I am 99% sure my vehicle is compromised via a cybersecurity incident. My emergency brake will sometimes slam for no reason, no multi media system updates have occurred for over two years, and the vehicle will randomly beep on its own, unlocking the doors. Another major issue is a recent electric harness failure that the mechanics have no idea how it happened. It cost me over 8,000. Warning lights also turn on for no apparent reason such as parking, sensors, and other traction control. I am extremely concerned with my safety. I also believe the odometer has been altered to register higher mileage.

2026 Toyota Tundra Kittery, ME

I bought the vehicle new in November 2025. 2026 Toyota Tubdra TRD SR5. In the first week I noticed a lot of jerking and shaking. I brought it to the dealer and was told it was a break in period and it should go away. I’ve had the truck in the shop 5-6 times since and the jerking and shaking hasn’t gone away. I’m at 6300 miles now. The dealer won’t even respond to me anymore. The only way to make the jerking go away is to step on the gas pedal harder but this has become extremely dangerous because it’s forcing me to go faster than I would like, especially in school zones. The dealers say that it’s the truck running very low RPM’s to maximize fuel efficiency and also because there are 10 gears but is that’s the case than why isn’t everyone experiencing it. It’s worse on cold mornings (40 or below) but it’s almost like the truck needs an hour or two to warm up. Even then it’s still jerking. My guess is that the truck doesn’t know what gear it’s supposed to be in but 4th or 5th gear are the worst where the truck hesitates and jerks. I’ve been told to run it in Sport mode but that doesn’t help. I’m finding more and more complaints about this online with the Toyota Tundra SR5’s and I’m part of numerous groups. Someone needs to step in because no one should have to go through this and it’s very unsafe to have to push the gas pedal down harder to make the jerking go away.Thank you for your time.

Water is leaking into the cab of my 2022 Toyota Tundra Platinum 4x4 through the high-mounted third brake light. The leak allows water to enter the headliner and interior, creating the potential for mold, damage to the interior, and electrical issues. After troubleshooting, the third brake light gasket appears to be the source of the leak. Toyota does not appear to offer the gasket as a replacement part, requiring owners to replace the entire third brake light assembly despite the failure being limited to the seal. Numerous owners have reported similar water intrusion issues on 2022+ Tundras, suggesting this may be a common defect rather than an isolated incident. I believe Toyota should investigate the failed gasket design and consider a recall or service campaign to replace the defective seal or assembly.

2023 Toyota Tundra Lompoc, CA

Multiple vehicle systems have malfunctioned, including the transmission, infotainment/display screen, and backup camera. Most recently, the backup camera has stopped functioning, preventing a rear view while reversing. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request, along with any service records documenting prior repair attempts.The transmission issues created an unsafe driving condition due to unpredictable shifting and hesitation. In addition, the backup camera is no longer functioning, significantly reducing rear visibility while reversing and increasing the risk of striking a pedestrian, child, vehicle, or object. These defects pose a safety risk to both the driver and others around the vehicle.The vehicle has been presented to an authorized Toyota dealership on multiple occasions for repair of various issues. Most recently, I sought service for the inoperative backup camera but was refused service. Previous concerns have been documented through dealership service visits.The vehicle has been inspected by an authorized Toyota dealership during previous repair attempts. It has not been inspected by police or insurance representatives.The vehicle experienced ongoing drivability and infotainment issues before the backup camera failed. The backup camera eventually stopped functioning entirely.

Driving on the interstate and the truck surged very hard. The truck began to surge very hard and went into decreased speed mode. We were told by the dealer there is a TSB for the PCM. This decreased power caused the truck to not be able to travel over 25 MPH in a 70 MPH zone. This caused an unsafe situation.

Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2012 Toyota Tundra. At the time of the purchase, the mileage was 149,000. The vehicle was a dealer sale. An independent mechanic checked the vehicle history report and discovered a mileage discrepancy. The Carfax report indicated that the mileage was 379,000 in May 2025. The contact reported the odometer fraud to Wisconsin's Department of Transportation - Field Investigation Unit, which informed him that the odometer fraud was outside of their jurisdiction because the vehicle was purchased in Kentucky. The contact stated that the current approximate mileage was 395,000.

