This is the second time this occurred. Please refer to 11757120. While travelling approximately 65 mph the vehicle had a complete shutdown including the engine and all electrical systems in the chassis. When a vehicle has a complete shutdown while driving it is inherently dangerous and life threatening. The problem has been confirmed by Westlies Truck Center in Minot ND again. To my knowledge the vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer or anyone other than the staff at the truck center. There were no warnings of any kind prior to this occurrence. We were on a busy 4 lane highway.

The rearview/360-degree camera system on my 2023 Ford Transit 350 continues to fail, resulting in the rearview camera image and/or other camera views becoming unavailable. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. This is a large passenger van with significant blind areas, and the loss of the rearview camera creates a serious safety concern when backing, parking, or maneuvering around pedestrians, children, vehicles, or other objects. When the system fails, I can place the vehicle in reverse and not have the rear camera image that I depend on to see the area immediately behind the vehicle. This is NOT the first occurrence. The vehicle has been taken to an authorized Ford dealer on three separate occasions related to the camera system. Multiple cameras have been replaced. The vehicle has also been subject to Ford safety recall repairs involving the rearview/360-degree camera system. Most importantly, the applicable recall repair was recently completed by an authorized Ford dealer, and the camera system is STILL failing after completion of the recall remedy. The same safety condition that resulted in the recall continues to occur. Ford and its authorized dealer have therefore had multiple opportunities to inspect and repair this vehicle, including replacement of camera components and completion of the safety recall, but the defect has not been permanently corrected. The failure can occur without adequate warning and results in the rearview/360-degree camera image becoming unavailable or otherwise malfunctioning. The problem has occurred repeatedly rather than as an isolated incident. I am filing this complaint because I am concerned that the recall remedy has not successfully corrected the safety defect on this vehicle. I am requesting that NHTSA document and investigate the continued failure of the rearview/360-degree camera system after Ford's recall remedy was performed, including whether the current recall remedy is adequate for affected Ford Tra

The contact owns a 2022 Ford Transit. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the instrument cluster went blank and the vehicle shut off, causing a loss of drive power. The vehicle was coasted to the side of the road and restarted. The failure reoccurred four times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 146,390.

We were on our way to a campground. Approximately 40 miles from the campground the RV shut down. All chassis systems failed including the engine and electrical systems. It is available for inspection. Our safety as well as the first mechanic on the scene and tow truck driver because we were only partially off of the roadway. There were no hazard lights working. The problem was confirmed by Westlies Truck Center in Minot ND. The component(s) have not been inspected. There were no warnings or symptoms of any kind. I was told by the service manager that it could happen again.

The contact owns a 2017 Ford Transit. The contact stated that the vehicle caught on fire while parked at the residence. The contact was asleep and was alerted to the fire by the local authorities after a neighbor witnessed the fire and called the emergency services. Upon reviewing the ring camera footage, the contact became aware that the fire had originated at the rear driver’s side of the vehicle. The fire was extinguished by the fire department, and the vehicle sustained damages to the rear driver’s side of the vehicle. The manufacturer and dealer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. A Police report was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 107,000.

Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2020 Ford Transit. The contact stated that while attempting to register the vehicle, it was discovered that there was a mileage discrepancy. The vehicle was a private sale. At the time of purchase, the vehicle mileage was 69,000, which was confirmed by a fraudulent Carfax report the seller provided to the contact. However, upon searching the VIN on a Ford mobile app, it was discovered that the mileage was 168,000.

This is a Ford Palladium Van, year 2024, the secondary alternator charging circuit that Thor has installed has a lot of problems. Specifically, the alternator from Balmar fails and you cannot charge lithium batteries while the van is in motion. The whole point of the secondary alternator is to charge these batteries while in motion. Its a safety issue when traveling with children or pets because battery voltage drops if you have to run AC while in a store or something. You proceed down the road and the battery is not recharged. Next stop you may not be able to run AC at all.

Safety Component Affected: BACK OVER PREVENTION: SENSING SYSTEM: CAMERA Description of the Safety Defect: The rearview camera system on my 2022 Ford Transit fails completely, displaying either a distorted image, a completely blank blue screen, or a black screen when the vehicle is shifted into reverse. This total loss of rear visibility creates a severe blind-spot hazard and an immediate risk of a back-over crash, especially given the large commercial dimensions of this van. History of Failed Manufacturer Remedies: This vehicle has been brought to an authorized Ford dealership seven (7) separate times for this exact rearview camera failure. The manufacturer has repeatedly failed to provide a permanent remedy. The dealership attempted repairs under Ford’s active safety campaigns (including Recall 23S48 / 25S38 regarding the Image Processing Module and rear wiring). Despite these recall repair attempts, software flashes, and component replacements, the system fails again immediately after every visit. The camera is currently non-functional. The manufacturer’s authorized dealer network cannot fix this federally mandated safety feature (FMVSS 111), leaving the vehicle inherently unsafe to operate in reverse. I am filing this complaint to document a failed recall remedy and a persistent, unresolvable safety defect.

