The skid plate came off. It’s fabric screwed in by metal so it rips off over time. I know and have seen many other Ford owners who have experienced this same problem. It’s a hazard and a concern that will keep occurring if you replace it with the same fabric and it’s costly to replace with a metal skid plate. It’s a manufacturing problem that should be recalled.

I had to replace my transmission entirely at my own expense after it ultimately failed. Prior to the failure, I had already filed a complaint because the transmission was exhibiting the well-documented symptoms associated with the 10R80, including harsh shifting and unpredictable operation. These issues created legitimate safety concerns while driving, as I could not rely on the vehicle to shift properly or respond consistently in traffic. A vehicle of this age should not require a complete transmission replacement due to what appears to be a design-related issue. Ford has acknowledged these transmission concerns in multiple Technical Service Bulletins addressing harsh shifting, delayed engagement, and related issues with the 10R80 transmission. However, despite recognizing these recurring conditions, Ford has not extended warranty coverage or issued a recall for affected vehicles. Additionally, Ford revised the CDF clutch cylinder/drum design in later-production transmissions, indicating that the original design was updated after these issues became apparent. Given the widespread nature of these failures and the subsequent engineering changes, I believe owners should not bear the full financial burden of repairing what appears to be a known defect. The financial impact extended far beyond the cost of the repair itself. Because my truck was out of service for more than six weeks awaiting replacement, I was forced to find alternative transportation while continuing to operate my own company. This caused significant disruption to my business and daily responsibilities, all due to a transmission failure that appears consistent with a known issue affecting the 10R80.

Vehicle is having erratic downshifting at highway speeds causing it to drop gears and brake harshly then violently accelerate. The transmission was already replaced by the dealer in 2025. Dealer is reporting they cannot get the vehicle to duplicate the issue but this has posed a great safety risk of injury for my family.

I was driving and slowing down for a stop sign and the engine shut off by itself while still moving at appx 10-15mph. The display had several warning lights appear, and the message "Auto Start Stop, Shift to P, Then Restart Engine". I have the Auto Start Stop disabled on my vehicle, so there was no reason for my engine to shut off while decelerating. I searched online for potential causes and discovered that there are numerous incidents of this happening (engine shutting off while moving) to drivers that have deactivated the auto start stop on their vehicles. Drivers side door does not unlock in cold temperatures (physical key, fob button, keypad, and handle lock do not work). To unlock I have to enter through the passenger side door and use the interior handle. Seems to be an ongoing issue and there are "recalls/TSB" for the same issue happening on 2015-2019, 2021-22 models but not 2020. "The major frozen door latch recalls (such as 17S33) officially covered 2015-2019 F-150s and other Super Duty trucks." Reddit forums are full of others complaining of the same issues. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? - Driver side door handle. Yes How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? - Must enter through the passenger side door to unlock the vehicle. In an emergency I would not be able to enter my vehicle quickly. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? No. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? no.

I was driving to work at 5am on Friday, and my back window blew out for no reason. Sounded like a gun shot. Knocked me right off the road. Noone was near me and nothing hit it. The power window box looks burnt, but when I took it to the dealer, they said no without even going out to look at it, but from looking at all of the complaints there have been multiple complaints with this. Please help me with this situation, I have the premium package warranty, but it doesn't cover it. I paid over 4,000 dollars for the premium package, Thank you [XXX] [XXX] 6105132864 INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

While driving at normal speed, the vehicle suddenly began producing heavy white smoke from the exhaust, the engine started to idle roughly, and a check-engine light came on. There was no oil-pressure warning, no low-oil message, and no “stop safely” alert of any kind. The only warning was emissions-related. After seeing the smoke, the vehicle was parked and later driven only to a dealer for inspection. A dealer inspected the vehicle and confirmed that an internal seal in one of the turbochargers failed, causing the engine to pump all of its oil directly into the exhaust system. This resulted in complete oil loss and catastrophic engine damage due to oil starvation. The dealer confirmed the failure and determined that the issue originated from the turbocharger assembly and not from misuse or neglect. The failure occurred suddenly and without any oil-pressure warning to alert the driver. The safety concern is that a turbocharger failure caused total loss of engine oil without triggering any oil-pressure warning or driver alert, creating a risk of sudden engine failure, loss of power, or engine seizure while driving. The lack of oil-pressure warning before or during the event was confirmed by the dealer’s inspection.

