General Grabbers AT Driving center lane on clear highway. Tire had a complete sidewall blow out total separation of sidewall and tread. Almost lost control of vehicle. Brand new vehicle with only 400 miles on it. Location on the outside of the sidewall. We saved the tire if you would like us to send it in for inspection.

TIRES

Tread separation on one of the tires at approximately 34K miles of driving and premature tread wear. 2023 Honda Passport, bought new from Classic Honda in Orlando Florida. Dealer wouldn't report it to Continental Tires and quoted me to install 2 new tires from the same brand (Continental) and after charging me alignment (that didn't solve the problem on my first visit).

Tire sidewall separation. Tire manufacturer has recalled other tires with different mold numbers for this exact same issue but this tire isn't included in recall but has now shown the same issue. This could have caused a catastrophic blowout failure had I not caught.

TIRES

I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE ON THE 5TH OF JULY 2013. TOOK THE VEHICLE HOME AND NOTICED A BADLY DEFECTIVE TIRE ON THE RIGHT REAR AND THAT THE BRAKES WERE HAVING ISSUES WHICH INCLUDED POOR STOPPING AND A VIBRATION IN THE BACK. I GOT DOWN ON MY HANDS AND KNEES TO LOOK AT THE TIRE AND THEN NOTICED LARGE ROTTED HOLES IN FRAME BY TIRES. I THEN LAID ON MY BACK AND NOTICED THAT THE ENTIRE FRAME WAS ROTTED OUT FROM FRONT TO BACK. THIS IS SO BAD THAT I CAN PUSH HOLES THROUGH THE FRAME WITH JUST MY FINGERS. I HAVE SINCE GOTTEN ONLINE AND DISCOVERED THAT THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL ISSUED ON THIS VEHICLE FOR A CONTROL ARM BRACKET THAT BREAKS OFF OF THE FRAME DUE TO ROT. THIS ISSUE HAS FAR EXCEEDED THAT RECALL AND I AM WANTING TO KNOW WHAT WOULD BE MY BEST COURSE OF ACTION FROM HERE? I AM NOW AFRAID TO EVEN MOVE THIS VEHICLE OUT OF MY DRIVE WAY DUE TO SAFETY CONCERNS FOR MYSELF OR OTHERS AROUND ME. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR TIME ON THIS ISSUE AND I LOOK FORWARD TO A RESPONSE FROM YOU ON THIS MATTER.... TIRES

MY TIRES "SQUILL" CONSTANTLY UPON ANY TYPE OF TURN AT A VERY LOW SPEED OR TURN. THE SQUILL SOUNDS LIKE I AM TURNING FAST AT 80MPH WHEN IN FACT IT IS JUST A NORMAL TURN. I HAVE TAKEN MY PASSPORT TO HONDA, WHO SAYS EVERYTHING IS UP TO "SPECIFICATIONS" AND THE SQUILL IS FROM THE HEAT OF THE PAVEMENT. I THEN TOOK IT TO FIRESTONE, WHO SAYS THE NOISE IS "VERY ABNORMAL" AND HAS OFFERED TO REPLACE THE TIRES FOR HALF PRICE (PRICE LESS 1/2 OF USAGE). HONDA (DOWNEY, CA) STATED THEY HAD EXPERIENCED THE SAME THING WITH 3 OTHER PASSPORTS AND FEEL THIS IS VERY NORMAL. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING FOR 30 YEARS AND HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED ANYTHING LIKE THIS. MY TIRES SQUILL AT EVERY SLIGHT TURN THERE IS.
