Chrysler is also recalling all 2013-2014 and 2018 Ram 1500, 2500 and 3500 pickup trucks built before April 1, 2018 with a 6 or 8 foot bed and a power locking tailgate. On August 29, 2019 Chrysler expanded the recall to include an additional 693,128 model year 2013-2014 Ram 1500, 2500 and 3500 pickup trucks. Improper installation and machining of the original equipment steering knuckle may weaken the joint between the steering drag link and knuckle.
Risk: The weakened connection may result in a fractured steering drag link, causing a loss of steering and increasing the risk of a crash.

Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2014-2018 Dodge Journey, Charger and Durango, RAM 2500, 3500, 3500 Cab Chassis (more than 10,000lb), 4500 Cab Chassis and 5500 Cab Chassis, Jeep Cherokee and Grand Cherokee and Chrysler 300, 2014-2019 RAM 1500, 2015-2018 Dodge Challenger, 2015-2017 Chrysler 200, 2016-2018 RAM 3500 Cab Chassis (less than 10,000 lb), 2017-2018 Chrysler Pacifica and 2018 Jeep Wrangler vehicles. These vehicles are being recalled to address a defect that could prevent the cruise control system from disengaging. If, when using cruise control, there is a short circuit within the vehicle's wiring, the driver may not be able to shut off the cruise control either by depressing the brake pedal or manually turning the system off once it has been engaged, resulting in either the vehicle maintaining its current speed or possibly accelerating.
Risk: If the vehicle maintains its speed or accelerates despite attempts to deactivate the cruise control, there would be an increased risk of a crash.

POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION
Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2017-2018 RAM 1500, 2500, 3500, 3500 Cab Chassis, 4500 Cab Chassis, and 5500 Cab Chassis vehicles, all equipped with a column shifter. Pushing the brake pedal for prolonged periods when the vehicle is running and in PARK may cause the Brake Transmission Shift Interlock (BTSI) pin to stick in the open position. With the pin in the open position, the transmission can be shifted out of PARK into any gear without pushing the brake pedal or having the key in the ignition.
Risk: Being able to shift the transmission without pushing the brake pedal and/or without a key in the ignition can increase the risk of an unintended vehicle rollaway that may result in personal injury or a crash.

Issue: On certain vehicles, the tire and loading information label does not list that there is no spare tire in both official languages. The label reads as "NONE" when it should read as "NONE / AUCUN". Canadian regulations require the information to be listed on the label in both English and French. Issue: This recall is for certain replacement parts for use on Ram Heavy Duty trucks that were sold by dealer parts departments. This recall is not being conducted under the requirements of the Motor Vehicle Safety Act. If the outboard steering linkage jam nut is not welded according to the Dealer Service Instructions for safety recall V06, it could loosen and allow one end of the drag link to separate from the adjuster sleeve. A drag link separation can result in a loss of steering control. The following 4x4 style steering system parts are included in this recall: Drag Link Assembly (Part # 68369907AA) Jam Nut (Part # 06510749AA and Part # 06510750AA) Drag Link Outer (Part # 68111301AA) Drag Link Adjuster (Part #68111302AA) Drag Link Inner (Part # 68111304AA) Safety Risk: A loss of steering control could increase the risk of a crash. The contact owns a 2017 Ram 2500. The contact stated that the vehicle was previously repaired on two occasions under warranty and under extended warranty due to the brake failure. The contact later received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V896000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the ABS and the traction control warning lights were illuminated, along with a dinging sound. The contact stated that the warning lights had caused the 4WD and cruise control modes to become inoperable. Additionally, the contact stated that while her husband was driving 65 MPH, a deer jumped in front of the vehicle. The driver depressed the brake pedal, but the brakes locked up, and the vehicle failed to stop in time and hit the deer. The air bags did not deploy. There was no injury sustained. The driver's side fender, the bumpers and brackets, and the headlights were damaged. The driver taped up the damaged parts and was able to drive away from the scene. The vehicle was taken to an auto collision repair shop, where it was repaired for the damage sustained during the incident. No police report was filed. LaFontaine Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Fenton (16555 Silver Pkwy, Fenton, MI 48430) was contacted and confirmed that the recall part was unavailable. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired for brake failure. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. I was entering an intersection on a green light when a car from the cross street entered from the right running a red light. I hit them at approximately 35-40 mph in the driver side doors. My airbags failed to deploy. The cab on my truck was shifted more than 2 inches off the frame and was a total loss since the original repair estimate was more than $43,000. The reporting firemen and paramedics and the repair shop all could not believe that the air bags did not deploy. My passenger and I are still suffering from injuries sustained in the accident, which are likely much worse because of the failure of the airbags to deploy.

