Original Problem: 2017 Nissan Tital Truck - Miles: 82706 Issue 1) Purchased the vehicle and owner of the Nissan dealership stated it had a "bumper-to-bumper" 100,000 miles warranty on this model truck. He never mentioned the warranty expired after 5 years in December 2022. Issue 2) Power Steering pump started making a "growling" noise Went to the local Nissan dealership and they determined a seal in the pump needed to be replaced. Found out that the seal has been back ordered from Nissan Japan due to the "high demand and part failure". Local dealership wanted to replace the entire rack & pinion system at a cost of several thousands of dollars. Contacted the Nissan Corporation to help with the warranty issue and replace only the defective seal. Local dealership will not call me now that I took the issues to Nissan Corporation. Nissan is stating that there are 67 seals on back order due to the high volume of requests and I'm now with a truck I haven't been able to drive for 3 weeks. Please look into this seal failure for a recall because I cannot afford to replace the entire rack & pinion system with 9 hours of labor cost at $200 per hour plus the cost of the entire rack & pinion assembly when I only need the seal replaced!! please help

The vehicle is available for inspection immediately by all parties. While driving down the highway, the truck started a vibration, without any warning indicators. The vehicle was taken to the next travel center truck shop. The writer acknowledged the vibration like a misfire, but no codes were present. He recommended another shop or dealer. A detour was made to the nearest Nissan dealership. On the way, the truck stumbled with a violent vibration and shut down on the road without warning lights. There was a complete loss of power from the engine on the highway, giving way to the risk of being hit by other motorists and blocking traffic. Since the engine shut down, there was also a loss of power steering, giving high risk to the possibility of an accident. The truck was unable to restart. The vehicle shut down in the middle of the desert, exposing my family to unsafe environmental conditions. The truck was towed the remaining way to the dealer. The next business day, the technician got the truck started and verified the concern. The tech requested additional time for teardown which was approved to remove the oil pan for inspection. I was quoted over $37,000 to repair “catastrophic engine failure.” There were metal shavings found in the oil pan “the size of a computer mouse” from somewhere on the crankshaft. The dealer found that the check engine light came on during service but did not provide the codes. Nissan refuses to assist with repair due to warranty time and secondhand ownership. Nissan was offered to inspect the vehicle but has declined.

STEERING

There was no bolt that holds the undercover after the steering system was replaced. I contacted Victoria Debnam and she told me the service would take care of it. I returned with my Titan and that took a few minutes. I went home and checked the bolt. The new bolt looked different from the OEM bolt. I contacted her and complained but she didn't respond back. Then I contacted the Nissan Affair and they told me to show up. So I showed up and went to see Robert Paolucci about the bolt issue. They put up an OEM bolt as other factory bolt. After a few days later, I went under and inspected the new bolt. The bolt is no longer tightened. I contacted Robert and Jonathan Flores via email and call but they haven't responded back. The previous bolt had already damaged the threaded hole of the frame. I did contact the Nissan Affair about the issue and they haven't responded back. Robert Paolucci texted me and selling tires and I replied back that he needed to contact me about the bolt issue. Since the non-OEM bolt damaged the hole in the frame, which can rust and corrode the frame. The frame repair could be very expensive. I don't know how they address the hole which they need to change the whole frame. The service needs to find a solution to that damage.

I am trying to get an appointment at the Nissan Service in Clarksville, MD about the safety concern. They haven't returned to me after I left numerous messages via text and their office answer machines. My truck acts very oddly at around 40 mph which is very hazard and I did send the video link but they rather not view it until I get an appointment. I did reach the Nissan Consumer Affairs that I have waited long enough but they told me to continue to contact the service and they are aware of it due to the log. I did send the video to both of them but they couldn't view it at their work computer. The truck drifted on the ramp around 40 mph as I captured it. See the video below, at :20, I kept on the gas for around mph, the RPM and MPH dropped and the slippery warning light and the brake system was triggered. I felt like my truck was pulled back when that happened. That is a bit dangerous to drive. I dont see any damages under my truck. Can you escalate the issue to the Nissan and the local service that they should take a look at and take care of it? The truck has plenty of problems and it is only two years old. My old Nissan car almost had no issues and ran hundreds of thousands miles. [XXX] -- INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Traveling home from working nightshift. I fueled up my truck with diesel and started my commute home which is 85 miles to my residence from work. 60 miles into my commute without warning and no alerts my truck suddenly lost power to everything… engine, steering, acceleration, and electrical. Final able to pull off the road with difficulty steering. Came to a stop and everything shuts off. All the warning lights lit up but no exact detail to what caused it. Had it towed to service shop after failure to start and the sound it made trying to start wasn’t normal. Technicians ran my codes and found nothing that could diagnose the problem.

Twice after a rain I've found substantial amount of water leaking from the driver side, left side dashboard near the ebrake peddle and under steering wheel. The inside padding around the frame is soaked. It appears it could be broken windshield seal or leaking sunroof. I also have video.

I BOUGHT THIS TRUCK NEW. I HAVE A CLUNKING AND LOOSENESS IN THE STEERING. IT STARTED AROUND 14,000 MILES. I HAVE HAD IT TO THE NISSAN DEALER 3 TIMES FOR THIS. THE LAST TIME THE MECHANIC ROAD WITH ME AT 20430 MILES AND HE ACKNOWLEDGED THE PROBLEM. TWO DAYS LATER WHEN I PICKED UP THE TRUCK, THE SERVICE WRITER TOLD ME IT WAS A NORMAL CHARACTERISTIC FOR THE TRUCK TO CLUNK AND BE LOOSE. I THEN MADE A CUSTOMER COMPLAINT TO NISSAN CORPORATE. THEY TOLD ME IT WAS NORMAL TO BE LOOSE, AND CLUNK. WHILE DRIVING IN LESS THAN PERFECT CONDITIONS 6/28/2019 INTERSTATE 40 GOING THROUGH THE MOUNTAINS IT ALMOST CAUSED ME TO WRECK. I WAS PULLING A 20 FOOT GOOSENECK TRAILER TOTALING ABOUT 6,000 POUNDS. I HAD THE CRUISE SET AT 45 MPH. I HAVE NOT HAD A TICKET IN 25 YEARS. THIS EXTRA WEIGHT AND THE CURVY ROUGH ROADS CAUSED THE LOOSE DRIVING TO BE A REAL PROBLEM. IT IS DANGEROUS. THERE ARE MANY POST ALSO ON THE TITAN XD FORUM ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE.
