NHTSA complaint #11750585 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.
My 2021 Honda Accord Sport has had a problem that started about 30k miles which I told them about 3 times. The sun visors do not stay up. they hang down and you have to move them out of the way. I tried to get the dealer to replace them, but they said I was past the warranty, and I was going to be changed about 400.00 per visor. I kept messing with them and finally it got a little better. But did not last. I told them again, but I could not, and would not spend over 800.00 for sun visors. Id do without them before paying 800.00! Used to they were simple made and no problems. But now they have mechanisms inside that have parts that wear out. Because Honda would not replace them, and Bell Honda would not either, I will not buy another care from Bell Honda. As when I bout my 2014 Nissan in [XXX], then moved to [XXX] I took my car to Nissan on Bell, and for the first time ever, before the Honda did it, a sun visor stopped functioning right in my Altima, but because I took my car there for services, the dealership replaced it for me. Now today, searching for new visors, I found that many people are having problems with the Honda visors, and saying it is a safety issues, and one person said their dealer replaced theirs 2 times. With all the complaints you'd think Honda would have to change the way they are made. But seems they don't care. In-fact, before my car had 40k miles, one of my motor mounts went out, and something else before that. Thankfully my motor warranty was still good. But these expansive, poorly made sun visors really should be recalled as it is a safety issue. Please do something to make that happen. Thank you! This is reoccurring from 2023-2026. NHTSA complaint #11750153 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.
My display screen (infotainment) that has almost all the setting to my car on it has been glitching every single time I drive my car. It has what is being described as "ghost touch". It will just flick back and forth between all different settings to my car, turn on and off the radio and go between stations, set destinations on my maps, submitting incidents on my maps, calling my contacts, requesting voice commands which lowers the fan speed on my ac and heat when doing so and numerous other settings including how my car locks itself, rear camera setting, audio settings, it is going through everything while driving and while stationary. I believe it is a major hazard, it as startled me so many time by just randomly blasting a radio station while im driving, messing with my navigation on maps while driving, I have been distracted so many times when I should have been focused on the road but instead I am trying to stop it from changing settings, calling people, trying to cancel routes its setting on my maps and ect. The problem is a "known issue" according to the Honda dealership I bought it from and took in to look at for repair. Also I quick Google search of "2022 honda accord sport screen glitching" brings up tons of other people dealing with this same issue and there is apparently no fix for it. Honda said you can buy a new screen but it may still do it since there is no official fix for this. It drives me crazy to even drive this car and I commute to work over a hour and a half on highways with it freaking out the whole way most of the time.
NHTSA complaint #11743835 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.
The windshield wiper nozzle that dispenses the wiper fluid is poorly designed. The passenger side nozzle shoots >50% of the fluid off my car and onto the guy in the lane to my right. The driver side nozzle barely gets any good cleaning effect on the driver side for the same reason - it shoots far to the right. Not only do I have to use way more fluid than necessary just to clean the windshield from debris or bugs, but I also don't get a *good* clean doing so. I don't feel entirely safe with the current implementation, and believe the system is greatly flawed.

The contact stated that while driving on the highway, a loud noise was heard. The vehicle's sunroof had shattered with glass getting on the contact as well as in the vehicle. The dealer was contacted but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 180,000.

Infotainmeny system receives multiple fals touches and switches to other screens and functions with no direct input from me the driver. This is very distracting and also dangerous as the issue also interfears with navigation, it will turn is off and switch destinations without any input. This issue has occured since i have had the car in 2022, it only keeps getting worse. This is a very distracting issue to have, it is unsafe and Honda needs to come up with a solution, i have seen this reported by hundreds of people online, this tells me that there are likely thousands of cars out there doing the same, but the people do not know how to report it.

The air conditioning system on my 2017 Honda Accord Hybrid has failed due to a refrigerant leak. The symptoms began with a complete loss of cooling on the driver’s side while the passenger side remained cool. Eventually, the system failed to provide cool air to the entire cabin. This is a significant safety concern as the failure of the A/C system prevents the climate control from effectively dehumidifying the cabin air. During humid or rainy conditions, this leads to rapid windshield fogging that cannot be cleared by the defroster, severely impairing driver visibility. There are known service bulletins and warranty extensions for A/C components (condensers and compressor seals) on similar Honda models and years, yet my specific VIN is currently excluded despite exhibiting identical failure patterns. I am seeking a formal investigation to ensure this defect is addressed as a safety recall.

I owned a 2018 Honda Accord,i got it new from the dealership so im the only owner of this vehicle. my headlights keep building condensations prematurely causing them to fail . I have already replaced multple headlights because of this . also when the bulbs go out honda made it where the bulbs can not be replaced at all. these headlights cost close to $1000 each plus 500 in labor to installed. theres should be a recall for this as its costing me soo much money . I hoping we must hold accountability to its highest level so consumer dont have suffer like this. Thank you so much for reading!

