The Evaporator AC Core/Expansion valve was faulty, which is VERY common in these vehicles. The dealership fixed it (still has a noise so not 100% sure if it was fixed or if it's another faulty one). Leaking air conditioner refrigerant is hazardous to both human health and the environment. When these things leak it releases toxic chemicals into the air and atmosphere. The dealership confirmed the issue and fixed it which took 5 days to do and a TON of hours which cost me over $3000. I have complained to Jeep/Chrysler and they will do nothing. It should be a recall in these vehicles and the consumer should not have to pay for bad/faulty parts. My vehicle was inspected by two dealerships to get second opinions. I was told by the dealerships they are doing these repairs more than they would like to say. No warnings just a annoying sound when the AC was on and I would lose Freon constantly and my AC would go warm. I'm asking for something to be done. Thank you.

I am the original owner / a loyal Jeep owner and have taken excellent care of the vehicle. Right now, the leather on my upper dashboard is completely bubbling, shrinking, and pulling away from the defroster vents. This is creating a serious visibility issue due to glare, and it prevents the defroster from blowing air effectively, which I feel is a major safety hazard. I am fully aware that the original warranty and the limited X81 extension program have technically expired. However, this issue began only a few months ago and because this is a well-documented manufacturing defect specific to the leather dashboards on 2011-2014 Overlands and Summits, I am requesting corporate goodwill assistance to cover the cost of the replacement. Can we please open a customer assistance case to review this issue.

As I was merging onto the highway my sunroof combusted without any impact that would cause it. Upon inspection there was no item that hit the glass, the glass shattered entirely across the entire pane and broke apart ( not just spiderwebbing, there was glass falling into the sun roof visor)

Problem was Oil Filter housing made of plastic. It was cracked and no warning light that oil had leaked out. Car SUDDENLY DECELERATED as I was merging into traffic on freeway causing vehicles coming up behind to brake rapidly including a semi truck which had been 200 yards back. I rolled onto shoulder with warning lights activated. Pure luck it was not a major accident. Had it fixed at local mechanic in area and was told it is common problem on several makes of vehicles. Mechanic replaced with aluminum one. Gave me a reduced price of $1200.

At the end of March 2026, the hybrid battery was replaced due to a recall by the dealership. After this, several software updates done, including the BCM, per technician's notes. In May 2026, my vehicle was found bricked in my driveway, unable to jump start, giving warnings regarding the dual charging system. After being towed to the dealership, they found my 12v battery was dead and stated that it needed to be replaced, which was done, with no further testing per technician's notes. Six weeks later, in July 2026, my vehicle was found bricked in my driveway again, giving the same warnings on the dashboard as it did in May. Once towed to the dealership again, with further parasitic testing, they found a "TSB about improper BCM software causing the 12v systems battery to be drained, as well as the kombi flickering which was also experienced while vehicle was in shop. TSB stated the BCM needs to be flashed." (taken from the technician's notes). As the dealership explained it to me, my vehicle failed to receive an update for the BCM, causing this glitch to drain my 12v battery. Due to my vehicle exceeding the 36,000-mile warranty, the dealership forced me to pay for the work done in both May and July, in addition to paying for a rental car while my vehicle was in the shop, even though the cause of this problem originated from the manufacturer, and was no cause of mine.

I am reporting a potential safety issue involving my 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited X. The vehicle developed a condition in which it would not stay running. I brought the vehicle to an authorized Jeep dealership, Valley Motor City in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, for a scheduled service appointment on May 19, 2026. The dealership diagnosed and completed approximately $5,200 in repairs. On June 11, 2026, I was informed that the repairs had been completed, but the vehicle still would not stay running. The vehicle has remained at the dealership while technicians have continued attempting to determine the cause. After I escalated the matter to Jeep/Stellantis Customer Care, I was advised that the dealership is attempting to obtain additional diagnostic information and that an engine replacement may now be under consideration. I was also advised that the dealership is expected to complete higher-level technical review procedures and may request assistance from a Stellantis technical specialist if the cause still cannot be determined. I was later advised that the dealership was expected to provide follow-up information to Jeep/Stellantis by Tuesday, July 14, 2026. On the evening of July 14, 2026, the Jeep/Stellantis case manager advised me that the dealership had not followed up with her, and that she would follow up with the dealership and escalate the matter to her manager. The vehicle remains unresolved after 2 months of diagnosis and repair efforts. I am reporting this because a vehicle that stalls, shuts off, or will not remain running may present a safety risk, particularly if the condition occurs during operation. I do not know the root cause and do not want to speculate. I am requesting that this report be recorded as a potential safety issue involving a 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited X.

I've took it to jeep to figure it out and fix it. i got it back and while on the highway it did it again causing me to almost get hit by several cars. I was on the highway doing the speed limit and no brake lights also when it happens. I took it back to jeep and they still have no clue but my jeep is to dangerous to drive period. There are not warning signs when it happens.