I’ve been dealing with some intermittent problems with my 2022 transit for a couple years now. Basically I’ll be driving on the highway and all the sudden I’ll lose gas control, and power braking and the dash displays a message that says “shift to neutral to restart vehicle”, battery icon flashes red and I have to coast to the side of the highway. The electronics in the car will still be working when I pull over but the battery is dead. If I shift to park my engine doesn’t turn over or make any clicks at all. The few times it’s happened it eventually will turn back on after 10 min or so after using a jumper pack. I’ve taken it to dealers and they all say the computer isn’t throwing any codes so they can’t help. I’ve nearly been in 2 accidents now on the highway trying to get to a shoulder/lack of shoulder and the fact that I lose my brakes makes this an undrivable vehicle. My vehicle is still under manufacturer warranty but the ford dealers have not been able to help and keep sending me on my way with a very dangerous vehicle. I need help, I’m concerned about being involved in a a dangerous accident that could hurt myself or others when I lose brakes and gas. This has happened 5times now over the last 25k miles. I have a long video of the last incident that I would love to share if a video upload link is made available.

Transmission, 6 speed, drops into 2nd gear locks up rear wheels. I was driving at highway speeds and the rear wheels locked up. My van skidded into another lane and almost caused an accident. My van has been down shifting for years but the rear wheels have never locked up. I shifted into neutral quickly to avoid an accident. I do not understand why this vehicle is not included in the recall. Ford has known of this problem and has done nothing for 10 years. I'm lucky my rear end did not blow up. (damage has been done) Ford should be responsible to repair any components that have been damaged from the downshifting and the rear end locking up. This is causing damage to my entire drivetrain. Please help me out, I have been waiting for this recall for years. I should be included. I need my faulty lead frame replaced. Thanks

On March 11, 2026, a 2024 Ford Transit (VIN: [XXX] ) was being operated under normal driving conditions when the check engine light began intermittently activating. Shortly thereafter, the vehicle experienced a sudden loss of dashboard functionality. While attempting to safely maneuver to the shoulder, the operator experienced loss of power steering and reduced braking capability. During this time, flames were observed originating from the engine compartment. The operator was able to safely pull the vehicle over, exit, and contact emergency services. The vehicle subsequently became fully engulfed in flames and was completely destroyed. No injuries were reported. A preliminary fire investigation determined the area of origin to be the passenger side of the engine compartment, with evidence of possible electrical involvement. The specific failed component has not yet been identified. This incident created a significant safety hazard due to the sudden loss of vehicle control systems combined with an active vehicle fire during operation. Currently, my VIN is not included in the recall even though the year, make, and model is within the range. Since I purchased this vehicle, it has experienced severe safety-related failures in the electrical system, battery, vacuum pump, powertrain, and other components. All warning lights would activate on the dashboard, messages appeared such as “Service Immediately” and “Power Reduced,” the vehicle became limited to about 10 mph, and on several occasions it shut off completely while in use. Six days before taking it to Midway Ford, Metro Ford replaced the battery, but within days the vehicle became inoperable again. Midway Ford kept the vehicle for weeks and eventually claimed the battery was defective, but attempted to charge me over $2,000 for sensors and a fuse box despite my Ford 5-year/8-year warranties and an extended service contract. I opened formal complaints with Ford, Metro Ford, and Midway Ford. Ford acknowledged factory defects, and the vehicle has more than six prior repairs since 2022, consistent with known issues in similar models (vacuum pump failures). During active state and federal investigations—and without my authorization—Midway Ford moved the vehicle off their property. I have evidence from the Ford app showing it was relocated to an apartment complex, then a private house, and finally to an unauthorized tow yard. When I returned to the country, police accompanied me to the location where I found the vehicle hidden, vandalized, with deflated tires, scratches, and surrounded by stripped and crashed cars. Midway Ford initially denied having the vehicle and later changed their statements. Afterward, all alerts were cleared from the Ford app without explanation. Midway Ford acted without permission, moved the vehicle during an open investigation, manipulated its condition, and returned it damaged. I request a full safety investigation due to repeated failures, loss of power, shutdowns while driving, and the dealer’s negligent handling of the vehicle.

My VIN number is not included in the backup camera recall. It says the recall includes the 2017 Transit. My back up camera stopped working about a year ago. Also when the camera stopped working my cruise control stopped working also. I believe this is a larger electrical issue.
