of an interstate with a lot of traffic/tractor trailers. I had to maneuver to the shoulder and put my hazard lights on. It is EXTREMELY dangerous and given the sudden slow speed on a highway with a 70 mph speed limit, this could easily cause a serious accident. I am going back to the dealership on Monday but it is concerning that they thought they fixed the problem and apparently, the defect is still present.

While driving the vehicle there’s a wobbling sound on the front. Morgan Hill Dealer said I have to replace 4 tires. The vehicle has less than 20k miles driven. Also it feels like the steering wheels gets sticky at times. The noise is getting worst. Please help?

Description of incident: Saturday, [XXX] I was in traffic on I [XXX] near the [XXX] exit in Indiana. It was a stop/go, stop/go event as 6 lanes were going down to 1 lane. I was behind a Kroger semi-truck. I had my foot on the brake. I thought the people next to me had started to move, but then I noticed that I was getting closer to the truck (while my foot was on the brake). I pushed the brakes down further. I felt normal resistance. Nothing happened. I hit the cancel button of the adaptive cruise multiple times on my steering wheel thinking that perhaps my adaptive cruise started my movement. I kept rolling. Kept hitting the brakes wondering why I didn't stop. No beeps went off like they normally do. I rolled into the truck. My adaptive cruise had been set to 70, and I had used it before the incident. It was still on standby, but not green. My odometer was around 9547. This happened around 9:50am. No beeping sounds started or emergency braking happened. I would approximate my speed of hitting around 3-5 mph. I hit the truck. I had tried to switch to neutral and then to park. I could not move the gear shaft. I was hitting the brake hold. Anything to make me stop. Nothing worked, and I hit the truck. I did not move after hitting the truck, maybe one of the things I attempted to do worked. My foot was still on the brake. I pulled over, turned off the car, and restarted it. I have not applied the adaptive cruise since then. I don't know if it had anything to do with the incident, but I'm afraid to use it. If I had been moving at a faster rate, my safety and others would have been at risk. I took the car to the dealership. They provided me with a Honda multi-point vehicle inspection checklist and stated that they couldn't find anything wrong. There is definitely something wrong. If I manually apply the brakes, the car should stop. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Hi, I have received 2 safety recall notices against my Honda 2023 CR-V on 3rd October & 14th October. One was for the Steering gearbox worm wheel & Other was for the improper production of the high pressure fuel pump. Since then I have visited & contacted Honda Carland Roswell numerous times but everytime I get the answer the parts are not available. It's been 2 months & they can't guarantee the availability also. When pressed further their only response is contact Honda. Is there any regulations where once the safety recall is issued it should be completed immediately. Being a regulator NHTSA should look into my complaint. Regards [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Hi. I have gone to my car dealership on 9/12/2024 and called Honda Corporation in October 2024 for an update when my car’s recall can be serviced and at both times they tell me that not enough parts are available to service my car’s recall. This is horrible customer service that a possible life and death recall can affect my situation because Honda is not taking responsibility in producing enough parts fast enough to resolve this recall. Recall number: 24V-064 for 2020 Honda CRV hybrids.