I am reporting a severe thermal and electrical safety hazard regarding the OEM wireless charging pad in a 2025 Toyota Tundra. During standard vehicle operation, the integrated charging pad overheats to extreme temperatures. On a recent drive, the heat generated by the vehicle's charging pad was so intense that it physically melted, blistered, and deformed a MagSafe-compatible protective case on a Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra. This safety issue has been brought to an authorized dealership, Toyota of Hollywood (Repair Order #[XXX]), for a second consecutive time. The dealership officially documented the property damage in writing on the invoice, stating: 'Phone got melted from how hot it gets.' However, they refused to perform repairs or disable the system, explicitly noting: 'Vehicle was compared to another and both doing the same.' By admitting that multiple new vehicles exhibit this exact overheating behavior, the manufacturer is confirming a systemic and unaddressed design or manufacturing defect. An in-dash electrical component capable of melting plastic poses an immediate cabin fire hazard, risks triggering thermal runaway in the mobile device's lithium-ion battery, and directly threatens occupant safety. 2024 Toyota Tundra Stacy, MN

I have only owned the truck since mid April of 2026. The truck has 12000 miles on it. I have only put 200 miles on the truck... 150 miles are driving to the dealership. Engine recall notification was sent out last week of May 2026. Still an open recall for reverse lights with no remedy. Took Tundra into dealer at the beginning of May 2026 to get two other "electronic/infotainment" system recalls repaired. I bought the truck used from a dealership. Had three open recalls (electronic x's 2 and reverse light). Got two of three fixed. A few weeks later I get the engine recall. Really Toyota... I took the truck to Maplewood Toyota on 5/28/26. There it sits waiting for repairs. I asked about getting out of the truck and my option was trade it in at KBB value ($45k-ish) I paid $57k and $3k for extended warranty for a total of $60k. I am not going to eat $15k on trading in the truck. Toyota should STOP selling vehicles with these engines NOW! These engines should not be on the road or being sold - PERIOD. Toyota still using the "debris" in engine from manufacturing in 2024 is criminal. We are talking about the debris issue in 2022, 2023, 2024 engines.... This is outright criminal. Shame on you Toyota. I am a Toyota buyer. I own a 2019 Corolla. My friends and family are also Toyota owners. This V35A engine is a complete failure and production should be stopped. I kick myself for not doing more research before buying the truck. I never would have purchased knowing the ongoing engine issues. Dumb me - I am buying a Toyota because I trust there is no reason to worry - boy was I wrong. Please hold Toyota accountable for this. Toyota should buy back every vehicle that has this engine if the owners want that option. Anyone with a 2022 - 2026 V35A engine - drive at your own and everyone else on the road - risk.

Vehicle has two open Toyota safety recalls that have remained unresolved for over a year. NHTSA campaign 25V322 (manufacturer no. 25TB06) covers reverse lamp assembly corrosion. NHTSA campaign 25V767 (manufacturer no. 25TB14) covers a V35A engine manufacturing defect where leftover machining debris can damage the main bearing, leading to engine knocking, rough running, no-start, or loss of drive power while driving. No engine symptoms have occurred to date. However, the vehicle is used for rideshare and delivery work, meaning passengers and cargo are regularly on board while this known defect remains unremedied. The dealership stated it could not address the engine recall and directed me to Toyota corporate. Toyota corporate opened a case and confirmed no remedy is currently available for this recall. The vehicle has not been inspected by the dealer or manufacturer, as no repair or inspection procedure has yet been provided to perform one. No warning lamps or dashboard messages have been observed. Vehicle is available for inspection upon request. Concern: a known crash-risk engine defect (loss of drive power) has been acknowledged by the manufacturer for over a year with still no completed remedy, while the vehicle continues to be operated commercially with passengers.

In the 2024 tundra if there is a camera misalignment for the 360 degree cameras or reverse cameras. It sets off a code that makes the trailer brake say disconnected even when connected. I took the vehicle in and had the cameras recalibrated then the brake worked. On my last trip pulling a 4,000 lb trailer the cameras came out of alignment so my trailer brake stoped working mid trip. This is a safety issue that can cause a accident.

