I have problem with rear window light water leak. This light has water leak and I have a lot of water after each rain. Many of my things were destroyed because of this. I know RAM has reacalls for this huge problem, but they denied to fix my car, because there is no this recall under my VIN. But I read a lot of comments on RAM forums and many people complaining about this issue. I also saw that some people were able to fix it under the recall but I don't have any idea who I should contact for help. I need them to fix this issue in my car also, because this is manufacture issue not because of me

2016 RAM 3500 Springville, CA

STRUCTURE:BODY

I purchased this vehicle new in 2016. It currently has approximately 49,000 miles. It has never been involved in any collision. In Feb. 2023 I took it to a Les Schwab Tire Center to have the drag link replaced & alignment done. When the repairs were completed the technician informed me that I may have a rear axle misalignment as he noticed the rear axle appeared to have shifted to the right of the vehicle & recommended taking it to a collision repair shop for further inspection. My next move was taking it to an independent shop & have the rear leaf springs inspected for correct alignment which found nothing abnormal but they also measured from the center of the front wheel to the center of the rear wheel on both sides of the vehicle and found a difference in measurement of approximately 3/4". They had me drive the vehicle down the road as they followed & verified the rear of the truck was tracking to the right. I then proceeded to take it to a Ram Dealer repair shop for inspection & concluded that the rear of the truck was tracking to the right but that they were not equipped to make corrections & recommended taking it to a collision repair shop. I then proceeded with a collision repair shop where they put it on a rack & took measurements of the frame & only found a slight abnormal condition in the frame on the right side in front of the rear axle but concluded that they did not believe it would be was causing the issue. So the issue I have is rear of the truck is tracking to the right. I never knew there was an issue with the truck before I took it to Les Schwab for its first alignment.

NHTSA complaint #11496055 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.

2021 RAM 3500 Sioux Falls, SD

STRUCTURE:BODY

Went in for warranty repair for a recall of the lug nuts and wheel stud to find the dealership claimed they did the recall but committed fraud and actually didn’t. Went to pick up vehicle and go directly to Discount Tire for a tire rotation to find the lug nut and wheel stud completely broken off and the wheel not attached to the truck at all. “Only one pothole away” from coming off I was told. The dealership Lawley Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram in Sierra Vista, AZ didn’t want to work with me any longer and told me to “go [XXX] yourself” when I attempted to work with them for repair. This issue is exact repair the warranty recall was to avoid and should have been fixed. This is major issue which could have caused fatalities had I not gone directly to attempt a tire rotation. Vehicle was towed to dealer as that is only dealer warranty would tow to in area. The other issue is the truck has a “puck” system that was cut wrong at factory and is unable to be replaced as factory and dealership refuse to help and submit a claim. The vehicle has issues and less than 12,000 miles on it before first repair attempt. INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

2018 RAM 3500 at 37,000 miles Alexandria, VA

STRUCTURE:BODY

On Sept 11, 2022, we experienced a heavy rain shower while traveling along I64 westbound in VA. My 7 year old daughter in the back seat informed me the headliner was wet in the rear driver side corner. Upon further inspection the passenger side headliner rear corner was also wet. I inspected the top of the ruck, no damage was noted and the seals all appeared to be in place. There is a Jereco High Rise cap on the bed of the truck and we were pulling a 38' travel trailer at the time. The posted speed limit was 70mph on the stretch of road where the rain was encountered, however we were traveling between 40-60 mph during the rain event. No immediate safety risk was present. However, I'm concerned water intrusion may eventually result in an electrical fire or failure of a required safety device. Should water find it's way into a hidden harness or other electrical component such as the CHMSL (VOQ 10968851) or factory subwoofer which is located below the area which leaked. The vehicle has not been inspected or repaired by a dealer as it is just out of warranty. I did report this to RAM via Ram trucks on-line owner's portal. No warning lamps, messages have been observed at this time.

2014 RAM 3500 at 80,000 miles Days Creek, OR

STRUCTURE:FRAME AND MEMBERS:UNDERBODY SHIELDS

The contact owns a 2014 Ram 3500. The contact stated that while towing a trailer filled with horses, the bed had detached from the cab as she pulled into her driveway. When the contact unhooked the trailer, she discovered a 6-inch gap had formed between the cab and the bed of the vehicle. She also discovered cracks on driver’s and passenger’s side frame of the vehicle. The contact called the dealer and was informed that her vehicle was no longer under warranty. No further assistance was provided. The contact then called her insurance provider and was able to drive the vehicle to an independent mechanic for repair. The mechanic replaced the frame and had both sides of the frame steel plated. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had been repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.

Tailgate keeps dropping and unlatching. Have taken the truck multiple times. Dealer Larson Ram Puyallup has replaced tailgate latch once but tailgate still unlatches and drops intermittently both parked and while vehicle is in motion. Have called them multiple times but they concluded that they could not replicate issue when truck is in the shop.

NHTSA complaint #11457344 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.

2020 RAM 3500 Collinsville, IL Crash

STRUCTURE:BODY

This Laramie trim level truck has an electronic drop tailgate with a button to drop the tailgate on the overhead console and one on the key fob. The tailgate on my truck was closed during my pre-trip and entering the vehicle. I had a trailer hooked to the receiver hitch and drove ten miles before realizing the tailgate was now in the down position and caused significant damage to the tailgate because the tailgate made contact with the trailer. With the electronic release tailgate on this particular year truck there is not a warning message alerting the driver that the tailgate is ajar. There is such an alert on newer models (2021-2022) I went to a local dealership to check. I’m sure the tailgate drop button somehow was pressed on the key fob while in my pocket entering the truck. But I did not receive any alert on the instrument cluster or even hear the tailgate open because the tailgate has a soft open feature. I see this being a serious safety concern to possibly lose cargo and cause a more serious accident.

NHTSA complaint #11445680 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.

2021 RAM 3500 San Martin, CA

STRUCTURE:BODY

The tailgate opened without command. Was pulling a 5th wheel at the time and when the first turn onto the hwy the tailgate contacted the trailer and caused the stability light to illuminate on the warning panel. This is a safety hazard for obvious load securing reasons and also create a hazard on hwy while trying to stop any further damage to trailer. The manufacture sent a representative to inspect the tailgate and determined that it did not open by itself. Rather absurd since that particular 5th wheel cant be hooked up without closing the tail gate. I submit this report since the particular combination of options on my truck may have caused the uncommanded tailgate opening. I am sure that other reports will start to come in on this problem.

2020 RAM 3500 North Chicago, IL

STRUCTURE:BODY

Good afternoon, As I was traveling down the interstate today my tailgate unexpectedly opened with no action of mine. A passing traveler signaled to me that this happened, and I was very lucky that nothing came out of my bed to strike a vehicle behind me. I was towing a travel trailer and the tailgate sustained damage from striking the trailers jack. Not sure if this is a new issue, but I have seen similar recalls on Rams from years past.
