On February 8, 2026, I attempted to use the windshield washer fluid, but no fluid came out onto the windshield. Instead, it forcefully sprayed the front camera. On 01/08/2026, while driving approximately 55 mph in Scottsdale, Arizona, the sunroof glass on my 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee suddenly fractured and shattered upward without any known external impact. Ambient temperature was approximately 40-45°F and cabin heat was set to approximately 80°F. There was no rock strike, chip, crater, or starburst impact point observed. The fracture appears to originate in the center of the sunroof panel. Vehicle mileage was approximately 21,924 miles at the time. No crash occurred, but the sudden glass failure created a safety hazard and driver distraction at highway speed and required immediate repair. The vehicle was inspected at Chapman Dodge Scottsdale (Repair Order 7444177). The area service representative denied warranty coverage and attributed it to “impact,” stating the glass can bow upward due to cabin pressure from HVAC, despite no identifiable impact point being documented. I am reporting this as a potential safety defect involving unexpected sunroof glass failure.

I am reporting a safety defect involving the Uconnect touchscreen in my Jeep Grand Cherokee. Due to screen delamination, the display can lag or freezes, including the rearview camera image. When the vehicle is shifted into reverse, the camera images can be delayed, frozen, or not updating in real time. This results in the screen showing an inaccurate view of what is actually behind the vehicle, creating a serious safety hazard. Objects, pedestrians, or vehicles can enter the rear path after the image freezes but will not appear on the display. This defect creates a false sense of safety and undermines the purpose of the federally required rear visibility system. The failure occurs intermittently without warning, making the rearview camera unreliable when it is needed most. This is a known defect affecting Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles equipped with Uconnect displays, not normal wear and tear. The manufacturer has not provided an adequate recall or permanent fix. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this issue as a systemic safety defect that increases the risk of backover collisions.

The malfunction caused multiple vehicle systems to activate or fail simultaneously, including windshield wipers, warning indicators, and the transmission shift interlock. The vehicle has been at a repair facility since the incident and remains available for inspection upon request. Nothing has been removed/discarded w/o documentation. 2. The malfunction created a serious safety risk while the vehicle was in operation. All warning lights illuminated at once, the windshield wipers activated without driver input and would not turn off, and the vehicle experienced difficulty shifting and limited drivability. The unpredictable activation and loss of control over critical systems impaired the driver’s ability to safely operate the vehicle and created a risk of becoming stranded or disabled in traffic, posing a danger to both the driver and other road users. 3. Yes. The vehicle was taken immediately to an independent service center following the incident and has remained there due to the severity of the malfunction. The service center confirmed abnormal electrical behavior and initiated further diagnostic evaluation. 4. The vehicle has been inspected by an independent service center. The manufacturer has not yet conducted a direct inspection. No police inspection was performed, as no collision occurred. 5. No warning symptoms were observed prior to the failure. The malfunction occurred suddenly and without warning on August 8. At the time of the incident, all warning lights illuminated simultaneously, and abnormal vehicle behavior began immediately.

Unsafe, Defective Vehicle & Refusal to Remedy Vehicle: 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe Overlander VIN: [XXX] Purchase Date: [XXX] Dealership: Route 18 Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram, East Brunswick, NJ I purchased this vehicle new in June 2023. From the first weeks, it has displayed severe, life-threatening defects that make it unsafe and undriveable. Despite presenting it to seven authorized Jeep service stations and contacting both the dealership and Jeep/Stellantis repeatedly, no effective repair, replacement, or buyback has been provided. The SUV has just 1,000 miles yet has been out of service for over two years, resulting in substantial financial loss and hardship. Safety Defects HVAC/Defrost Failure: After 20–30 miles, the A/C stops cooling and blows only hot air. The blower often shuts off completely, fogging the windshield and reducing visibility to zero. Jeep has acknowledged this defect under NHTSA Recall 24V111 (Manufacturer Code 04B), but no remedy has been made available. HUD Mirror Glare: The Head-Up Display mirror is misaligned and reflects light from headlights, streetlights, and sunlight across the windshield, producing blinding glare and making safe driving impossible. Failed Remedy Attempts Seven Jeep service centers refused long test drives, logging less than 5 miles even though the HVAC issue occurs after 30–50 miles. Route 18 staff admitted seeing the HUD glare but told me to “tint the windshield.” Management was dismissive, and Jeep/Stellantis corporate has ignored all follow-ups for over two years. Impact and Remedy Requested I have paid tens of thousands in loans, insurance, towing, storage, and rentals for a vehicle I cannot safely drive. Windshield wipes are malfunctioning. They come on and function by themselves without the windshield wipers being activated. Purchased the car on 5/26/2025 and issue started on 6/1/25. Took the car to the dealership on 6/2/25 to check the problem out. They couldn’t mimic the problem. Car has been back and forth to the dealership 3x since 6/2/25 trying to figure out what the issue is.

