Back to my Initial seat belt on the same car. The car went in for service. The seat belt data showed it was fine. Again the belt pulled so aggressively it tore off my insulin pump patch by sliding upward aggressive as possible. After I took the car to Volvo they had some guy from corporate come look at computer data about the vehicle and test drive it and deemed it safe. I get the car back and zero work was done to the seat belt. The seat belt is harder to pull than it was before it went in. Multiple people in the service department agreed it’s much harder to pull. And literally said there’s nothing we can do cause the data did not show a srs notification. It’s my only car, I’m pretty sure the seat belt shot off or partially did and because their computer data says it’s ok they did nothing to actually investigate it. Allowing me their customer to drive around with a broken seat belt. the belt has a permanent, severe mechanical resistance to being pulled out that occurred simultaneously with the unprovoked tightening event. the vehicle manufacturer is refusing to repair a structurally compromised, physically stiffened safety restraint due to a lack of digital software codes. Glitches in software data on cars can easily happen and Volvo is entirely relying on computer data rather then physical investigation. The worst part is that people in service agreed the belt does not pull right but will do zero to look at it.

I was completely stopped at a left turn. The rear collision sensor went off for no reason. The seat belt locked up so aggressively I could not get a breathe in and it ripped my insulin pump patch right off my stomach. If I was a couple hours away from home my blood sugar would go through the roof and cause ketones which could be fatal. Luckily I was 20 mins away from home. Being a [XXX] since [XXX] I am now [XXX] Volvo told me this is normal safety feature after inspecting the log. I don’t think it’s normal for collision sensors to go off while not moving as well as the seat belt aggressively pulling to the point were I can’t breathe and it rips off a life depending medical device right out of my stomach. If it is normal then they should have a warning for [XXX]. I’m currently trying to get out of the car lease completely as this feature could literally kill me. I was driving home in my VolvoXC60. I think its a 2025 or 2024 model. I drive very safe and never do anything crazy when I drive. I came to a stop like normal at a red light and the screen said accident detected (specifically rear collision avoidance or rear collision something) and the seatbelt started crushing my chest and my body. It just continued to press down and crush me and the car wouldn’t let the seatbelt unbuckle like it was locked up. It was locked and basically just sucking her in with a very strong force. No car got close to me and I finally got it after like 2 minutes and drove home. I think its pretty unbelievable a new suv which is supposed to be very safe and reliable does that and appreantly and my chest is still very sore. Both dealerships near us don’t have a loaner car for a month. It was very scary and basically the car was crushing me for multiple minutes.

The USB ports under the center console malfunction frequently. The main, top engine mount disintegrated and needed to be replaced under 50,000 miles. The rear seat seatbelts come loose and sag easily. They do not retract automatically. The rubber stripping, where the door jamb is, comes off. The handles to the air vent break off very easily, rendering the vents inoperable. **The software for the vehicle malfunctions constantly, displaying the incorrect readings for fuel economy, the gas gauge, and more. It is possibly affecting the catalytic converters and O2 sensors. **The vehicle turns itself on, in battery mode. **The blind spot indicators to not light up sometimes and do not make any noise indications of nearby cars.

It was explained to me that since the Back rear seat in the Volvo XC60 seatbelt had a fault that it alerted the SRS airbag system. In event of a crash the airbags in my car would not deploy and that the only remedy was to replace the entire seatbelt in the Volvo. To prove this point I took my car in to a Volvo dealership and the technicians offered the fix as the only way my cars airbags would work if i got it fixed.

Since buying our xc60 Feb 2022, anytime we have our grandchildren we buckle their high back car seats in the rear seat of our volvo. Every time we install the car seats, the seat belts will not lock after being buckled. The implications of a seat belt failing to lock a car seat down could he catastrophic. It doesn't matter how many times we expand the belt and release it, tap the brake, buckle or unbuckle the belts will not lock. This poses a life threatening danger to children who are supposed to be safely secured in their seats. Coincidentally, the driver belt randomly locks sometimes even choking me if I lean forward quickly to get a better view. This happens without any sudden braking or change of speed. I have not visited a service center regarding the issue yet, I plan to address the issue at the upcoming vehicle maintenance and service appointment. Parents or caregivers need to be aware of this possibly dangerous failure. I check the belt tightness for our grandchildren car seats every time we stop. Until there is a resolution in place, I will attempt to find something that will keep the belt locked for a temporary solution. Please investigate for more possible complaints and issue a warning regarding this issue.

The front passenger seat belt will not release without much difficultly. If the vehicle started on fire or went into water, the passenger would likely die. I contacted Volvo and they will not help other than charging over $800 to replace the seat belt.

The contact owns a 2022 Volvo XC60. While driving at various speeds, the contact discovered that the lane assist safety feature failed to recognize the single or double yellow lines. In addition, he also discovered that the lane assists safety feature did not operate while driving under 35 MPH. The contact also mentioned that the seat belt audible alert would only chime twice and that the warning light would disappear after 45 seconds. The contact stated that without the constant reminder, a person might forget to use the seat belt. The dealer was notified about the seat belt issue and informed that customers preferred a limited seat belt reminder. The contact disagreed and stated that the seat belt reminder should remain constant until the seat belt was securely fastened. The contact sent an email to the manufacturer; however, the contact had not yet received a response. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 0.

This SUV. 2011 Volvo XC60 is our family travel vehicle. I had a bad scenario, The drivers side seat belt Buckle got stuck. Would not release, My girlfriend was in car trying to release buckle. This is not normal. its scary felling she told me. In a MVA. this may be a risk of stuck in car. The Dealer had replaced shoulder harness under recall. But My complaint was the seat belt buckle get stuck wont release. It seems to sit too close to seat I don't know why It was not replaced as an assembly. Does any record show seat belt buckle stuck issues and wont release.? Other than the Seat belt gets stuck wont release. My issue I think the buckle should be at a higher above lower seat to accommodate average size people.

I HAVE RECEIVED TWO RECALL NOTICES FOR DEFECTIVE DRIVER AND FRONT PASSENGER SEAT BELT FASTENERS (NHTSA RECALL 20V-378). THE NOTICES ARE DATED 29 AUG 2020 AND 9 DEC 2020. I HAVE CALLED THE LOCAL VOLVO DEALER REPEATEDLY TO SCHEDULE FOR COMPLETION OF THIS RECALL. EACH TIME THEY SAY THEY DO NOT HAVE THE PARTS AND APOLOGIZE. IN THE MEANWHILE, THE RISK OF THE SEAT BELT FAILING PERSISTS. MORE THAN SIX MONTHS HAVE PASSED SINCE THE INITIAL NOTICE WHICH I CONSIDER TO BE AN EXCESSIVE PERIOD OF TIME. WHAT CAN BE DONE TO EXPEDITE THE COMPLETION OF THIS RECALL? ANY ADVICE YOU CAN PROVIDE, OR ACTIONS YOU COULD TAKE WOULD BE APPRECIATED. THANK YOU FOR CONSIDERATION OF THIS REQUEST.