The contact stated that while driving on several occasions at various speeds, the ABS warning light illuminated and the messages "Service ABS” and “Service Traction Control" were displayed. The contact added that while the cruise control was activated, the vehicle lunged forward while decelerating and the cruise control inadvertently deactivated. The contact stated that while driving over a bump in the roadway, the failure reoccurred, and the ABS warning light was flickering on and off with an audible chime. This is in regard to safety recall C4B. I have been contacting RAM dealers for almost 5 years on this issue and they have not had parts the whole time. I am sure they are mandated to build vehicles with ABS and this is obviously a common issue if you finally required the recall. I see they had the parts available for the CAB/ CHASSIS models which is the same part. How can there be a recall and no action this is not a new issue that was sprung on them. When I complain to the dealer they tell me to simply park the truck if I am worried about it. This is pure frustration as I paid for the traction control and cruise control and ABS but none of this has been available for 5 years and it seems like there is zero recourse.

The recall C4B/NHTSB 24v-893 came out in January of 2025. The parts are still not available for this recall (per Chrysler/RAM). I have been driving my truck with a possible non-working ABS system for a year and a half, often pulling a 10,000 lb trailer. I feel that this is ridiculous that the part is still not available. The recall C4B/NHTSB 24v-893 came out in January of 2025. The parts are still not available for this recall (per Chrysler/RAM). I have been driving my truck with a possible non-working ABS system for a year and a half, often pulling a 10,000 lb trailer. I feel that this is ridiculous that the part is still not available. If I had a wreck during this time, I guarantee that I would sue the crap out of Chrysler.

The contact owns a 2017 Ram 2500. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V896000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC); however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The local dealer was contacted, and it was confirmed that the part was not available. The contact stated that the ABS and Traction Control warning lights were consistently illuminated, causing the Cruise control to randomly disengage while driving. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The local dealer and the manufacturer were notified of the failures. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 116,000.

I have contacted the dealer several times and they are well aware of the issue but say there is not a remedy yet. However, they offered to replace the HCU with the same one but I pay for it and I will likely end up with the same problem down the road. That just seems absurd to me.

The contact owns a 2017 Ram 2500. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the ABS warning light illuminated. The dealer was contacted several times; however, the contact was informed that the parts were unavailable to repair the vehicle. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The contact stated that the failure was a persistent failure. The contact stated that the vehicle was unsafe, and that a recall related to the failure had been open for more than twenty-four months. In addition, the contact stated that the vehicle was used for camping and towing. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V896000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic); however, parts were unavailable. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The contact was referred to the dealer for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 32,000.

Vehicle: 2017 Ram 2500 4x4 Diesel NHTSA Recall Number: 24V-896 Manufacturer Recall Number: C4B My vehicle is subject to Recall 24V-896 involving a Brake Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) that may fail and cause intermittent loss of ABS, Electronic Stability Control, and Traction Control. Beginning around September 2025, my vehicle started experiencing intermittent ABS and Electronic Braking System warning lights while driving. The warnings occur randomly during vehicle operation and not only at startup. I have contacted and visited my Ram dealership multiple times regarding both the recall and the active warning lights. The dealership advised that recall parts were not available and did not perform a diagnosis of the warning lights. I was informed that the recall remedy was unavailable and was not provided a determination regarding whether the vehicle was safe to operate. Because the dealership would not diagnose the active warning condition, I paid for an independent inspection. On March 5, 2026, an independent repair facility diagnosed Diagnostic Trouble Code C0020-01 (ABS Pump Motor Control Failure). Their inspection notes state that they flow-tested the ABS system and determined that the ABS module was faulty. The symptoms currently being experienced by my vehicle appear consistent with the failure mode described in Recall 24V-896, which states that a failing HCU may initially result in intermittent loss of ABS and traction control before progressing to permanent loss. As of June 2026, the recall remains incomplete and the remedy is still unavailable. I am concerned that the vehicle is exhibiting symptoms consistent with the recalled defect while no repair is available. I am requesting NHTSA review the delay in providing a remedy and the safety implications of vehicles experiencing active symptoms associated with this recall while parts remain unavailable.
