SEAT BELTS

I have a 2010 Chrysler 300 and when I fill my tank up I take the handle out when it clicks I don’t keep filling because I know not to. My car will smell like someone poured gas into my backseat and if I roll the driver side window down for air it seems to get stronger for a little over 3 months now until it gets a quarter in a half below full. Now I don’t fill my car up all the way due to that and no one has figured it out yet. I have replaced lines and caps and now the fuel pump to find out none of it was the problem. I was followed home tonight to be told my car was pouring out gas from under the fuel pump area while I was driving. So I took a video of it pouring out under the driver back seat area and then I pulled off the back seat to find gas all on top of my brand new fuel pump. First I figured maybe the seal wasn’t on right but everything was put on correctly but yet I have no clue why there is gas everywhere especially seeing the pump is in correct. I can’t drive my car nor take my grandson anywhere with my car smelling like gas. Not understanding why my old and new fuel pump is backing up and I wouldn’t run my car on empty nor overfill. I have spent a bit of money into my car replacing things to continue to have the same problem. Major issue scared to ride in my car not knowing if it is going to catch on fire and that is my main transportation. By the way I changed my fuel pump because my car wouldn’t start yesterday and I didn’t hear the fuel pump turning on so tapped it a few times and it clicked on and it was whining so loud I parked it a few blocks away at a family members house scared to be stuck on the side of the road going home yesterday. Seatbelt lock box quit working as well I literally have to push it in 50 times to get it to click very irritating especially if you are in a hurry but that is way minor compared to my gas issue for the last few months Wish I could share video to show gas pouring out can’t see in pictures

About 2 months ago the passenger seatbelt in my vehicle just tore out of nowhere. The seam seemed to unravel and it completely broke. Took it to get repaired had some issue but my complaint today is to help save someone from this or maybe others may have had same issue. The seatbelt was poorly made or defective. It could have gone bad but nobody was injured and it took them a fight to fix,it, and never received an apology.

2007 Chrysler 300 Stafford, VA Crash 4 injured 2 killed

This vehicle was involved in a tragic car accident. The passengers both suffered deep laceration to the skull and other vital parts of the body. There was a recall notice that was sent to the owner 4 months after the fatal accident had occurred. Based on police inspection of the vehicle, they’ve determined there was mechanical failure to the vehicle which can be seen through a police bodycam at the police impound lot. The front passenger suffered a 6 inch deep cut to the skull according to the medical examiner’s report. The child in the rear also suffered a deep laceration to the ankle and foot despite being restrained in a child seat. Driver suffered a graze cut to the side of his head and survived the tragic accident after recovering from a coma he stated that the brakes did not function properly when depressed moments prior to the accident. Data recorder from the vehicle shows the driver was depressing the brake pedal the entirety of the time up to the moment of impact. This vehicle was t-boned by an suv, and this accident should have been survivable, however the passenger seat looks to be torn out of its brackets according to the pictures from the accident scene. I am requesting this vehicle be investigated as there are many vehicles similar to this one that could have dangerous defects which were outlined in the safety recall notice that was mailed to the owner. The safety recall did mention to stop driving this vehicle immediately, however this notice did not arrive in a timely manner to where anyone could have taken action immediately. I am requesting that this vehicle be inspected for not only the safety of the community it’s but for identifying why two people lost their lives due to a manufacture failure that could have been prevented if notification was sent in a timely manner. Thank you and I look forward to following up with someone regarding this immediate and dangerous concern. I have the original letters and when they were mailed to the owner.

-Took Vehicle to Service Center, they told me to call 800-992-1997 and ask for authorization for replacement. - Its at the service center for Larry Miller Chrysler, so I am not sure why they are not calling to get approvals. The seatbelt should never have unraveled or torn, they keep saying my warranty just expired, but this is a factory issue, no seatbelt should be tearing every and I have had the car for 3 years now. My concern has nothing to do with the safety recall, this is a separate issue. My seatbelt on the driver side has began unraveling, Ive been driving since 16 teen and never saw this before. I went to buckle my seatbelt about a week agao from 10/14/2024 and it would not pull through and I notice it was actually torn in half to the middle mark of the canvas belt. This is a FYI, i have taken it to dealership, they are looking it over. They did without looking just say to me out the blue I have never heard of this you must have cut it. ( That was insulting, why would I, [XXX] just cut my seatbelt)? The Larry Miller Dealership, service center is a joke. 2007 Chrysler 300 West Warwick, RI

Seatbelts have failed, malfunctioned on separate occasions throughout the years. Inspection of my vehicle is welcome for study on the seatbelts. On arrival to destinations, seatbelt or seatbelts will lock, and unable to release from the the button-press mechanism. Myself or passenger will then need to climb out of the belt from the bottom or top of restraint. Another note for safety hazards is the struggle to get back into the contraption isn’t time worthy- traveling from destinations sitting over top of seatbelts is an issue- a life or death situation. As there has not been physical altercations yet- I am concerned of the seatbelts locking and the mechanism button to unleash seatbelts fail, putting safety at risk for all passengers. The vehicle typically passes inspection, as for the malfunctions don’t happen while being inspected. There are no warnings whatsoever as to when the button click mechanism spontaneously locks into place.
