When owners complained
A spike years after the car went on sale usually means a part wearing
out on schedule across the whole fleet — the kind of pattern no single
owner can see from inside their own car.

Recalls on the 2023 Chevrolet Corvette
A complaint is one owner's allegation. A recall is the point at which
the manufacturer or a regulator agreed the defect is real and dangerous
enough to fix for free — however old the car is.
Canada — Transport Canada
Canada runs its own recall programme, and its campaigns do not
always mirror the American ones.
Recall 20254291,801 units in Canada
Fuel System
Issue: On certain vehicles, fuel could spill in the fuel filler pocket when refueling. As a result, fuel could leak onto the left-side radiator and fan assembly. If this happens, the fuel could contact hot surfaces in the engine compartment. Safety Risk: A fuel leak can create the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: General Motors will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to install a shield to divert spilled fuel.
Recall 20243261,115 units in Canada
Seats And Restraints
Issue: Under certain conditions, the driver and/or passenger seat belt(s) could remain locked after use. If this happens, the driver and/or passenger may not be able to use the seat belt(s). Note: These parts that may have been installed on new vehicles or sold as an accessory part through General Motor dealerships. Safety Risk: Not wearing a seat belt can increase the risk of injury in a crash. Corrective Actions: General Motors will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the driver and/or passenger seat belt retractor(s).
Recall 2024060273,306 units in Canada
Lights And Instruments
Issue: On certain vehicles, a software problem could cause the lower beam headlamps not to turn on as it becomes dark outside if the multi-function switch is in the "OFF" or "PARKING LAMP" position. This could also cause the daytime running lamps (DRLs) to turn off when the vehicle is moving. As a result, the vehicles may not meet certain requirements of Canadian regulations. Safety Risk: Headlamps and/or DRLs that don't turn on could reduce visibility, make the vehicle less visible to others and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: General Motors will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the body control module (BCM)software.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Component/System: Fuel System – Fuel Filler / Left-Side Radiator and Cooling Fan Assembly (subject to NHTSA Recall 25V536). What happened: On June 15, 2024, I was refueling my 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 at a BP gas station in Phillipsburg, New Jersey. As I removed the fuel pump nozzle from the vehicle, a violent explosion occurred. I was immediately engulfed in a fireball. My clothing caught fire and was burning me. I jumped clear of the flames and extinguished the fire on my clothing. I saw that the vehicle remained fully engulfed in flames with the pump nozzle still lodged in the filler. I ran to the adjacent pump island where a station attendant was attempting but was unable to open a locked fire extinguisher cabinet. I broke the glass with both of my bare hands to remove the fire extinguisher. I sustained a severe laceration to my forehead that was approximately 3 inches long and required plastic surgery of over 50 stitches to close. I then ran to the car that was burning with approximately 10 foot flames and I used the fire extinguisher to put out the fire on the vehicle and pump. I then pulled the pump handle from the fuel filler opening and called the police. The police and fire department arrived and confirmed the fire was extinguished. The flames singed the hair on my head and legs. Component availability: Documentation including photographs, police report, and medical records are available. Safety risk: A fuel-fed explosion at an active gasoline pump created an extreme and immediate risk of death or serious injury to me the station attendants and others. Dealer/manufacturer confirmation: GM subsequently issued NHTSA Recall 25V536, acknowledging the defect — fuel spillage during refueling can contact the left-side radiator cooling fan, which remains active even with the ignition off, causing ignition. This recall directly confirms the defect that caused my incident. Insurance inspection: The police and Geico inspected the vehicle. No warnings at all.

On [XXX] I was driving my corvette in Atlantic City, New Jersey, which at that time I noticed smoke coming from the rear of the vehicle. I looked at my dash to see if any warning lights or check engine lights were on and nothing Indicate there was a problem. So I did continue to drive to get to a safe place where I can pull over and look at the engine. When I came up to the red light, the car next to me told me that my vehicle was on the fire. I was able to pull over on the side of road next to the hospital in Atlantic City. And then I got out of my car to nattempt to put out the fire myself as I noticed Melting Plastic that was on fire, was dripping all my tires to avoid the tires Catching on fire. I Remove the plastic that was on fire, causing burns to my hand. Then I called the fire to department to help me put out the fire. Once the fire was put out. I had it towed to the dealership they Told me to call my insurance company. Doing insurance process one of their technicians looked at the vehicle and determined that the rear Transmission case cracked from a Defective part in the transmission breaking, Which Cause the transmission fluid to pour out onto the exhaust system, Then the hot Transmission fluid ignite and set the rear of the car on fire. The insurance company liberty Mutual Refuse to fix the car due to mechanical malfunction. I then Contact General Motors and file a claim Which has been open for several months with zero repairs done to the vehicle. GM motors also sent a technician to look at the vehicle and came to the same conclusion but still has not attempted to fix the vehicle. This vehicle with a Defect like this is very unsafe. I could’ve been driving on the parkway and the vehicle locked up because the transmission broke and caused an shi accident or the fire could’ve been a lot worse could’ve been burnt to death. POWER TRAIN
While driving normally, I was in the middle of a busy highway/intersection when the vehicle suddenly lost power and came to a complete stop. The vehicle shut itself off without warning, leaving the Corvette disabled in the roadway and causing a complete blockage of the road/intersection. Traffic was actively traveling around me, creating a serious safety hazard and putting both myself and other motorists at risk of a collision. After the vehicle stopped, it would not restart. The instrument cluster displayed a theft-deterrent/immobilizer warning and a lock/security symbol, along with a message stating that there could be a problem with the theft-deterrent system and referring to Immobilizer Operation. The vehicle has full electrical power, but when attempting to start it, it only clicks and the engine does not crank or start. I placed the key fob in the designated backup location as instructed in the owner’s manual, but the vehicle still would not start. The exact failed component has not yet been diagnosed or confirmed. The vehicle is available for inspection. The sudden and unexpected loss of power while I was in the middle of a busy highway/intersection caused an immediate and serious safety concern because the vehicle became completely disabled and blocked the roadway.

