The contact stated that there was a blister on the driver's side front tire on the side wall close to the tread. The contact stated that the blister was the size of a lemon. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who advised the contact to call the tire manufacturer. The contact called the manufacturer and was advised to take the vehicle back to the dealer. The dealer informed the contact that the tire had to be replaced out-of-pocket. Additionally, the contact also noticed a small blister, the size of a cherry on the rear driver's side tire on the side wall near the tread. The vehicle manufacturer was also notified of the failure. The vehicle and tire failure mileage was 2,299.

I GOT DOWN ON MY HANDS AND KNEES TO LOOK AT THE TIRE AND THEN NOTICED LARGE ROTTED HOLES IN FRAME BY TIRES. I THEN LAID ON MY BACK AND NOTICED THAT THE ENTIRE FRAME WAS ROTTED OUT FROM FRONT TO BACK. THIS IS SO BAD THAT I CAN PUSH HOLES THROUGH THE FRAME WITH JUST MY FINGERS. I HAVE SINCE GOTTEN ONLINE AND DISCOVERED THAT THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL ISSUED ON THIS VEHICLE FOR A CONTROL ARM BRACKET THAT BREAKS OFF OF THE FRAME DUE TO ROT. THIS ISSUE HAS FAR EXCEEDED THAT RECALL AND I AM WANTING TO KNOW WHAT WOULD BE MY BEST COURSE OF ACTION FROM HERE? I THEN TOOK IT TO FIRESTONE, WHO SAYS THE NOISE IS "VERY ABNORMAL" AND HAS OFFERED TO REPLACE THE TIRES FOR HALF PRICE (PRICE LESS 1/2 OF USAGE). HONDA (DOWNEY, CA) STATED THEY HAD EXPERIENCED THE SAME THING WITH 3 OTHER PASSPORTS AND FEEL THIS IS VERY NORMAL. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING FOR 30 YEARS AND HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED ANYTHING LIKE THIS.