The 2018 grand Cherokee has issues with mother board and electrical ghosts. 1st it was headlights and dome lights. they would flicker. i had to change the front lights 2x in a year. i thought this was odd. never did this with any car before. then I was driving home from work during rush hour and it started to rain. started the wipers front and back. the back wiper started and went halfway and got stuck. what happen? the front wipers went on for several revolutions (say 10-20 ) then stopped. started again. then stopped again. the rain intensity grew. Now the -wipers would only work when turned in opposite direction (the manual 1 pass move). this happened as i was trying to get home and stuck bumper to bumper on [XXX] . on this dangerous highway in middle of now a torrential downpour the front wipers now decided it wouldn't work AT ALL. i couldn't see anything and veered off to the shoulder thank god - waiting for rain to stop and then safely proceeded home. the next day the wipers worked. no check engine or anything. this goes on for a week or so with no issue. then out of nowhere the driver seat decides it has a mind of its own and pushes me all the way to the steering column. it wouldn't return when pushing the back button. i had to drive like that for my trip and then it magically went back upon restart. i take to dealer. pump motors bad on front and back. i say not sure your correct and explain. motor changed on front. not fixed. ok we think its the BCM. changed not fixed. finally the PDM was changed and wow it worked. 2 weeks at dealer and this shows that this issue with the control module is certainly risking peoples safety. i hope Jeep does the right thing and prevents a serious catastrophic event. read on the jeep electric issues and my vehicle had a previous "corrected" recall for Electrical Cruise Control. My windshield has small bubbles in the laminate layer between the glass. It is only noticeable in the early morning and sunset when the sun shines directly through the glass windshield. The safety concern is at night when it is raining. When an oncoming car headlights come through the glass it is impossible to see the road. I have to slow down considerably. Hopefully the road is straight at this point because I cannot see the road. At first I thought my windshield was just dirty. After cleaning the windshield many times the issue did not go away.

I had a recall on the dash of my Jeep due to the leather wrinkling.I had very slight wrinkling, so I honored the recall and took it to the dealership. They replaced the leather which seemed to fix the problem, well WRONG, they put the leather down with no adhesive to keep it in place. Long story short, it began having some puckering in the middle,now the whole dash looks like a wrinkled bed sheet and its totally lifted along the bottom of the windshield, which has caused my defrost vent to lift out of place and resricts airflow. This resricts my visibility when the defrost cannot blow accurately. I took it back to the dealership to show them,and to tell them that it's worse than before I brought it to them, and if I had've known this would happen, I would have left it alone! I showed them that they Obviously didn't put adhesive under the leather, the just laid and tucked it! They said they couldn't repair it. I took it to get it assessed and as soon as he saw it, he said "This was OBVIOUSLY installed Wrong!"

The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that there was coolant intrusion into the engine, and that the left cylinder head and the A/C condenser needed to be replaced. The independent mechanic made the contact aware of an unknown recall; however, the VIN was not included. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 73,000.

The contact stated that the sound was like a gun shot. In addition, the contact stated that the glass pieces entered the interior of the vehicle. The contact stated that a piece of the fractured glass was lodged in her right eye. The contact stated that the failure occurred while on vacation and traveling out of state. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the contact was informed that the repair was not covered under warranty. The vehicle was being repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and agreed to assist with a nominal part of the cost of the repair. The failure mileage was approximately 63,500.

The 2011-2021 Jeep WK2 Grand Cherokees all have a safety issue when driven in colder climates in snowy, or icy conditions. Where the wipers are parked on the windshield is below the level of the dashboard, so any heat that is produced by the windshield defroster does not warm the glass where the wipers are parked. This leads to the wipers freezing to the windshield, and cannot be operated to clear the windshield. I don't know why this hasn't been a recall issue in the past, as it effects every WK2 in those years. The solution would be to remove the windshield, and add a heating element to the inside of the glass, similar to the rear window, which happens to have a heating element underneath the rear wiper. There are other vehicles that do have heating elements under the front wipers, namely the Jeep KL Cherokee models. So, FCA knew this was a problem, and decided to ignore it, as they have done many other issues.
