In 2023, my vehicle experienced a transmission/CVT-related failure that resulted in a loss of propulsion. The vehicle became unable to continue driving and was stopped in Chino Hills, California. A neighbor called the police, and officers responded to the scene, although no police report was filed. The vehicle was subsequently towed to an authorized Nissan dealership, where the transmission/transaxle was replaced. After the replacement, the vehicle later developed a transmission fluid leak. I returned the vehicle to the authorized dealership regarding the leak, and the concern was addressed at no charge. However, the transmission fluid leak has since recurred. An independent repair facility recently inspected the vehicle and observed an active fluid leak around the transmission assembly, as well as an apparent abnormal condition in the transmission area. The exact cause of the current leak has not yet been fully diagnosed and is currently unknown. The condition is available for further inspection. The Check Engine Light is currently illuminated, and the vehicle is unable to pass an emissions inspection. My primary concern is vehicle safety. This vehicle previously experienced an actual loss of propulsion associated with a transmission-related failure and had to be towed. Because the replacement transmission/transaxle is now experiencing a recurring fluid leak and an unresolved condition, I am concerned about the possibility of another transmission-related mechanical failure or loss of propulsion while driving. I am also concerned about potential safety risks associated with continued fluid leakage in the vehicle. The current problem has been observed by an independent repair facility but has not yet received a complete formal diagnosis. To my knowledge, the manufacturer has not inspected the current recurring condition.

I am submitting this complaint regarding what I believe is a premature paint system failure on my 2024 Nissan Sentra (VIN: [XXX]). At approximately 30,000 miles, the paint on the rear bumper and the front hood has developed extensive chipping and peeling that appears excessive for a vehicle of this age and mileage. While some stone chips are expected during normal driving, the extent and severity of the paint failure suggest the factory paint system may not have been properly applied. The damaged areas appear to have little or no visible primer beneath the paint, indicating what I believe may be poor paint adhesion, inadequate primer application, or an insufficient clear coat. The paint chips away very easily, exposing the underlying surface. I initially brought the vehicle to Loyalty Nissan in Short Pump, Virginia. Because that dealership does not have a collision or paint repair facility, I was referred to Hyman Brothers Nissan in Midlothian, Virginia for evaluation. During my discussions at Hyman Brothers, I was verbally informed by the dealership's paint technician that the condition appeared consistent with either an insufficient amount of hardener in the paint, an excessively thin clear coat, or both. Based on my own observations, I also believe the primer may not have been properly applied because little or no primer is visible where the paint has chipped away. However, these observations were not included in the dealership's written documentation. I opened a case with Nissan Consumer Affairs requesting warranty coverage. My claim was denied based solely on photographs submitted for review. I do not believe the concerns raised by the dealership personnel regarding the apparent quality of the factory paint application were fully considered during Nissan's review. Good morning. I wanted to make you aware of a potential safety concern with the 2024 Sentra. The ECO button is very close to the trunk open button, and on 2 separate occasions, I have accidentally opened my trunk instead of switching to eco mode while driving. Luckily, at the time of these incidents, I was traveling at a relatively low speed and able to quickly pull over. But this could be quite dangerous if it happened on the interstate or other major highway at higher speed and if there are items inside the trunk that could fall out. It seems like common sense that the trunk should remain locked and unable to open while the vehicle is in drive.

After Nissan dealership updated ECM on 6/1/2026, the MIL came on with code p0101. This causes the car to go into limo mode while driving on the highway. I took car back to Nissan who said they needed to clean the wires, which they did and cleared the code. Again while driving the car went into limo mode. Nissan now says I needed an $8,000 new computer. Again the car went into limo mode while driving. The car can be driven but randomly goes into limo mode. This only happened immediately after the ECM update in June 2026, and may cause an accident if it continues to randomly go into limo mode.

Reverse camera is very blurry. You have to squint your eyes to see what the object is when reversing. Daylight helps a little but but at nights it's pretty much faulty. I have attached some pictures, however, the AI features of my phone make the image better than it really is. The car was sold like this, and the consesionary told me that other cars, not just mine, camera was faulty. Please help, this looks worse than the camera of a 2015 ford fusion.

While driving in rush hour traffic, I heard an intermittent vibration/noise that seemed to come and go and became louder when I stopped. As I put my car in park when I got home, I heard a loud clunk and the battery light came on. When I popped the hood, we saw metal shavings flying around. The dealer diagnosed the alternator and provided a quote for replacement. I am concerned the failure could have caused a loss of power while driving and caused an accident in heavy traffic. The vehicle and component are currently at the dealership. I have a video of the metal shavings that I can provide if needed, but I am unable to upload to the website.

Date of purchase from dealer: right passenger door lock non-functional. the salesperson had to have the door opened from the outside to exit the car. He took the care to be repaired while the paperwork was completed. Subsequently I have been unable to exit both doors without pushing the UNLOCK button. The door handle does not itself open the door. 2. Both screens flicker/dim/darken, and at times are completely black for up to 5 seconds. 3. The rear passenger seat belt is extremely difficult to latch with child safety seat in place. The car was taken to two different dealers without any repair/s completed. I was told the door lock having to be manually opened was a 'safety feature'. I was told that the screen dims on purpose related to a monitor on the dash. I brought a video of it happening. It happens in the dark with no streetlights or change of lighting. I was told that the back passenger seat belt "works fine if you don't put a child safety seat there." The dealer who sold me the vehicle states they have no record of repairing the right front door lock the day of purchase. I had my niece with me in the car and witnessed the problem. When I asked for a copy of the service completed, they stated that they have none.

I leased a new 2026 Nissan Sentra SR from O'Neil Nissan at 849 W Street Rd, Warminster, PA 18974. Couple of days after leasing the car I had trouble starting it. I took it to Service at O'Neil Nissan. They checked the battery and put a new software version on my car. Now my dashboard doesn't come on right away when I start my car. I have to wait close to a minute for it to come on. This presents a safety issue. The camera doesn't work, I don't have maps loaded. What is the point of safety features if they don't work? I called the dealership, schedule another appointment, but they are basically telling me the software update probably has glitches and it just takes a long time to load the screens. What's with the guessing? Why aren't they taking the issue seriously. The worst part is that the gauges don't load sometimes and there are no manual gauges. So it appears that the dealership wants me to drive blindly without gauges. It makes no sense and it puts the driver and other people in danger. Something needs to be done about this.

2020 Nissan Sentra Backup Camera. The camera periodically goes out only displaying a blue screen. Researched and discovered it was a recall. Went to the dealership and asked them and they said my cars recall was marked as completed back in 2023 to which I had no knowledge of. The issue was not resolved and was just marked as cleared without proper inspection. Dealerships are refusing to fix the recall since it was already (incorrectly) marked as complete.

My vehicle stalled. I had to get someone to help me move it out if a busy traffic thoroughfare. It was making odd noises then was stuck in reverse only. I took it to my mechanic who informed me the transmission had failed and that I needed a new one. I work from home and do not drive my vehicle consistently.
