No check engine lights prior to this, car started to make a noise pulled over to check it out as I was merging over low oil pressure showed and coolant level over temperature, gear then dropped to neutral, managed to pull over without any accidents car then shut off, oil leaked, it makes a horrible engine noise when starting, had to tow it back. only had the car a year maintenance was up to date.

While driving at highway speeds, my 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited unexpectedly shifted from Drive into Neutral without any driver input. This has occurred twice at different speeds. The following day, the same problem happened again under similar conditions. When this occurs, the vehicle loses power to the drivetrain, creating a dangerous situation in traffic. Despite having the EGR replaced under recall the unit still exploded while driving on wed 4 Mar 2026. Fluids were leaking and had indicated issues with the electric shifter. The local dealerships states the egr cooler needs replaced, coolant tank, DPF and oil change (despite just being done the Saturday before). Refusing to acknowledge any connection to previous recall or associated damages. Contacted FCA customer support and ignored my concerns and said just pay the dealer the $6000+.

Vehicle began displaying check engine light. Diagnostic code P219B (Bank 2 air-fuel ratio imbalance) was identified. Vehicle was serviced and a valve-related repair was performed. Shortly after, engine performance worsened and further inspection revealed metal shavings in engine oil and confirmed internal lifter/valvetrain failure. Oil levels were normal and maintenance records are available. No warning of low oil pressure or overheating occurred prior to failure. Independent service center and inspector confirmed internal mechanical failure. Engine failure created risk of sudden loss of power while driving. Rocker arm bearings went bad, need to replace all rockers and perhaps a cam or 2, this is know as the Penstar tick due to poor quality metals from Chrysler . They need to do a recall and fix for all affected cars as this is a labor intensive job and could cost up to 3000 dollars in repairs!

On the highway my 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Diesel briefly stalled and the check engine light came on. I then lost all power and could only maintain a speed of 45MPH in a 70MPH speed limit highway. I turned on my flashers and could not get off the road due to construction and Jersey barriers for several miles. When I had the opportunity I pulled off the side of the road and called to have my vehicle towed to a service facility. I was informed by the mechanic that scanned my car for trouble codes, a P0336-00 was set in my PCM. The mechanic informed me that I would have to take the vehicle to a Jeep Chrysler dealer. This is apparently a known issue with 2014 to 2018 Jeep Grad Cherokees equipped with the 3.0L diesel engine including RAM 1500s of the same vintage with the same diesel engine installed. The specific problem is that the crank shaft tone wheel is not read by the crankshaft position sensor because of degradation to the tone wheel which is connected to the crankshaft. I have complied with all safety and emission recalls. Related: RC-RW68-20 Safety Recall W68 Transport Canada 2020-371 Loss of Crankshaft Position. Requires the replacement of the Tone wheel. Issued 02/11/2021. RC-RW58-20 Safety Recall W68 Transport Canada 2020-371 Loss of Crankshaft Position. Requires PCM Software update for Loss of Crankshaft Position. In lieu of the Tone Wheel failing, the computer uses the Camshaft Position sensor. This is only designed to not disable the car completely but allow the driver to pull of the road. P0335-00 or P0336-00 wil be set and a check engine light will illuminate. My vehicle was not included in the NTHSA Safety Recall and it should have been.

2015 jeep grand cherokees going into neutral on occasion while driving at speeds above 45mph. I brought my truck to jeep and expressed my concern about this safety issue and my safety. I was informed by jeep there is nothing wrong with my jeep since no codes are showing. I asked to speak to the mechanic and the mechanic told me that there is not one problem with that jeep and the 8 gear transmission is the most stable. He then said you probably put the jeep in neutral while driving. I was completely frustrated with his response and said to him, do you think I would put my jeep in neutral while driving 55mph and risk my life and possibly someone elses? I left the dealership very upset as you can imagine. A few days later it happened again and I contacted the jeep dealer to let them know the issue. Never heard back from them. I was also given the email of my service manager. I sent him a video of what happened after the car went into neutral. I also sent him links that I found online about other jeep owners complaining of their jeep going into neutral while driving. I have not heard back from the dealership yet. My guess, jeep is trying to hide this known issue. When the jeep goes into neutral the check engine light goes on and you cannot put car back in drive you have to coast to side of road. Try doing that on a 3 lane highway. Very very dangerous! Please look into this issue 🙏. I bought the car from carmax and carmax said I could have jeep look into issue. The jeep repair center reports there is no issue nor have they heard of any issue like this. If you google jeep goes into neutral while driving there are many threads about such incidents. "Check shifter" seems to come on almost everyday. From what I've gathered about it it could shift out of gear while driving. Could be a sensor or harness issue that I was told by a mechanic. No incident yet. This should be recalled as it seems to be a common issue with this Jeep.

WHEN STOPPING AND SUDDENLY ACCELRATING JEEP HAS A POWER DELAY AND YOU HAVE TO HIT THE THROTTLE AGRESSIVELY TO GET GOING OR ELSE I RUN THE RISK OF GETTING HIT BY ANOTHER CAR, BUT ONCE YOU HIT THROTTLE THE POWER IS MORE THAN YOU NEED IT OR EXPECTED IT, FORCING ME TO BRAKE OR ELSE I HIT THE PCAR INFRONT OF ME. I AM STILL NOT ABLE TO MAKE THIS WORK. I PURCHASED THE CAR USED, I AM STILL MAKING PAYMENTS AND I BARELY USE IT BECAUSE I FIND IT EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AT TIME.
