On 6/19/2026, I had four new tires (Goodyear Eagle Touring, size 235/40R19 96V) and a four-wheel alignment installed at an authorized Honda dealership. The post-service alignment printout showed the right front camber and left front caster remained out of specification both before and after the alignment was performed. I left the dealership at approximately 4:30 PM. At approximately 6:20 PM, while driving westbound on Interstate 10 at highway speed, the left front tire, one of the four tires installed roughly two hours earlier, suddenly blew out with no prior warning light or indication. Notably, the right front tire had triggered a TPMS warning earlier that day, which is what prompted the same-day tire replacement, but it was the left front, which gave no warning at all, that failed. The vehicle was safely maneuvered to the shoulder to avoid a collision with other vehicles. California Highway Patrol responded and later moved the failed tire after it was struck by passing vehicles, creating a hazard for other drivers. The tire itself was not recoverable due to the danger of retrieving debris from live traffic lanes, though photos were taken of the tire and wheel immediately following the incident. The vehicle's onboard tire repair kit could not be used because the vehicle is subject to open NHTSA recall 26V-366, confirmed incomplete on this vehicle. A flatbed tow was required since this model carries no spare tire. I am requesting investigation into whether an installation error (mounting, bead seating, valve stem) or a manufacturing defect contributed to this failure, given the short time between installation and failure.

The suspected failed component is on 3-4 General Altimax GT45 tires. After approximately 15,000 miles of use and regular tire rotations every 5,000 miles, a steering wheel vibration developed immediately following a tire rotation. Multiple tire balances and a road-force balance did not identify a problem or correct the condition. Multiple, independent mechanics advised that the vibration may be caused by an internal tire belt defect, such as a shifted belt or belt separation. After the tires were rotated again, the vibration changed in character and became worse, further suggesting that the condition is related to a tire rather than the vehicle's suspension or alignment. The tires are still available for inspection upon request. The vehicle develops a noticeable steering wheel vibration at highway speeds between approximately 60 and 70 mph. The vibration affects steering feel and driver confidence while operating the vehicle at normal highway speeds. If caused by an internal tire defect, there is concern that the condition could worsen and potentially affect vehicle control or lead to tire failure. Yes, the problem has been reproduced. The vibration has been repeatedly reproduced during normal driving and has been evaluated by multiple independent service centers. The tires were rebalanced multiple times, including road-force balancing, without resolving the vibration. Multiple mechanics advised that the condition appears consistent with a possible internal tire belt defect. After an additional tire rotation, the vibration changed and became more severe, which mechanics indicated is consistent with a tire-related problem moving to a different position on the vehicle. The tires have been inspected by 4 independent service centers and tire technicians. The manufacturer, Continental/General Tire, has not physically inspected the tires. No inspection was performed by police or insurance representatives. No warning lamps or vehicle messages were displayed.

The contact owns a 2020 Honda Accord. The contact stated that upon intermittent starts of the vehicle, several, various warning messages would appear on the instrument panel. Warning messages such as tire pressure monitor, brake system problem, brake hose system,etc would all appear on the instrument panel and would remain on the instrument panel until the system would be cleared by the dealer. The vehicle had been taken to the dealer on multiple occasions to address the failure; however, the dealer could not diagnose the failure. The vehicle was then taken to Honda Of Tomball(22727 Tomball Pkwy, Tomball, TX 77375) where they diagnosed the vehicle with a defective head gasket. The contact refuted the diagnostic and took the vehicle back to the original dealer where they agreed with the contact that there was not an issue with the head gasket. The contact stated that both the battery, coil pack and spark plugs were replaced; however, the failure would return within weeks after repair. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.

The contact stated while driving the vehicle she noticed multiple waring lights on the dash, ABS waring, traction control, tire pressure lights blinks, service engine light and steering wheel light with exclamation point. The contact stated there is a trembling feeling with applying the brakes, feels like the tires are not balanced. Hankook Kinergy GT - 225/50R17 94V Original Equipment (OE) on 2024 Honda Accord EX/L During regular and routine service by the dealer, tires were rotated every six months. Abnormal wear was noted at 5,800 miles with original 10/32" tread depth down to 7/32" on two tires. At 17,100 miles (18 months), abnormal inside edge wear was noted by the dealer and an alignment performed. A "Caution" was noted on the Multi-Point Inspection for both rear tires at this time. We started noticing a vibration and sound seemingly coming from the right rear tire associated with tire rotational speed while on a long road trip. A Honda dealer (Fargo, ND) did a cursory inspection and declared the tires in need of replacement due to tire wear. Upon inspection at 23,976 miles (25 months), our home dealer identified tire separation on the right rear noted cords were starting to show. The service document states: "The rear tires inside treads are starting to show cords and separate. I found that the right rear tire's inside tread was worn down to the cords in spots and that the tire is starting to separate. The front and left rear tires are not as bad, but it is close to being in the same condition that the right rear tire is in. I recommend that the customer get a set of 4 new tires and after installing the tires, performing an alignment." Note: This car has never been driven on particularly rough or potholed roads.

Temperature A Traction B Max Load 670kg, 1477lbs DOT B3 0A 08EX 3221 All 4 tires, front driver, front passenger, rear passenger and rear driver show signs of failing or premature chunking of tread wear. The tires have 29,200 miles are driven on newer paved roads to work. The tires are filled with Nitrogen. The car is well maintained by local Honda Dealership. The tires were inspected at the local Honda dealership and the repair advisor, NOT THE REPAIR TECH said looks like normal wear a tear. Advisor falsely claimed high speed driving is the cause. This vehicle is driven 8 miles total per day to work speed limit MAX 50mph, contacted Michelin, not helpful to resolve issue. No Accident, all 4 tires show premature failure in tread wear.

I purchased 4 new tires from Braman Honda on 2/2023. I drive the car daily but I also have a take home vehicle for work. On 12/4/25 and 12/5 my son, who is on military leave took the car from Boynton beach to Miami for an appointment. when he returned, he showed me a picture of the dash showing the low tire pressure light on. Up until now, there was no warning of any issues with the tires. I thought that there may be a nail in the tire but to my shock, the front driver side tire was missing chunks. The following week I had the car towed from my house to Braman Honda. My service advisor called to inform me that all 4 tires had tears and cracks in the sidewalls and must be replaced. Me and/or my son could have been hurt or killed while driving the car with the tires in this condition. My car is only serviced at Honda and I keep up with all tire rotations. On 2/21/25 a multi point vehicle inspection was performed and I declined the multi point inspection and tire rotation on 6/14/25 due to a time crunch. The warranty expired after 2 years so I had to finance 4 new tires. BF Goodrich will only file a claim if you replace with their tire brand. I do not trust their brand and even although they supplied the batch of dry rotted tires which was installed on my car, Honda nor BF Goodrich will help with the cost. I've read many similar cases like mine about these tires. BFGoodrich claims that the cracks are due to road hazards.
