There is something wrong with this jeep. I keep getting collision messages four-wheel-drive pops on and off on its own and randomly states that it needs to be serviced. The Jeep is hard to accelerate randomly on highway speeds going over 45. The Jeep also drives like a boat despite your front end or back in issues, new tires, etc.. The oil light comes on even when all light is changed it goes in limp mode, which is dangerous the vehicle keeps requiring software updates. It’s not a very good model to be driving and it’s unsafe on a highway and it’s very expensive just to even be looked at for diagnostic yet alone repairing it and so far from experience, it’s all electrical issues malfunctioning preventing the vehicle from working properly. I’ve only had it two years, barely and I wish to get rid of it. I keep going to shops and it’s unfair

I am reporting a safety concern involving a 2017 Jeep Renegade, VIN ZACCJAAB5HPE81627. The vehicle was purchased used on May 22, 2026 at approximately 89,055 miles and began experiencing problems almost immediately. On May 27, only five days and approximately 96 miles after purchase, a diagnostic showed Check Engine FAIL with codes P0128 and P0456. On May 28, the selling dealership advised that the vehicle needed a thermostat and had an EVAP code requiring further diagnosis. On June 5, another diagnostic again showed Check Engine FAIL and identified an EVAP-related issue. The vehicle also had safety recall UB2/NHTSA Campaign 18V731000 involving the fuel-pump assembly. The recall addresses a condition in which loss of fuel pressure may cause the engine to stall and increase crash risk. The fuel-pump-module recall repair was performed at a Jeep dealership in June 2026. Problems continued after that service. On July 25, another diagnostic showed Check Engine FAIL with codes P0172, P0455 and P0456. On July 31, the vehicle SHUT DOWN WHILE BEING DRIVEN and was stuttering on the way to the repair facility. The service record specifically documents the complaint that the vehicle “shut down while driving” and was “stuttering on way here.” The vehicle has also experienced recurring starting difficulty, particularly after refueling, and repeated check-engine warnings. I am concerned about the risk of an unexpected loss of power or engine stall while driving in traffic. I am not asserting that the prior fuel-pump recall caused the later shutdown; however, I am reporting the recall history, repeated diagnostic faults, starting problems, and documented shutdown so NHTSA can evaluate whether this may represent a continuing or additional safety defect.

While having my car serviced my mechanic informed me that I have an oil leak (and told me time to get rid of it). He did some searching and found that there is a safety-related issue and to take it to a dealer for repair. I have only had this jeep barely over two years. I have been smelling the car hot while driving it or after turning it off. Even my daughter has commented on it. There has only been one dash light come on but I don't remember what it was. My mechanic is keeping an eye on it. The car also stalls out seeming to want to quit while driving it and it will surge (kinda jump ahead) while driving it So I need to know how to go about getting it fixed before it catches fire.

I was driving down the road and the car turns off. Everything turns off, no lights, no nothing and it won't crank again. And then I had to call a wrecker truck and the oil was on top of the motor and back of the tailpipe. I couldn't even get it out of the road. I am so thankful my granddaughter was not in there And I'm glad I wasn't on the interstate cuz if I was that would have been bad

This vehicle’s windows dull out and side mirrors get brown and orange spots on them. Seat Belts won’t hold your seat belt and can sometimes pop out while going down the road. It sets off the seat belt alarm and you have to keep trying to get it back in. There’s a Recall for some 2017 models, but this one doesn’t fall under the recall but has the same issues for the Engine cooling fan. Electric cooling fan won’t spin and causes the car to use up coolant and overheat. This also messes with your air conditioner and causes the inside of your car to get hot as it can only blow warm air. (Injury)The plastic for the hood prop rod easily falls off and is a safety issue when you are working under the hood as the hood can fall onto your head when this plastic piece falls off. The gear shit stops working and won’t go into reverse. The parking brake pull button is located next to the cup holders and at high risk for electric damage if the cups in the cup holder leak or have condensation and leak into that parking brake pull switch. If the battery dies, and you quickly need to move the car off of a busy highway or train track, you have to take off the entire piece of the gear shift and find something small enough to fit into the hole to pop the car into neutral or reverse. This is a huge safety risk and takes too much time in high risk areas!!

Description of the Safety Defect and Incident:Component Malfunction: The radiator cooling fan motor and the low-speed resistor circuit suffered a complete internal electrical failure. The defective part is being removed and is available for inspection upon request.Safety Risk: While idling stationary in live traffic, the vehicle unexpectedly and severely overheated. This created an immediate, dangerous traffic-stall hazard that put my personal safety and the safety of surrounding drivers at risk of a collision.Professional Confirmation: The problem has been fully reproduced, diagnosed, and confirmed by a certified independent service center. Their diagnostic scan tool commands failed, and electronic connector testing proved an open resistor and a faulty, high-resistance motor.Inspections: The vehicle and component have been inspected and verified by the independent service center. No police or insurance representatives were involved as I successfully safely towed the vehicle before a collision occurred.Warning Lamps & Symptoms: There were no symptoms prior to the failure. The problem appeared suddenly while idling. The dashboard cluster flashed an "Engine Coolant Hot" message only after the temperature had already spiked into the red zone because the low-speed fan completely failed to engage. I immediately turned the engine off to prevent a catastrophic engine failure or a traffic collision.This component failure occurred prematurely at only 66,000 miles on a meticulously maintained 2018 Jeep Renegade Trailhawk. I am writing to report a severe safety defect regarding my 2018 Jeep Renegade. The vehicle suffers from an extreme internal oil consumption defect, burning 1 quart of oil every 1,000 miles. According to certified automotive diagnostics, this is five times the normal operating rate. This rapid oil depletion causes the vehicle to abruptly lose power, stall, and completely shut down while driving in active traffic without warning. Sudden engine failure at highway speeds creates an immediate, critical risk of collisions. The vehicle’s history directly matches documented manufacturer issues. The original purchasing dealership notified me that the vehicle was impacted by Customer Satisfaction Notification W80 for abnormal oil consumption. My research also confirmed related under-hood wiring recalls for this model year that cause fuel pressure drops and engine stalling. However, when I presented the vehicle to an authorized Jeep dealership in Newnan, Georgia, due to repeated stalling, the service department refused recall coverage because my specific VIN was not flagged in their database. They replaced a valve cover gasket instead, but the severe oil depletion and dangerous stalling persisted. A subsequent inspection by an independent licensed automotive shop confirmed the excessive oil burning and determined the engine has suffered fatal internal wear, requiring a complete engine replacement. Because the manufacturer excludes my VIN from the official recall population, they refuse to provide any administrative or financial remedies. I bought this 2022 Jeep Renegade in 2023. Upon changing the oil today (3/13/2026) my mechanic found a rear main seal leak. He stated to check for recalls/safety as this should not be happening; the car only has 54,000 miles on it. I have called a couple friends that have one and they too have leaks. Is this covered for repair under a recall? Also the engine stalls when I try to take off, jerking and stalling. I know this isn't normal for this car to act like this. It will also stall or jerk sometimes while driving it. I will have this car two years this April 2026. I love the car but not with safety issues. Please fix this for all owners.

During the incident, the vehicle was destroyed, and the detached garage was also damaged by the flames. The cause of the failure was not determined. Honestly there are so so many problems that have occurred and all under 40,000-50,000 miles! Two recalled radiators and i know its having oberheating isuuses ahain . My car literaly got so hot it slpikt4my batery and the battery aciid smoke filled the eniter cabin are of the vehicle my kids and i in car . The back windshield exploded into spider webs type breaks randomly absolutely i have eye witnesses other than my own word as welll. There is ,more but its enough i think for now.
