Horn stopped working unexpectedly. Took it to my mechanic who pulled the horn for replacement. The one in the truck had literally melted, luckily not causing a fire.

I am reporting a safety-related transmission problem I experienced with my 2022 Ford F-150 equipped with the 10R80 automatic transmission. While driving normally, the transmission suddenly did not engage when I turned a corner when in 2nd gear it disengaged and I coasted to side of road safely good thing there was no traffic. I then noticed that the transmission would slip (not hard just slightly 1st-5th gears). This has happened a few times especially when I first start moving. This is creating a potentially dangerous situation because the truck did not respond as expected when I needed predictable acceleration or propulsion. I believe this incident may be related to the known 10R80 CDF clutch-cylinder/sleeve problem. Ford technical information identifies axial movement of the CDF sleeve that can cause hydraulic-circuit leaks and harsh or delayed engagement and shifting. This result in slipping, RPM flares, delayed engagement, unexpected gear changes, harsh downshifts, lurching, or loss of propulsion. This is a safety concern, not merely a transmission quality or reliability issue. Unexpected loss of propulsion or unpredictable shifting while merging, accelerating into traffic, crossing an intersection, turning, or traveling at highway speed can create a collision hazard. Because I personally experienced this unexpected transmission event, I request that NHTSA investigate the 10R80 CDF clutch-cylinder sleeve condition in Fords f150s. Please review Fords warranty claims, dealer repair records, transmission replacements, consumer complaints and field failure data to determine whether this is a safety defect requiring a recall. I believe owners should not have to wait for a potentially dangerous transmission failure before this known condition is addressed. Vehicle in drive under normal daily driving conditions and vehicle suddenly lost power and stopped. Unable to restart vehicle and shifter is stuck in drive and does not shift to park. Similar to recall 22S43. According to dealership, they thought the issue occurred due to towing and assumed it was a electronic issue with the vehicle shifter. Prior to this incident, there was a strange type of kick back in the shifter but it never kicked out of gear though it seemed like it might. There were also warning dings that did not have any kind of message on the dash - it wasn't clear if this was tied to the shifter.

The vehicle is currently at Kayser Automotive Group located at 2303 West Beltline Hwy Madison, WI 53713, their direct line is [XXX], since the diagnoses of the corrosion of the DCN. SYSTEMS & COMPONENTS THAT FAILED: A faulty or clogged engine bay drain plug failed to divert water, causing significant water accumulation that routed into the interior cabin. This water intrusion directly soaked interior carpeting and exposed the Data Communication Network (DCN) connector and Body Control Module (BCM) wiring harness to moisture, resulting in severe pin corrosion and electrical communication faults. The vehicle and all affected components are fully available for inspection upon request. SAFETY RISK: The DCN connector and Body Control Module control critical vehicle operations, exterior lighting, instrument clusters, and safety/driver-assistance systems. Water corrosion on these communication buses causes unpredictable, uncommanded electrical failures and module communication dropouts while operating the vehicle at speed, creating a severe crash hazard to occupants and surrounding traffic. DEALER CONFIRMATION & INSPECTIONS: The issue was physically inspected and confirmed by an authorized Ford dealership service department, Kayser Automotive Group located at 2303 West Beltline Hwy Madison, WI 53713. Dealership technicians verified the water accumulation path, identified the faulty/clogged drain pathway, and documented physical corrosion on the DCN wiring connector. A Technical Assistance Center (TAC) case was requested to escalate the defect to Ford Corporate. WARNING LAMPS & PRIOR SYMPTOMS: Initial symptoms appeared as heavily saturated interior floor carpets and standing water pooling near the cowl/dash area. Shortly thereafter, intermittent electrical glitches, warning lamps on the instrument cluster, and network communication Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) appeared as the corrosion worsened. The computer system malfunctioned; the front panel warning was "Stop vehicle and check regen. brakes". I put my car in drive and when I hit the gas pedal the car reversed instead of going forward. I got it towed to the dealer at Piazza Hyundai in Limerick PA. The service did not provide me with an explanation about the warning and showed little concerns to the issues, I was given a month time frame for looking at my car. I consider this a safety issue as the car did not respond appropriately to D and R, I suspect a computer failure.

In April 2026 the recall on this truck was done to correct a fault for the Trailer Disconnect. I hooked up my travel trailer for the 1st time here in June and the false warning still came on 5 times during my trip. The software update that was done is not solving the problem. Warning light comes on, says trailer disconnected while the trailer is still connected and all connections are plugged in.

Transmission kept slipping out on the freeway. Led to a near accident. Then ended up broken down on a highway while towing a trailer. Transmission couldn’t find gear for the next serval times we tried to place in gear. Then on the third time it went into gear and started driving again only to slip out and lead to another breakdown on the highway. Still had to drive it into dealership in its unsafe condition.