2023 Toyota Tundra Eagle Pass, TX

While driving the vehicle on a public roadway at approximately 70mph, the vehicle suffered a sudden and catastrophic powertrain failure without timely warning. The check engine light illuminated, the physical engine oil pressure gauge dropped to absolute zero, and the dashboard immediately flashed a critical "Hybrid System Malfunction" warning. > This mechanical and electrical failure triggered an instantaneous, total loss of motor power while traveling live lane with traffic behind me. The vehicle immediately stalled and became a completely inoperable, unresponsive rolling hazard. The vehicle failed to restart and left me stranded on a narrow shoulder which was very hazardous as traffic coming at high speeds could have easily rear ended me. The vehicle required a flatbed tow to an authorized Toyota dealership, and after submitting a case with corporate hoping for a trade assist(as my wife no longer feels safe in this chassis), I have been told it will take up to 45 days to process this request. I made a significant investment in this vehicle in January of 2023 and have since methodically kept up with maintenance, with hopes this vehicle would last me 10+ years. I find it highly inexcusable for Toyota to not consider speedily helping a loyal customer in this situation and making it right in a timely manner. I am now being offered a vehicle the same as mine of the current year and with me having to put over 22K in equity to close the gap. I should not be left on the hook for something that put my safety at risk and now has left me without the ability to travel as my family has lost their main method of transportation. Manufacturing defects should not come at the customers expense.

My 2025 Toyota Tundra’s air conditioning is not cooling properly. The A/C does not perform as expected, especially in hot weather. I am concerned this may be a defect in the HVAC/climate control system. I am also concerned about driver safety because poor A/C performance in extreme heat can affect the driver and passengers, and HVAC issues may also affect proper window defogging/defrosting. I am requesting that NHTSA review this issue and track similar complaints for possible investigation. Not blowing cold wind, temperature changes and blows less air as temperature changes from hot to cold or cold to hot. at one point drove around 5 miles away from home before cool air started to blow.

Multiple times in my almost 3 year ownership I have experienced a “dead pedal” while pulling out into traffic from a stop. It has almost caused a t bone accident on a few occasions. It’s been to the dealer and had a software update TSB 0111-22. After the update I didn’t have the issue for a little while, but it has come back and it now happens almost every time I drive it. Online search shows that there are multiple people having this problem. Toyota needs to come up with a fix for this before it causes a bad accident.

The 2023 Toyota Tundra Hybrid’s powertrain design may be insufficient to maintain basic safety maneuvers (specifically "limp mode" or emergency clearing) during an engine failure while operating under high-load conditions in mountainous terrain. This creates a life-threatening hazard for the occupants and other motorists. ​Statement of Fact: As an owner of a 2023 Toyota Tundra Hybrid, I primarily utilize this vehicle to tow a 9,000 lbs travel trailer through the high-altitude, steep-grade regions of Utah. These routes frequently consist of narrow, two-lane mountain passes with no shoulders and steep drop-offs. ​ ​Failure Under Stress: Engineering logic suggests that engine stress is highest during heavy towing on steep grades. If a primary engine failure occurs in these conditions, the hybrid system’s battery and electric motor capacity are, in my experience, inadequate to move a combined Gross Combined Vehicle Weight (GCVW) of approximately 15,000+ lbs to a safe location. ​While the hybrid system may allow a light, unladen vehicle to limp to a shoulder under "ideal conditions," it lacks the torque and sustained power to move a heavy trailer on a grade once the internal combustion engine is compromised. ​In the event of a failure, the vehicle would likely become "dead in the water" in the middle of a live, narrow lane on a blind mountain curve. Without the ability to reach a turnout or even a marginal shoulder due to the weight of the load, the vehicle becomes a stationary target for other high-speed mountain traffic, posing a severe risk of rear-end collisions and multi-car accidents. ​ I am requesting that the NHTSA investigate the performance of the Tundra Hybrid’s "fail-safe" modes specifically under maximum towing capacity on grades.
