I had purchased these tires P225/50R17 for my son‘s car in 2022. They have an 85,000 mile tread life warranty in April of this year. He had a blowout on the left rear tire where the tread separated from the tire and in late July this year is preparing for a 3500 mile trip as I was inspecting his car before his trip. I noticed the tire on the right rear looked to be defective. It looks like the tread where it meet the sidewall is separating from the tire on the inside with a tear about 8” long where the metal is showing. Two tires out of 4 losing their tread is disturbing and a concerning safety issue with these tires, see the Photos I have supplied.

These are 80,000 mile tires and this occurred at 35,500 miles. Purchase from Costco and when we went back they basically told us they would only warranty 20% of tire even though the warranty should have been 50%.

235/45R18, the tires wander on grooved highways (groove wander). They throw the car left and right. This is a safety concern as it creates dangerous instability. Looks like the tire tread is incompatible with some road surfaces (grooved highways) and creates a safety hazard (car violently swerving at highway speeds). Wheel balancing and alignment was done to eliminate these as potential contributors. The store refuses to accept the tires for a return.

My child and I were traveling. We were getting off an exit to put some gas.That exit was a bit Icy with snow but when we saw it was to late to stop. On that exit their was a huge pot hole impossible to see and for me to stop in time, my speed was 35 mph and slowing down on the exit. When i went down the exit and hit the pot hole it sounded horrible my son started to panic and i pulled over right away. My tire pressure light turn on as soon as we hit the pot hole. I was very lucky that a man saw everything and came to help. He has stated that the same thing had happened to his wife the day before. My original tire was a Nexen 235/40R19 Dot UAM3 CMBR 1921.

I purchased 4 x Michelin Sport A/S Plus 225/50R17's in December of 2017 and have driven those set of tires 30,000 miles on a 45,000 mile tire. My car started wobbling and so I checked the tire and found severe wear in the INSIDE wall/top of both of my rear tires. I had to purchase two new tires because I felt it was not safe to drive.
