On March 5, 2026, while I and my 2 passengers were traveling on the 405 Freeway at approximately 40–50 mph, the vehicle suffered a catastrophic total loss of power. The engine shut off and all electronic systems failed simultaneously, including the instrument cluster and all interior lighting. Most critically, the hazard lights were inoperable, leaving the vehicle invisible to high-speed traffic during the failure. Since I was traveling at highway speeds I was able to safely glide the vehicle to the center shoulder. After approximately 10–15 minutes, the dashboard, infotainment, and climate control systems began flickering intermittently before power temporarily returned. Upon attempting to re-enter traffic to reach an exit, the vehicle stalled a second time while in motion. I returned to the shoulder again. After another 10 minutes the vehicle started and I was eventually able to exit the freeway and reach my residence. The following morning, the vehicle was completely unresponsive and would not start. It was towed to Land Rover Santa Monica dealership on March 6, 2026, where it currently remains for diagnosis and repair. This incident on the 405 freeway marks the third occurrence of a total loss of propulsion and electrical failure while the vehicle was in motion. Despite previous repair attempts, the defect persists, rendering the vehicle fundamentally unsafe for operation. I am gravely concerned for my personal safety, as well as the safety of other motorists on public streets and highways. A vehicle that spontaneously stalls at high speeds—while simultaneously losing the ability to activate hazard lights—presents an unacceptable risk of a high-speed rear-end collision. Given that this is a recurring, catastrophic safety failure, I am requesting an immediate and permanent resolution, as the vehicle in its current state is a liability to public safety and unsafe to be driven by me or anyone.

I purchased this vehicle in the end of October and shortly thereafter within 50 miles two days the check engine light came on P0299 turbo under boost. Immediately thereafter, exhaust fumes began entering the cabin from the engine bay. I notified the dealership and they gave me a loaner vehicle and they took it to complete auto care in Denver Colorado to have the vehicle fixed. I was told that the vehicle had a cracked turbo manifold, and the turbo manifold and the entirety of the setup of the turbo needed to be replaced. I find that odd that the check engine light came on with 50 miles of purchasing the new vehicle on the second day. It appears to me that the check engine light was cleared from the vehicle, and the vehicle was sold only for the light to return more quickly than they anticipated.I received the vehicle back no check engine light no exhaust fumes. It appeared had been repaired. I went through a 500 mile break-in of the new turbo. Within that 500 miles of the new turbo, I began to smell a gasoline, also coming from the vents and the engine bay once again entering the cabin. I documented all of this information and I contacted the dealership. Hooshies Auto Sales in Denver Colorado. And I also contacted the shop that completed the repair repairs. The dealership has not responded to multiple emails, indicating there’s an immediate risk to myself and my daughters in the vehicle from carbon monoxide from the exhaust fumes entering the cabin, not only that fuel fumes are still entering the cabin. The check engine light is back on P0299 turbo underboost. I have parked the vehicle as it is no longer drivable. I am in need of a vehicle for work and for personal needs. The dealership has escalated this to the owners, which I have tried to contact multiple times via phone and email and they will not respond nor will they call me back.

While driving on [XXX] on [XXX] from Burlington VT airport to Barre VT, the vehicle suddenly slowed and did not respond to the gas pedal. This was at about 5 pm. Managed to get the vehicle to the small curb but was partly in the right lane of highway. Many cars veered around us. Felt could easily have been hit from behind. Vehicle finally started after several tries and got it to a larger curb area. No warning lights came one before the stall, until just beforehand. Flashing lights then briefly lighted. Got vehicle towed to a repair shop that only kept it for several days and restarted several times. Then, had it towed to a Land Rover dealer in Bedford, NH, where it has been now for several days. They drove it and the problem recurred. Still no word on what happened. The vehicle has 26,000 miles and was purchased new in May of 2020. All required service was done by Land Rover dealers. Several time While driving on the interstate my vehicle loses power and low coolant light came on then went off. Light constantly does that even though there is plenty of coolant in the tank. One day [XXX} when trying to pick up speed, I was going 60 and my car went completely limp then picked back up causing me to panic as I had truckers on the highway as I was trying to merge. I pulled over to the side of the interstate hit my emergency flashers, turned the car off and started again to continue on my trip when I started driving again I had my car start overheating and was slowing down not able to get over something popped and smoke started coming out from under the hood a belt had busted causing fluids to go everywhere. Had my car towed to dealership in Hilton head island where they replaced my belt and battery said everything was fine and good to go. Car continues to have same problem and can’t get dealership to fix it as appointments are 2 months out. Took it to a mechanic who said I clearly have slash marks and burns on hoses and one of the water lines that is aluminum or metal had a whole that has turned into a bigger one which should have been caught when belt busted. 2012 Range Rover Evoque suddenly, and without warning died while driving in traffic, and would not restart. It needed to be pushed away from oncoming traffic. A sheriff deputy was summoned to control traffic, as we did this. There were no warning lamps, or messages appearing on the display, both before and after the incident. Currently the car is at a foreign repair facility here in Lexington, KY. The name of the facility is: Scheller Automotive, (859) 225-6277. I spoke earlier with Andy, who stated it was an issue with no compression, which prevented it from being started. He believed it had to do with a dislocated cam gear, which caused a timing failure. According to him, there is a Range Rover service bulletin which they received describing this engine failing, but no recall regarding this issue. He said they now have THREE vehicles in the shop, with this same problem. This catastrophic failure could lead to definite safety concerns, by causing the car to die unexpectedly, without warning, and losing power steering, power breaks, and the possibility of safely exiting vehicle while in traffic.

Around June of this year, my engine light came on. I took it to my technician, who cleared the code. After an accident on 7/4/23, and after picking the car up from being repaired, the engine light came on again. It is a code that indicates there is a "Cracked or faulty turbo charger". Extensive research has shown this to be a manufacturing defect, which can cause catastrophic failure. The manufacturer, Tata Motors is well aware of this problem and has been since 2011, yet they continued to build cars with this defect. The manifold that the turbo charger is attached to at the back of this transverse engine, has a weld across the entire top. A weld in a manifold of any kind is inappropriate and dangerous. The only option is to have a $6,000 repair done. This is unacceptable and I demand that Tata Motors issue a recall for the years affected.

The fuel outlet flange mounted on the fuel tank cracked, which caused a fuel leak that could have resulted in a fire. This has been confirmed by the dealership currently servicing the vehicle. There were no hazard lights that came on to indicate an issue. Only the extreme smell of raw fuel. There has been another recall for this same issue on other models.