Odometer fraud: On [XXX], I purchased 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee VIN [XXX] from Clay Cooley Dallas Dodge as "new." Federal Odometer Disclosure Statement and Retail Installment Contract stated 10 miles. Actual odometer at delivery: 124 miles after dealer disclosed dead battery replacement delayed delivery. No corrected Federal Odometer Disclosure Statement was provided as required by 49 USC 32705. Vehicle delivered was non-conforming to advertised characteristics: 1. Dealer digital showroom pictured 2026 Grand Cherokee with captain's chairs, 3rd row seating, chrome accents, silver wheels. I contracted based on those images. 2. Delivered: bench seat, no 3rd row, black painted 20" wheels. Salesman Cesar Ortiz confirmed "third row" by phone 6/16/2026 while viewing same images. 3. Delivery included Used Car Buyer's Guide and AS-IS disclosure prohibited on new vehicle sales under Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act 15 USC 2301, plus VTR-271 Limited Power of Attorney improper for new retail under TX Transp Code 501.147. 4. No executed Retail Installment Contract, Odometer Disclosure Statement, or Buyer's Guide provided at [XXX] delivery as required by TILA 15 USC 1638(b). Our sunroof completely shattered for no reason. We were not hit by or with anything, we did not hit any objects, it just spontaneously broke. Thankfully our interior shade was pulled, otherwise we would have been showered with shards of glass. It is available for inspection. Our safety was put at risk as we were on a freeway, in traffic & the loud sound it made scared us, it sounded like a very close gun shot. We had to pull over to see what happened. We took it to the Jeep dealer where we bought it & they told us they have never seen this happen before & there's nothing they can do. There were absolutely no symptoms prior to this happening. It was not overly hot or cold outside. (73 degrees & dry).

I was caught driving in a hailstorm when hail impacted and broke the panoramic sunroof of my vehicle. I understand that hail can break automotive glass and that the sunroof is constructed from safety glass. My concern is not that the glass broke, but how it shattered. When the sunroof failed, it fragmented into extremely fine particles and powdered glass. The glass was so fine that it became embedded in the vehicle's seats and interior surfaces. It was in my hair and clothing. Fortunately, the interior cloth sunshade was partially closed at the time and contained much of the debris. Had the shade been open, the glass particles would have fallen directly into the cabin while I was driving. My concern is that the shattered glass created a large volume of fine particulate debris that could have been dispersed throughout the cabin and potentially into occupants' eyes, skin, and airways. This is particularly concerning when considering the possibility of children or other passengers seated beneath the sunroof at the time of failure. Given how fine the resulting particles were, I question whether additional protective measures, such as a laminated layer or other containment system, should be required to prevent shattered glass from entering the passenger compartment when a panoramic sunroof fails. I believe this issue warrants review because the manner in which the glass disintegrated may present a safety risk beyond the initial breakage itself.

While driving my 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4x2, the driver side Active Head Restraint deployed without any collision, rear impact, crash, or other triggering event. There was a sudden loud bang directly behind my head, which startled me and created an immediate safety distraction while the vehicle was in motion. I did not know what had happened at the time. The head restraint remains deployed/open and cannot be reset. The vehicle was not involved in a crash, there was no rear impact, and there was no airbag deployment. FCA/Stellantis has issued an X88 Active Head Restraint warranty extension for certain Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles involving inadvertent deployment of the front Active Head Restraint where it cannot be reset due to internal damage. My vehicle appears to have experienced the same failure mode, but Jeep/Stellantis has advised that my VIN does not qualify for X88 coverage, apparently because the vehicle was built after the selected warranty extension population. My vehicle build date is January 2018, with MDH 011623. I am filing this complaint because this was a safety related head restraint failure that occurred while driving without a collision. The sudden deployment caused a loud impact immediately behind my head and created a dangerous distraction. I am concerned that vehicles outside the current X88 warranty population may still be experiencing the same inadvertent Active Head Restraint failure. The vehicle was factory ordered and delivered in February 2018, which may explain the later January 2018 build date, but it is still a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee and appears to have experienced the same inadvertent Active Head Restraint failure mode described in FCA’s X88 warranty extension.

My daughter that is [XXX], her in the passenger seat, me driving were traveling down a street. I slowed to enter a turn lane going maybe 10 mph and heard a loud bang. I said "what was that noise." I glanced at my daughter she looked dazed and said "I don't know but something slammed into the back of my head." I pulled in where we were going and looked to find the head rest was popped open behind her head. There were no bumps, no impacts and not even high speed. This headrest mechanism literally deployed for no reason slamming at high speed into the back of her head and neck. I stopped called Mopar and made a complaint because it was right at 5pm and dealers were closing. She was slurring speech, dazed and repeating herself. Took her to the urgent care that sent me to the ER out of concern. They told me she may need head and neck images. The doctors and staff were so confused as to what I was even talking about. I showed them photos so they could see the situation. I was in the ER with her for 5 hours. She has a concussion. THESE HEADRESTS ARE DANGEROUS AND JUST INJURED A MINOR. WHAT DO YOU MEAN WE ARE NOT CALLING FOR RECALL. THIS ISNT JUST ABOUT EQUIPMENT REPLACEMENT. THIS INJURY COULD HAVE BEEN WORSE AND THERE IS OBVIOUSLY SOMETHING FLAWED HERE.
