This vehicle 2016 ford F150 is known to have shorting issues. From literally all wiring harnesses. I had a small fire in my truck due to this issue, caused melting of the ribbon cable in my seat heater control module, which is a known issue from Ford. I have shorting in my turn signal switch (no wipers). Is that safe? I am a research scientist and engineer, I can tell you now it is not safe. If i need to prove it, I can do so with ease and write the necessary literature. If I cant use my AC sometimes, the windows fog, then i cant use the wipers to unfog them, how is this not a visibility issue? Not to mention all the shorts. I have a 40 gallon fuel tank, if any shorts get near it, is that going to be a fun experience for me? Please give Ford a penalty, the average owner of this truck pays thousands a year in repairs. I paid $17,800.00 in 2025 to repair this piece of shit. And it still has major issues. This is something ford needs to address, i want my wiring to be replaced, i bought a new engine, what if i cant use it especailly with the 3 year warranty bc the wiring consistently shorts and fails. unacceptable for a truck that's sticker price is $80k. This is a major problem, I will file claims until im afforded a response

Almost all functions connected to the steering column quit working. I do not have working turn signals, high beams or wipers, unless the wipers are on high. None of the functions on the steering wheel work. It seems like a safety issue to not have functioning turn signals or properly finctioning wipers and high beams. No lamps or warnings.

When using the window wipers, they become inoperable. Stopping in the middle of the window, pausing when moving, or completely stopping and unable to get them to start moving until they begin to move on their own. This has occurred multiple times and at multiple different speeds of operation for the wipers. This was a previous recall issued by Ford that has been completed on the vehicle yet the same result is occurring.

The panoramic moonroof glass shattered while the vehicle was parked and stationary in my driveway. There was no known impact from another object and no occupants were in the vehicle at the time of the incident. I had the moonroof sunshade closed when the glass shattered. The upper surface of the sunshade contained the shattered glass fragments, including both large and small pieces. Upon inspection, I did not observe any foreign object resting on the sunshade, inside the vehicle, or on the ground surrounding the truck that would indicate an object had struck the moonroof. Based on my observations, I am unaware of any external event that caused the glass to shatter. Vehicle mileage was approximately 54,500 miles.

While parked in my driveway, the rear window exploded/shattered. I had local Ford rep come look at it, take pictures and submit to Ford for warranty coverage. The vehicle was purchased in January 2025 and has 28,888 miles - so still under warranty. Ford has denied warranty coverage. I believe this to be a safety issue and am reporting it.

A week ago, the top interior strip that holds the sliding glass window in place randomly fell off. We taped the hole until we could find someone who could fix the track. Then, a week later the non-sliding portion of the back rear window exploded while parked. There was no sort of impact, the window just shattered sending pieces of glass into my kids car seats.

The contact stated that while driving the vehicle at an undisclosed speed, the AC was being used at 70% power when suddenly, the AC no longer gave cool air and the airflow was weak. The contact stated this happens when he drives the vehicle longer than a 4 hour period. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it could not be diagnosed due to no being able to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The rear window basically has 3 parts. Driver side, center sliding section, and passenger side. Only the driver side section defrost. According to online forums specifically for Ford trucks, this is a common issue. Ford’s Special Service Message (SSM) 48490 does reference this as a known issue.

Rear camera is has failed. Safety is at risk, when reversing this full size truck due to lack of visibility. Rear camera failed in early 2025. Rear camera was examined on 6/17/28 at JONES FORD in Shallotte, NC. I was notified that camera failed and needed to be replaced $730. I could not afford and camera and safety are an ongoing issue to this date. WHY HAVE MILLIONS OF FORD VEHICLES BEEN RECALLED/REPLACED FOR THIS SAME ISSUE, BUT NOT MY VEHICLE??

Issue 1: During snow conditions, the windshield wiper arms have detached from the linkage pivot on two separate occasions while in operation. This creates an immediate loss of visibility and a significant safety hazard while driving. In both instances, the detached wiper arm had to be retrieved and manually reinstalled. On one occasion, the arm could not be reinstalled in the field, leaving the vehicle without functional wipers. The component should be available for inspection upon request. The first occurrence happened on Jan 3, 2025. The most recent was Feb 2026. Issue 2: The windshield wipers are currently inoperable. When activated, the wipers move slightly upward (approximately 4–6 inches from the bottom of the windshield), then stall and begin to stutter/twitch repeatedly before stopping completely. There is no visible external damage to the linkage. This condition renders the wipers ineffective and unusable. The issue has occurred during active snowfall, making the vehicle unsafe to operate due to loss of visibility. No prior warning lights or messages were observed before the failure. The issue began suddenly, and was not a slow failure. It also occurred the day after a software update, which I noted because of the changed radio and alarm settings in the vehicle. I believe this was April 14th or 15th. By proximity of the app update, this raises the concern of the issue being related to the app. Based on research, there are multiple current and prior recalls involving similar Ford truck wiper system failures related to linkage lubrication, motor sealing, and sensor faults. The described failures appear to be functionally related and represent a significant safety concern.

Certain Ford vehicles (e.g., my 2019 Ford F150 Platinum) have a front camera with a pressurized washer. When the windshield wiper fluid spray is operated, the camera washer sprays washer fluid from the reservoir onto the camera as well as the windshield. However, the camera spray system has a check-valve that leaks, draining the windshield washer fluid reservoir. When a driver needs to clean the windshield using the spray, the reservoir is empty, resulting in an uncleanable windshield whilst driving. This can be very dangerous when, for example, in snowy conditions, a big-rig splashes dirt laden snow on a windshield. The wipers activate, smearing the windshield with dirt, sand, salt etc., and snow that can block the entire windshield. One can think of many similar scenarios where a driver's vision/road visibility can be compromised in this manner. Ford is aware of this issue and has published a technical service bulletin, 20-2267, that identifies which Ford models are affected and how the repair is undertaken. However, as the grill and several other front-end body components must be removed to affect the repair it is very expensive; most owners will not have this repair done. Note that there is no indication that the check valve has leaked and drained the reservoir, leaving the driver to find out at a critical time there is no way to clean the windshield while driving.

The contact owns a 2018 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the sunroof slides became inoperable. There was an abnormal rattling sound coming from the vehicle. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer annually, where it was diagnosed and determined that the slides were fractured. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure reoccurred. The manufacturer was contacted and opened a case. The failure mileage was approximately 12,000.

Around the 1st of February 2026 the weather had turned cold around 6 degrees Fahrenheit and I had just had my vehicle inspected in January so I know everything was fine then. My wife and I had driven to her office about 2 miles from our home and I of course had the heat on and defrost on. We went into the office to clean because that a weekly job for us usually under an hour. When we came out my windshield was cracked on the passenger side starting at the bottom going straight up about 8” long. The weather stayed cold and a few days later it cracked more and then more and then more. It’s moving over towards the drivers side horizontally about eye level. There is no rock strike where the crack started, it seems to me that when heat was applied to the windshield something expanded or contracted or flexed while we were inside the office because it was cracked when we came out to leave. I haven’t taken it to a Ford dealership to have it looked at or filed an insurance claim. It’s been about two months now I need to get it fixed before the whole windshield collapses into my lap. I realize the safety issue with a cracked windshield and it could cause me and others on the road to get hurt. I’ve only driven it to doctors appointments and to pick up medication at the store a mile away. I’ve never had a vehicle that has had the windshield crack due to clod weather when it was heated up and then cooled back down. Either the glass was manufactured incorrectly or it was installed incorrectly or the framing expanded or contracted causing it to bind the glass. If you could please look into this for me it would be greatly appreciated.
