The contact owns a 2006 Chrysler 300. The contact stated that while driving at undisclosed speeds, the vehicle shut off unexpectedly. The contact stated that the vehicle sputtered and stalled after refueling. There was an abnormal rumbling sound coming from the vehicle. The contact waited for 30 minutes to restart the vehicle. The accelerator pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to respond as needed. While driving and making a turn, the vehicle stalled. There were unknown warning lights illuminated. The contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V002000 (Fuel System, Gasoline). The local dealer was contacted and informed the contact that the vehicle could not be repaired. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was unknown.

I have a 2010 Chrysler 300 and when I fill my tank up I take the handle out when it clicks I don’t keep filling because I know not to. My car will smell like someone poured gas into my backseat and if I roll the driver side window down for air it seems to get stronger for a little over 3 months now until it gets a quarter in a half below full. Now I don’t fill my car up all the way due to that and no one has figured it out yet. I have replaced lines and caps and now the fuel pump to find out none of it was the problem. I was followed home tonight to be told my car was pouring out gas from under the fuel pump area while I was driving. So I took a video of it pouring out under the driver back seat area and then I pulled off the back seat to find gas all on top of my brand new fuel pump. First I figured maybe the seal wasn’t on right but everything was put on correctly but yet I have no clue why there is gas everywhere especially seeing the pump is in correct. I can’t drive my car nor take my grandson anywhere with my car smelling like gas. Not understanding why my old and new fuel pump is backing up and I wouldn’t run my car on empty nor overfill. I have spent a bit of money into my car replacing things to continue to have the same problem. Major issue scared to ride in my car not knowing if it is going to catch on fire and that is my main transportation. By the way I changed my fuel pump because my car wouldn’t start yesterday and I didn’t hear the fuel pump turning on so tapped it a few times and it clicked on and it was whining so loud I parked it a few blocks away at a family members house scared to be stuck on the side of the road going home yesterday. Seatbelt lock box quit working as well I literally have to push it in 50 times to get it to click very irritating especially if you are in a hurry but that is way minor compared to my gas issue for the last few months Wish I could share video to show gas pouring out can’t see in pictures

I informed the dealership of ignition switch recall shortly after purchasing vehicle. The dealership stated " the VIN number shows no recalls". And that was it said there nothing showing up. I KNOW ignition switch is messed up because every time I would turn the car off I could still feel it running. I've had my car a year and now it will not crank due to ignition switch and now fuel air intake is also messing up and has caused cylinder 6 to miss fire. I have been without a vehicle for a month now and I need it fixed. When test driving the car, it would slow down as I was turning into a place of business and almost getting hit by another vehicle.

I have had issues with fueling the vehicle as when I fuel it I am only able to get a few cents in at a time before the gas pump clicks off or gas starts coming out of the fuel filler neck itself. At most I have been able to fill up my tank halfway but when I try to fill it a few cents worth of gas above halfway, I have engine stalling issues. To try to solve this issue I replaced all the external fuel vapor parts (charcoal cannister, EGR valve, PCV valve, purge solenoid, gas cap, and leak detection pump). The issue is clearly a problem with the internal components of the fuel tank itself. Chrysler has a X53 lifetime warranty for my type of vehicle but only for 19 gallon fuel tanks and my car has an 18 gallon tank. However, NHTSA investigation PE13-016 has shown that the defect (a swollen vent valve) affects both sizes of tanks. Chrysler said that the X53 lifetime warranty on the defective tank is VIN specific and would not cover my vehicle because it has a 18 gallon tank. Now my vehicle dashboard is saying that the gas cap is leaking but the gas cap was just replaced thus this further points to a pressure issue within the tank. Chrysler dealerships will not help me and contacting FCA resulted in them just telling me to contact a dealer to check if the warranty is available for me.

