During a tire swap, another lug nut broke off while trying to remove it. This issue has occurred before, and it seems that the faulty lug nut problem is still present. The car has only been serviced at Hyundai dealerships, and the tires were last rotated during a service at an authorized Hyundai dealership before this incident. The affected lug nut this time was on the front passenger side.

This car has lost air in the tires even after installing new tires . The rims are rusting through on the backside . The check tire light has come on about every 1 1/2 months . I finally found out why the other day . A tire finally went flat setting with out use . This time when I stuck it in the dunk tank I was able to see tiny bubbles on the back side of the rim. I also noted significate rust. This is a dangerous situation with all the wheels. When wire brushing the wheel to apply Epoxy the hole opened up and immediately deflated. After cleaning the wheel I applied Epoxy but it is only a temporary fix as it needs all the wheels replaced. I am [XXX] and have owned a lot of cars and this is the first I have seen wheels rust through. I have a 48 Willys jeep with original wheels and it has been outside all its life and the wheels are still good. The car was rented by a Turo host with defectuous brakes and worn-out tires. During 3 weeks and 3400 Mi, forward disk brakes produced a thud of metallic grinding without effective braking at each brake. Forward tires were measured 2/32" and 'Replace Tire' marking were noticed on the treads. Rear tires were measured 3/32" and 'Replacement Tire Monitor' marking were noticed on the treads. A rear tire exploded on a straight line, between 55 and 60 Mph, the burst fortunately did not cause any swerve and the vehicle was able to be stopped on a few meters. During the journey, the driver's seat belt sometimes unlocks unexpectelly, even if initial locking has been checked by pulling on the buckle.

Fifth lug nut failure within a span of less than 6 months. Today during winter to summer tire snow change, front passenger side lug nut broke while it was being removed. This is the 4th incident in my vehicle with regards to the lug nuts. Less than two weeks ago, during routine maintenance at a Hyundai dealership, another lugnut broke and I have also registered a complaint here.

This complainant is the Owner of a Hyundai Accent 2013 GLS. The car use to drive fine until about a month ago, while I was stepping on the brake to come to a stop, the steering wheels sharply moved into the other lane. This situation got even dangerous this last week when the vehicle started drifting on the high way. I reported to a MIDAS mechanic who agreed this is a safety hazard. This needs to be checked by Hyundai.

The studs and the lug nuts have consistently cross-threading and corrosion issues in a barely-year-old vehicle. I have had to visit the dealer twice to have this problem fixed and paid out of pocket. This started to happen ever since my last service at a Hyundai dealership. I suspect that this is because of low quality or defective lugnuts/studs that are being used, which is causing the lugnuts to be stuck and break off while trying to remove them. 2 of the lugnuts and studs in the vehicle had to be broken off to be removed last week (11/28/22). Yesterday (12/04/2022) during a tire change, another lugnut/stud broke off during removal. Hyundai should look into this faulty lugnuts/stud problem and have it resolved.

When you start the car and touch the steering wheel, it vibrates hard, and the 2 front tires. while driving you can barely keep the car on the road it seems the steering wheel has little or no control. It gets better after you drive a bit, but still vibrates and while parked the steering wheel moves on its on. Lastly after turning the car off the steering wheel and tires still vibrates for about 2-5 seconds afterwards.

The car seems to have sort of an alignment problem. Steering keeps going to the left and I constantly have to pull steering to the right. Even with both have on steering wheel the car goes to the left lane. If I make a left turn the steering seems to want to stay to the left and I get the feeling the car is going to flip over. It's like there is a gap in the steering wheel. A miscommunication between the steering and front axle kind of. They tried to fix it three times without any success, and now they are ignoring me, they don't answer my calls. I only drive it to work because I have to. The dealer says it's not that bad. Well maybe it's not that bad to drive it around the block but to drive it one hour everyday is a problem for me, even my right hand and arm start to hurt after half hour of constant dragging. Dealer told me all there accents drive the same. Well for me it means they all have same problem probably. Mechanics told me they get lot of cars with same problem. I am sure they are aware of it. I even took a video while driving to demonstrate defect and definitely it's not safe to drive. They tried to align the car three times at two different dealers with no success. Dealers repair files attached.

OUR 2013 HYUNDAI ACCENT CAUGHT ON FIRE WAS BURNT SO BADLY THAT THE PASSENGER FRONT TTIRE MELTED. THE FIRE STARTED IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN PARKED FOR APPROXIMATELY 7 HOURS IN THE PARKING LOT AT WORK WHEN IT WAS REPORTED TO BE ON FIRE.
NHTSA complaint #11071669 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.
IN NOVEMBER 2016 THE EXHAUST PIPE FROM THE FRONT AXLE TO THE MUFFLER FELL OFF DUE TO BRACKETS RUSTING. A COUPLE WEEKS LATER A RECALL NOTICE WAS RECEIVED FROM HYUNDAI ABOUT RUSTING TO THE CHASSIS AND SUSPENSION. REPAIR WORK WAS DONE AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT. HYUNDAI SPRAYED THE UNDERSIDE FOR RUST-PROOFING, THEN DENIED A REIMBURSEMENT CLAIM ON THE EXHAUST SYSTEM. IN APRIL 2017 THE ROCKER ARMS AND ROTORS HAD RUSTED, AND REQUIRED FULL BRAKING SYSTEM AND ROCKER ARM REPLACEMENT. IN JUNE 2017 THE ENTIRE SUSPENSION SYSTEM REQUIRED REPLACEMENT, DUE TO RUSTING OF THE SHOCKS AND STRUTS. AN ATTEMPT TO FILE A SECOND CLAIM FOR REIMBURSEMENT CANNOT BE PROCESSED THROUGH HYUNDAI'S WEBSITE, CITING THE VIN NUMBER AND LAST NAME MATCHING THE ORIGINAL REQUEST THAT WAS DENIED WITHOUT EXPLANATION.