WHEELS
At 23000 miles the right rear wheel cracked. I have a 2023 Corvette stingray HTC with the 20" wheels. The option code for this original GM wheel is Q8Q, "20" rear carbon flash painted aluminum wheels with machined edge". This is a common problem and has been reported by many corvette owners on several corvette forums. I do not track my car and have new tires. GM again ignores this safety item. I had the problem on my C7 and again on my C8. I did complete the GM refund paperwork for my C7 cracked rear rims, however, GM never did any refunds or tried to correct this safety issue.

POWER TRAIN
On 10/13 after refuling my 2023 Chevy Corvette. I was cruising on a freeway when the car started showing signs of staying in 5th gear. The rev limiter was going from 500 to 2500 rpm rhythmically at a cruising speed of 65mph. At this time, I noticed the loss of response from the gas pedal. The car was then placed in manual shifting mode so that i can attempt to regain population control and maintain the flow of traffic as this was a high crash area. Unfortunately, this attempt did not work and the dash cluster illuminated with the following alerts "rear axil system offline" "idle creep disabled," "service transmission" at this time. The gear indicator on the dash that shows the mode and gear, for example: D3 (drive 3rd gear), completely disappeared and the gas pedal completely went unresponsive. At this point i used the momentum of the car in motion to exit off of the freeway into a parking center. The vehicle proceeded to not respond in regards to going into park, reverse, or drive. The only thing that worked was the electronic parking brake. This was a very scary situation that, without my federal law enforcement driving training I may not have coasted safely out of traffic.

SUSPENSION
Shortly after purchasing the vehicle at the local Carson City,NV CHEVROLET dealer on 5/18/2025 my passenger started to hear a muffled “thumping noise” from the right front foot well? I am a disabled veteran USAF pilot with hearing loss and did not immediately hear it. The car had 29,129 miles on it when purchased and was a “certified vehicle” with some remaining original warranty as well as an extended warranty given its great condition(I was told!) After a few hundred miles of driving the sound became much louder and VERY noticeable when even on rough roads I discovered when removing the “frunk” trim to investigate a weak battery up front that an aluminum upper suspension right front shock mount was only being retained by a single bolt of the FOUR designed to secure it! Two had sheared the aluminum mount off and one bolt had broken off and was missing! The car has been in possession of the dealer since I had it towed in 6/27/2025 I have had NO RESPONSE from the dealer as to the cause.other than to indicate that it had been a rental car company acquisition No other external body/suspension/tire/fender damage was visible The dealer has confirmed the failure and has to my knowledge not repaired it although they did indicate that GM engineers were advised?

On 8/3/2025 I was at a stop light. It turned green. I went to go and my car would not go past first gear. Had to pull over. Waited turned the car off. Turned it back on and started driving, then I got an alert 545. Then my entire screen went blank only showing the alert. I called my dealership to explain. They said there were recalls on the 2023 and 2024 transmissions. That’s why I got the alert 545. But they said there was nothing they could do. I could bring it in for a test drive with a technician and if it pops up alert 545 then they would submit a ticket to GM. But the earliest to fix my corvette would be October. But also saying I would have to pay full price for everything. I bought my 2023 Corvette 1LT C8 stingray in 2022 and have only put 19,000 miles on it. I do not miss maintenance or anything. I’m not sure how to get GM to pay for my transmission and labor. It also would not let me acknowledge and click the button on the steering wheel. My display went off and I could not get it back on even turning the knob. This is incredibly dangerous for my safety. Transmission failure. Can’t see the speed I’m going.

Normal driving conditions while in Z-mode in moderate traffic, an audible bang was heard, however there was no immediate issue. A few minutes later the Check Engine Light, ABS, Traction Control and other lights appear on dash. Once lights appear, brakes fail and no longer slow the car down, the gas pedal only revved the car and could no longer accelerate. The car was still on and “driving”, I just didn’t have acceleration or brakes. I put my turn signal on and eventually was able to safely pull off the road and stop the vehicle utilizing Neutral and the Emergency Parking Brake. I was in genuine fear of crashing due to not having brakes or acceleration and felt that if the parking brake and/or neutral failed, then I’d have to crash to stop the vehicle. Not having brakes or acceleration put myself, my passenger, and every vehicle around me when it occurred at risk of injury. This has occurred twice in less than 1 year of ownership with this vehicle and I’ve taken it to two dealerships, Mike Reichenbach Chevrolet and Rick Hendrick Chevrolet. When it first occurred in December 2023, I was also in Z-Mode in light traffic, after it occurred, I drove slowly to the dealership with the hazard lights on. The second time I brought it to a dealership was after the first dealership couldn’t find the cause nor replicate the issue. The codes were cleared by the first dealership, but the car was still operating roughly and not as designed. The third time, in July 2024, it was brought to Rick Hendrick Chevrolet where the service invoice says “GOOD POSSIBILITY THE AFTERMARKET GPS UNIT PLUGGED INTO THE DLC PORT IS SHORTING OUT THE VEHICLE COMMUNICATION CIRCUITS AND CAUSING INTERMITTENT ELECTRICAL ISSUES. MAY BE ALSO CAUSING BATTERY DRAIN ISSUE.” The device referred to is called Bouncie, I got it AFTER this first occurred and the service team there is blaming both of these occurrences on the device. No repair was performed as the issue couldn’t be replicated.