Ford doesn’t want the fix the problem because my vin number is not on the list. Yet, there have been recalls for 2020 Ford F-150s related to the emissions system, including a recall for the 2.7L EcoBoost engine's catalytic converters, which requires a Powertrain Control Module (PCM) reprogramming, and another related to a loose battery cable that could cause stalling, fire, and other malfunctions. Catalytic converter recall (24E12) Who is affected: 2018–2020 F-150 models with the 2.7L EcoBoost engine. : The recall addresses inaccuracies in the catalytic converters' effectiveness. The primary fix is reprogramming the PCM to more accurately detect issues, which might trigger a check engine light if the converter is faulty.

The transmission in my 2020 Ford F-150 (10-speed automatic) has exhibited ongoing and dangerous shifting issues. While driving at normal speeds, the transmission frequently shifts hard between gears, surges, or delays engagement, especially between 2nd and 4th gear. On multiple occasions, the vehicle has jerked violently when slowing to a stop or accelerating from a red light. There have also been sudden RPM spikes and power loss without warning. The issue began around July 2025 [125,000 miles] and has continued. The safety of myself and others has been at risk due to the vehicle lunging forward at unpredictable times. This behavior has made it unsafe to merge into traffic or stop smoothly. No warning lamps have appeared, but the problem is reproducible. I believe this may be related to ongoing class actions regarding Ford’s 10R80 transmission. The issue has not been fully addressed by Ford, despite similar complaints from other owners.

The power running boards are malfunctioning continuously, I have fallen out of the driver side twice and now have injury to my right shoulder trying to stop myself using the arm rest. Also, will start to deploy and stop mid-way. I will attach a photo taken today.

There is a flaw in the design of the 2020 F150 and specifically the 5.0L V8 Engine. I have kept up to date on all maintenance, no visible oil spils and engine is consuming/burning significant amounts of oil. I've been told by numerous dealerships/mechanics that there is nothing that they can do and to try and join all of the class action lawsuits. I spent 50k on a vehicle that isn't even making it thru the life of the loan..... WHY DO I HAVE TO DO A CLASS ACTION. THIS SHOULD BE CONSUMER PROTECTION.

Exhaust manifold leak due to factory turbo mounting and bolts issue. Due to improper amount of bolts in rear of exhaust manifold where ford designed the turbochargers to mount to there is warping of the exhaust manifold and the mounting bolts break off due to heating and cooling with the turbochargers weight. Very common issue with the f150, causing exhaust leaks and possible carbon monoxide to leak into cabin. This is a dangerous design flaw that owners should not have to pay out of pocket to repair due to fords poor engine design flaw. Ford should have to recall the engine manifolds

While driving the vehicle going approximately 35 mph in heavy traffic the vehicle shifted to neutral without driver input as evident by +8000 rpms (bottomed out) and swift deceleration. No warning lights or indicators. No response when driver input to acceleration pedal. Vehicle would not shift into gear. After breaking to approx 15 mph Vehicle shifted VERY roughly w/no accelerator response and return to normal rpms. After waiting in neutral on the side for a minute accelerator response returned. hard and delayed shifting remained. Vehicle is currently being serviced by a ford dealer in Florida who relays no warning or trouble codes found - but recommended a transmission rebuild reference black fluid w/o leaks. Fluid was initially a quart and a half low. Transmission has an extended warranty and is getting replaced. 10r80 10 spd transmission with the EXACT same issue for the recent recall of a different year/ transmission model # by ford. The listed vehicle uses approximately 1 quart of oil every 500 miles, which is a grossly large consumption of oil. This same issue occurred with two other vehicles in our fleet with a similar make and model. One vehicle corrected itself over time. The other uses approximately 3 quarts of oil every 5000 miles. This issue has been confirmed and unable to be fixed by our city's vehicle shop since we obtained the vehicle in January of 2020. Over consumption of oil could cause the oil to run dry while in use, possibly causing the engine to overheat, permanent engine damage, engine seizure, etc.

The described vehicle uses approximately 3 quarts of oil every 5000 miles, which is an over consumption of oil. This same issue occurred in another vehicle that we own which has the same year, make and model, but the issue appears to have fixed itself over time in the other vehicle. This issue is still a problem with this vehicle. This issue has been confirmed and unable to be fixed by our city's vehicle shop since we obtained the vehicle in February of 2020. This over consumption issue has been present since the vehicle's purchase. Over consumption of oil could cause oil to run dry while in use, possibly causing the engine to overheat, permanent engine damage, engine seizure, etc.
