The rearview/360-degree camera system on my 2023 Ford Transit 350 continues to fail, resulting in the rearview camera image and/or other camera views becoming unavailable. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. This is a large passenger van with significant blind areas, and the loss of the rearview camera creates a serious safety concern when backing, parking, or maneuvering around pedestrians, children, vehicles, or other objects. When the system fails, I can place the vehicle in reverse and not have the rear camera image that I depend on to see the area immediately behind the vehicle. This is NOT the first occurrence. The vehicle has been taken to an authorized Ford dealer on three separate occasions related to the camera system. Multiple cameras have been replaced. The vehicle has also been subject to Ford safety recall repairs involving the rearview/360-degree camera system. Most importantly, the applicable recall repair was recently completed by an authorized Ford dealer, and the camera system is STILL failing after completion of the recall remedy. The same safety condition that resulted in the recall continues to occur. Ford and its authorized dealer have therefore had multiple opportunities to inspect and repair this vehicle, including replacement of camera components and completion of the safety recall, but the defect has not been permanently corrected. The failure can occur without adequate warning and results in the rearview/360-degree camera image becoming unavailable or otherwise malfunctioning. The problem has occurred repeatedly rather than as an isolated incident. I am filing this complaint because I am concerned that the recall remedy has not successfully corrected the safety defect on this vehicle. I am requesting that NHTSA document and investigate the continued failure of the rearview/360-degree camera system after Ford's recall remedy was performed, including whether the current recall remedy is adequate for affected Ford Tra

I took my vehicle on for am oil change and the mechanic brought to my attention that the front subframe of the vehicle had serious rot and rust. This lower subframe ties the front control arms together and other structural components, which is concerning with how fast this component has degraded. When researching this online, this appears to be a common issue on 2015 and later Transit vans, to the point that an investigation was started towards a class action lawsuit. My vehicle is only 8 years and has 95,000 miles, quite young for this serious of an issue to be found. Ford should be held responsible and a safety recall should be issued as other manufacturers have had similar ones in recent years.

Backup camera is no longer working. It has a white screen but no image, which makes it difficult to back up the van safely since it’s a large van and sits high. I live in a neighborhood with children and it’s challenging to see behind me when backing out of the driveway without the backup camera. Therefore, this is a safety issue. Ford and/or NHTSA have recalled these same backup cameras on other Ford Transit vans, including others manufactured in 2017, but did not include my van.

I locked myself in the cargo area of a Ford Transit Cargo van. This is a safety issue as one should always be able to exit any part of the van. I had the key fob with me at the time. This is to recreate the problem: 1) Slam the door shut between the driver compartment and the cargo area. This locks the door, and it cannot be opened without a physical key. 2) Close the back doors, but not quite all the way. Then lock and unlock them with the key fob. The doors should have an inch or two of play, but won't close all the way, and won't open. 3) Close the sliding side door from the inside WHILE holding the inside handle in the open position. Now the doors won't open when the vehicle is locked or unlocked with they key fob. The sliding door can be opened from the outside. Interestingly, once the side door is opened from the outside, then the back doors can be opened from the outside.

I bought the car in 2017 with 7800 miles within the first few months. The rear camera began to freeze sometimes I once went to the dealer but they said they can’t find it because at that point in time it wasn’t freezing so they couldn’t do anything about it now at least 95% of the time the rear camera does not work either is upside down or it doesn’t work at all I see there has been a recall for my year similar vehicles for this problem of the rearview camera. For some reason my car was not included and I would like to log the complaint and hopefully get my car included. thank you so much.

The failure involves the vehicle’s surround-view (360-degree) camera system, specifically the side camera feed and/or image stitching/display system. When the camera system is activated, one side of the 360-degree view intermittently fails and is replaced by a solid gray box instead of a live image, as shown in the attached photos. This suggests a fault in the side camera, wiring, or software processing. Ford has issued a recall related to the camera system; however, this issue persists in this vehicle despite the action the dealer has taken relating to the recall. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. This malfunction creates a blind spot on one side of the vehicle during parking or low-speed maneuvering. The system is intended to provide full visibility around the vehicle to detect pedestrians, cyclists, vehicles, curbs, and other obstacles. With one side missing, there is an increased risk of striking objects or people, especially in tight or urban environments, and the system may misleadingly appear functional. The issue has been reproduced multiple times during normal use when activating the camera system but occurs intermittently. The vehicle has not been inspected by police or insurance representatives. The issue has been observed and documented by the owner but has not yet been resolved by the manufacturer. There are no warning lights or messages when the failure occurs. The camera system activates normally but displays a gray box where one side image should be. The issue occurs intermittently.