When sun is in front of car and low in the sky, windshield looks as if it is covered with dirt, to the point that I cannot see through it. I want to get it replaced asap, so it may or may not be available for inspection. When this happens, I cannot see anything in front of me: cars, people, the road. No. Yes, by a Honda dealer.

infotainment system is susceptible to intermittent ghost touches. This occurs when using any functionality of the screen of the infotainment system including navigation, music playing, apple car play, and hands free cell phone calls. The screen will open up new menus on its own, end a navigation route, place cell phone calls on hold, and not respond to touches from the driver. This creates a highly dangerous situaiton while driving as the driver must take their eyes off the road to attempt to remedy constant errors and glitches with the infotainment system. Particularly troublesome are instances occurring when using navigation as the driver will need to re-input a destination that was canceled or having a phone call placed on hold mid-conversation. Navigation systems are sometimes necessary to operate the vehicle. Phone calls are no longer hands free if the driver has to look down at their phone to try and disconnect it from the infotainment system to resume the call. This requires taking your eyes off the road for an extended period of time, potentially while traveling at highway speeds. Vehicle was returned to manufacture via dealership several times to address the issue. The Dealer confirmed a defective infotainment system in October 2024 and replaced it under warranty. Due to the part being on back-order it was not replaced until March 2025. The issue continues with the newly replaced screen. The vehicle has been returned several times to the dealer since replacing the screen. Dealer claims they cannot duplicate the issue and do not know what is causing it. Opened Case #: 15316225 with American Honda Motor Co. which went unresolved after several visits to the dealer.

The sunroof spontaneously exploded while traveling at 50mph. Was not a rock. The sound was extremely distracting and could easily cause a wreck, especially if the sunroof visor was open. Could also cause bodily harm.

I was driving in the city at a speed of thirty mph when my wife, a passenger in the car, and myself, heard a loud pop. Suddenly I was unable to see the traffic which was following me because my rear window was completely shattered. Since I had traffic behind me and it was raining hard, I decided to drive a few more blocks to seek refuge and help at a nearby Car dealership, which specializes in glass repair. There they taped and covered the rear window opening in plastic after removing the shattered windshield and vacuuming up the many glass pieces which fell into the car. I have had to contact my insurance company, as both Honda Corporation and the warranty I have remaining on the vehicle will not cover the repair. This I was told by by the Honda dealer where I purchased the vehicle.

The backup camera does not work approximately 25% of the time car is put in reverse. This is an ongoing problem and has occurred dozens of times over the last 2 months. The screen is blank except for the guidance lines. There are no warning lamps or alarms during the malfunction. The problem has not been confirmed or inspected by the dealer or other representatives.
NHTSA complaint #11632224 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.
The vehicle was taken to two Honda dealerships apon noticing the D light blinking on the dashboard after reaching highway speeds. Also started getting worse overtime, currently when starting up, and putting into drive, nothing happens, and after a few seconds it will plurge forward into gear on its own. Down shifting when braking is rough and delayed also. Ive addressed this issue with Honda, and they just look my vin number and tell me there is no recall and id have to pay $200 out of pocket simply to run a diagnostic, when I know this should be covered under their recall as all symptoms are matching their current recalls for this vehicle. Also accomanied sometimes with a check engine light indicating the O2 Sensor connected to the catalater converter is having a delayed reaction. Also the airbag red light is always steady illuminated. This vehicle has never been in a crash and is very well maintained and Id like to keep it that way by addressing this issues accordingly in a timely manner. Thank you, Kindly.

The contact owns a 2003 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving at 70 MPH on Interstate 64 East, traveling through a construction zone, an unknown vehicle passed him and asphalt flew in the air, striking and cracking the front windshield. After fifteen to twenty minutes, the side air bags deployed. Then, a few seconds later, the steering wheel and front air bags deployed without impact or warning. There were no warning lights illuminated. There was an unknown abnormal alarm that was engaged. The contact was able to pull over safely. The contact disconnected the battery. The contact sustained a chemical burn to the left arm, but medical attention was not provided. There was no fire, crash, or police report filed. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer, who was unable to determine the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, who opened a case, but no additional assistance was provided. The insurance company determined that the seat pre-tensioner failed to lock up. The failure mileage was approximately 86,822.

I was driving on [XXX] when my sunroof glass exploded. I was not around any other cars when this incident happened. Thankfully I had my sunroof visor closed. Had it not been for that; glass would have poured all over me and possibly caused me to have a bad wreck or worse; lose my life. I filed a claim that same day with my insurance company, only to get the run around and be told that they possibly won’t cover it due to they deeming it a mechanical failure. I was not operating the sunroof at all at the time of the incident so there was no mechanical failure. I had full insurance coverage at the time of the incident. I have sent in pictures and a full description to my insurance adjuster. The car itself has not been inspected by anyone other than myself. I would like this matter resolved immediately.