I bought my car, Chrysler 300 2021 at the Hemet CA Dealership in 2021. Hemet Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram. The car presented with several issues including, difficulty starting, engine misfires, stalling, and decreased fuel efficiency. The low fuel warning light on my car's dashboard would not come on when gas was low at all, until it left me stranded in the freeway far away from home and a dealership. I had to take it in to closest car service center to have the fuel pump replaced. These fuel pumps should last for 100,000 miles or more. My car had only 69,101 miles. The gas level on the dashboard was stuck at the level when I added gas the last time, again not indicating that it needed more gas. I do not see any recalls issued on FUEL PUMP for my cars year, make and model. But a lot of people have reported the same issues. Can someone respond to this email? I want Chrysler to understand that this is not acceptable. This issue should be part of a recall. 2006 Chrysler 300 Touring 3.5L V6 engine. Car has intermittent stall at slow speeds or at complete stop. Sometimes feels like it stumbles, other times it dies suddenly and unable to tell the engine shut down. I have to put car in park and completely switch the ignition fully off and turn back on to start position. When it stalls while rolling, I have to brake and bring car to full stop, with no power steering, and go through the same start procedure. No trouble codes are generated, and no check engine light indicator illuminated. Car usually starts right up, but sometimes I have to keep cranking starter, stumbles to catch as if starving for fuel. A/C was on first two times but also happens with A/C off. Research online reveals an open recall for the fuel tank on the 300C model with a 5.7L or 6.4L engine. Problems described on the 300C model are nearly identical to what my 300 Touring is experiencing. PCM replacement does not correct problem. Some noticed it happening only with a full tank. Stopgap measure is to only fill no more than 3/4 tank. I am currently testing this idea. The safety issue is significant and twofold; three times I have had one other adult and two children in the car. While stalled at a major intersection traffic signal trying to restart the engine, other vehicles approached from the rear at 50-55 MPH. A rear end collision with children in the back seat would likely be fatal. Secondly, during a stall event while the car is moving, it is extremely difficult to steer the vehicle to a safe place, and braking takes significant pedal pressure once power assist bleeds off. This is a serious concern and obvious collision hazard, as I may not be able to stop or steer to a safe location or avoid a hazard. I had the car at the dealer for over three weeks in July 2024 and they were unable to duplicate the issue. Their answer was to drive car until it happens more frequently. This is unacceptable. No other solution or repair was provided.

When gas tank is filled with more that 3/4 of a tank of gas, fumes are very strong within the vehicle and around it. This continues until the gas tank has less than 3/4 of a tank of gas. There is a recall for the evap canister on my year, make and model...but my VIN is not included.

While driving my child to school a short while ago today, my car accelerated on its own and would not brake. I was attempting to stop for an upcoming red light. The car accelerated without me pressing the gas and the brakes went completely out. I was able to avoid a collision. This will be my 3rd time having this [XXX] Plastic oil filter/cooler housing replaced and this will be 2nd time having done less than a 2yr time-frame... But this time; after getting the oil changed at Walmart today, my car was about to catch on fire from majority of the oil was running done on the passenger side of the car where the transmission sits and burning off of the Hot [XXX] Catalytic Converter! It's [XXX] shame that Chrysler/Mopar had more than enough complaints about this well known Catastrophic Issue and won't take any Accountability for it... That's why Dorman [XXX] and a few more companies had at least stepped up to the plate and created an better version, of the oil filter cooler housing. Not only is it better but is also all aluminum and doesn't warp or become brittle under extreme conditions from atmospheric temperatures nor engine heat! [XXX] which eventually manifest as severe oil and coolant leaks. The number of complaints regarding the Pentastar V6 oil filter housing and cooler assembly is staggering. See them here, at [XXX] . There have been so many complaints – with the OE replacements even, that Chrysler has discontinued the manufacturing of the Pentastar oil filter housing and cooler assembly. Even more surprising is that Chrysler has known about this problem for a long time and has never issued a recall. RECENTLY, LAST WEEK, THE CAR CUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF TURNING INTO A DRIVE WAY NO WARNING LIGHT OR SIGN OF DISTRESS. I ATTEMPTED TO START IT AND IT JUST CLICKED LIKE IT WAS OUT OF GAS BUT WASNT. THE (P) FOR PARKING KEPT BLINKING BECAUSE IT WOULD NOT GO IN PARK COMPLETELY SO IT NEVER STARTED . I HAD TO USE THE PARKING BRAKE TO PREVENT IT FROM ROLLING. I TOWED IT TO A AUTO REPAIR SHOP AND IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THERE WAS AN ELECTRICAL FAULT WITH THE FUEL TANK. SO ALMOST 1,OOO$ LATER IT WAS REPLACED AND ITS RUNNING HOWEVER THE TRANSMISSION IS NOT QUITE RIGHT. IM CONCERNED ABOUT THE FUEL PUMP ISSUE BECAUSE IT WAS SUDDEN WITH NO TYPE OF WARNING LIGHT ETC. Main Fuel Pump and accompanied electrical connect. The fuel pump and electrical wiring harness is available upon request. My safety was at risk due to a faulty electrical connection inside the fuel tank. My vehicle made a loud hmming sound at a stop sign, upon continuing forward the vehicle shut off randomly. Upon inspection, the fuel was not sending to the engine. We bought a new fuel pump and replaced at the side of the road. When inspecting the OEM fuel pump and accompanied electrical connection, we noticed over heated wiring and melts plastic inside the fuel tank on the underside of the fuel pump, as well as burnt connections on the outside of the fuel tank on the tip side of the fuel pump. We have pictures to support. No warning signs, signals, or lights were present at the time of failure. When purchasing new fuel pump, there were no instructions for replacement of electrical connections. The only indication we found as to what was happening was through public forums online, showing the electrical wiring was faulty and needed replacing with the alternative wiring harness due to wiring (hot wire, b+) being located too close to the grounding wiring causing it to burn amd/or arch creating a problem with which could cause fire and explosion. No information was readily available nor have we received any information on potential catastrophic injury or failure.