The front subframe and transmission crossmember on my 2015 Ford Transit have experienced severe, premature structural corrosion, resulting in the metal rotting completely through. The subframe is structurally compromised, brittle, and actively cracking.Safety Risk and Imminent Hazard:The subframe is the load-bearing structural skeleton holding the vehicle's engine, steering assembly, transmission, and suspension components in place. Because the metal has rusted through, there is an imminent risk of complete structural collapse while driving. If the subframe snaps or detaches under load, it will cause an immediate loss of steering control and engine displacement, likely resulting in a catastrophic high-speed crash.Passenger and Public Danger:This vehicle is not used for commercial purposes; it is a dedicated family vehicle used daily to transport eleven (11) children. A structural failure at highway speeds puts twelve lives inside the vehicle—and dozens more on the road—at immediate risk of fatal injury.Manufacturer Response:Ford Motor Company (Ford Pro Customer Advocacy, Case Manager: Quatavius) was contacted regarding this premature, widespread engineering defect. Ford formally denied any financial or repair assistance, stating no programs exist, completely disregarding the severe safety risk to the 11 children inside this vehicle. This is a systemic manufacturing defect with 2015-2023 Ford Transit subframes that requires an immediate federal safety investigation and mandatory safety recall before a fatal structural failure occurs As of now the symptoms are the rattling noise of the rotting subframe and steering vibration while driving. We even hit another car and paid for repairs already due to fear of steering loss.

This vehicle is subject to Recall 25V860 / Ford Recall 25SD9 involving the left rear half shaft. On several occasions, the vehicle has rolled after being placed in Park. I was forced to quickly reenter the vehicle and apply the brake to prevent a collision, property damage, or personal injury. Due to these repeated incidents, I no longer believe the vehicle can be operated safely. I have attempted to obtain the recall repair through authorized Ford dealerships but have been unable to obtain a permanent remedy. As a result, the vehicle remains subject to a serious safety defect that creates a risk of unintended vehicle movement. I am concerned that the condition described in Recall 25V860 has affected my vehicle and presents an ongoing safety hazard to myself, my passengers, and the public.

The Side sliding door does not come with a standard child safety lock. My Child got out of their seat (figured out how to unbuckle themselves) and was able to unlock and open the door while the vehicle was in motion. Luckily no one was hurt. We are reaching out regarding Safety Recall Notice 23S48. This recall pertains to this issue: "when the vehicle is placed in reverse, or when the 360-Degree view is selected, you may intermittently see a rear camera blue or black image on the SYNC® screen." After bringing our vehicle to the Ford dealership, they have replaced the camera as the recall specifies. However, the issue described continues to persist. Ford is telling us than any further work towards fixing this issue would be at our expense.

The backup camera on my Transit does not work. When in reverse the screen turns blue or says camera not available. It has shown the image upside down a few times, but it never works for more than a few seconds. I just bought this vehicle in November, and it has been doing this the entire time it has been in my possession.

I am submitting this complaint to report a real‑world safety failure related to Ford Recall 19S38 involving a 2017 Ford Transit 350. The vehicle was purchased in 2021 from a Ford dealership, Joe Rizza Ford, with approximately 60,000 miles. At the time of purchase, Recall 19S38 was open on the vehicle and had not been completed. We were not informed of the open safety recall at the time of sale, and the recall repair was not performed prior to delivery. The vehicle was maintained responsibly using qualified, independent repair facilities. We were never advised by Ford or the selling dealership that the vehicle had an open safety recall. Two days prior to the incident, the vehicle was inspected by a professional repair shop due to a rattling noise. The shop test‑drove the vehicle, performed an inspection, and was unable to identify the source of the noise or any unsafe condition. On 12/20/2025, while the vehicle was being driven normally, the driveshaft/coupler failed suddenly and catastrophically. The failure occurred without warning and resulted in a violent separation of the driveshaft, causing severe damage to the transmission and surrounding components and an immediate loss of safe operation. At the time of the failure, the vehicle was occupied by multiple passengers, including seven minors. No injuries occurred, but the incident created a serious safety hazard. After the failure, we learned that the nature of the failure and the resulting damage are consistent with the risks described in Recall 19S38. Ford has acknowledged the recall and has offered to repair the recalled component, but has denied responsibility for the surrounding damage caused by the recall‑related failure. This complaint is being submitted to document a safety‑related recall failure that occurred during normal operation, created a hazardous condition, and aligns with the defect and consequences described in Recall 19S38.

Hello- I have the back up camera rear view mirror issue of other recalls but my vehicle is not listed as a part of the recall. It is a 2015 Ford Transit 250- Is there any reason it isn't included? My back up camera in the rear view mirror goes to blue or also shows and upside down picture like the other vehicles in the recall.