My truck because of the transmission and it's "powertrain" faults; puts itself in low power mode. I can be driving fine, stop for a red light, to turn a corner or before pulling into oncoming traffic leaving a parking lot etc and without warning, no power. It won't go over 5-10 miles an hour. You have to let off the gas and give gas sometimes more than once to get the truck to finally pick up and go. I have almost been hit countless times because I suddenly couldn't get out of the way of oncoming traffic. The dealer has confirmd to me a few times that this is a transmission issue that is sending my powerboost into low power mode. I believe he said the tech that drove it said it was dangerous; but a known issue. Started a few years ago and doesn't happen all the time. Occurs sporadically and lately more and more frequently.

The wheel end hub bolt in the rear axle has broken which is what the recall is for. However, this happened 2 months ago and the dealership is telling me as well as the recall letter I received on August 25 from Ford, is saying it can be months before they get the part to fix it. They have had my truck since June 2025. I am making payments on the truck and can't drive it. The dealer has been accomading me with another truck but it is a base model truck, not equivalent to what I purchased.

I was driving down the road going around 40 mph. No vehicles around me at all and no trees overhead when my sunroof suddenly exploded. No impact whatsoever occurred prior to the explosion, I just heard a loud boom, and glass started raining onto my sunroof liner. I leased this vehicle as new a couple of months ago. The rear view camera was not working. The dealership in West Branch Michigan assured me that they would fix it. Subsequent visits and followup with dealership have been unsuccessful in the fix. During this time I almost ran over my grand daughter when backing up with no rear view camera. Very dangerous. Also any components relying on the rear view camera are also disabled. I beleive Ford has a concern in fixing this problem. It could result in a serious accident with pedistrian.

Day time running lamps on the side of the headlight have burnt out. First time it was the passenger side that died, had it replaced under warranty. then a few month later after my warranty was up, the driver side has now died as well. The fact I have had this truck 2 and a half year and both have failed is unacceptable. I see every single F150 on the road with THE EXACT SAME ISSUE! This isn't a fluke or bad luck on my vehicle. From my research online, tons of others are complaining about it too. The dealership wanted $2400.00 to replace it, with what is likely another faulty light that would have the same issue in a few years. This is a hazard to myself and others because my vehicle isn't lit up like it should be so that I am visible to others on the road. Also I have had 4 or 5 water leaks in the brief time of owning this truck that ford has blamed on me. Water gets in and collects on the passenger side floorboard under the carpet. I have been without my vehicle multiple times while they attempted to get a specialist to find the issue. Had to pay for my own rental vehicle for a week because they " dont give out loaners" even when you are under warranty.

On numerous occasions, with increasing frequency, the truck has suddenly not responded to pressing the throttle pedal. I have not figured out the exact situation that makes it happen. From the best of my knowledge I am not sure exactly what induces the issue. I have noticed it several times where the truck goes from a mid range RPM (consistent with normal driving conditions) then after the brake or natural deceleration occurs and you go to reengage the throttle pedal the truck does not respond. There is a very extended delay to any speed increases. This has been extremely dangerous when making left turns through traffic as the truck does not respond and leaves you in harms way. It has been happening several times a week now and I have read numerous reports of the same thing on forums. I see no warning lights or pop ups that can support a large issue.

NHTSA states to file a complaint if there has been no remedy in reference to a safety recall in a timely manner. As of to date there is still an open recall on my truck and Ford has stated the recall is incomplete due to no remedy yet available. This recall has been in place since 12/22/23. My truck did have a broken hub bolt and I believe the dealership replaced the passenger rear axle hub. The dealership told me that this is only a temporary repair until Ford comes up with a remedy.

My cluster gauge is turning off while I’m driving and turning on after by itself. It happened too many times maybe 20 times in last 2 months. When this happens I’m loosing all my settings I have done before. While it’s off I can’t see any information including my speed and distracting me. I share this issue on platforms and too many people having same issue. I found too many video on YouTube about exact same problem. It happens on the f150 trucks with digital cluster gauge produced after 2020 and even brand new ones having same issue still problem is ongoing. There is a problem with the heating controls. The temperature will be set at 72 and is stable for awhile, even days, then will spontaneously heat until it's unbearably hot. This is a huge distraction while driving to having to keep messing with the controls. Safety issue! After numerous complaints to Ford's service department with no results as the technicians cannot duplicate issue and there are no codes. Purchased a thermal imaging camera: 97.8 dash vents, 55.1 at knees and 80 degrees at feet (driver's side). This is not a situation where the heating system is just trying to bring the cab up to temperature as this occurs when the truck has already been on the road for over an hour at a comfortable temperature and then it just erratically starts spewing out unbearable temperatures. I have thermal imaging pictures as high as 153 degrees Fahrenheit while the set temperature is 70. Something definitely wrong. I am submitting this complaint as I am tired of turning the truck in for repairs. Maybe if enough people say something, Ford will do something.

When at a signal light with the brake pushed, we are experiencing an issue where the whole vehicle will unexpectedly lurch forward as if hit from behind after coming to a stop. This could possibly result in the truck hitting the vehicle in front of you if you are in tight traffic. Our local dealer inspected but could not find a solution.
