At 613 miles, this 2025 Land Rover Range Rover SE experienced simultaneous brake fluid loss from the rear right wheel area, partial loss of engine power, and multiple warning lights including “Stability Control Not Available” and “Restricted Performance.” The vehicle required emergency flatbed towing. DFW Land Rover Dealer inspection identified damage at two points on the brake line near the rear right wheel. The damage shows longitudinal abrasion scoring along the line consistent with chafing against a vehicle component during normal operation, not external impact. The underbody shield in the same area shows no deformation or penetration that would be expected from an external object. The vehicle has been driven only in normal urban conditions with no incidents, off-road use, or known impacts. The dealership has attributed the damage to external influence despite no supporting physical evidence. Warranty coverage has been denied pending escalation to Land Rover North America. My 2015 Land Rover Range Rover underwent recall-related suspension repair work at Land Rover Orlando. Shortly after the repair, I began hearing an extremely loud noise from the front of the vehicle. The noise was severe enough that I informed the dealership I was afraid to drive the vehicle. I sent videos of the noise to the dealership. After reviewing the videos, dealership personnel advised that the issue was likely related to the air strut assembly or control arm bushings. The vehicle was later inspected by an independent mechanic. During that inspection, it was discovered that the front brake caliper bracket mounting bolts were not properly secured. On the driver's side, mounting bolts were reportedly missing. On the passenger side, mounting bolts were found extremely loose and could be removed by hand. The mechanic documented the condition with photographs and video evidence. The brake caliper bracket is a critical brake system component, and I believe this condition created a significant safety risk. Had the bracket separated or shifted while driving, it could have resulted in loss of braking performance, vehicle damage, loss of vehicle control, a crash, serious injury, or death. The abnormal noise began shortly after the recall repair. I reported the issue to the dealership at that time. The condition was later confirmed by an independent mechanic. The vehicle is currently undergoing repair. I am submitting this complaint because the condition involved a critical brake component and occurred following recall-related service work.

Despite repeated repairs by authorized dealerships, the underlying defect has not been resolved. The failure pattern suggests a systemic mechanical defect involving engine performance and cooling system integrity rather than isolated maintenance issues. The primary safety concern is sudden loss of propulsion while driving at highway speeds, which has occurred on more than one occasion. 2023 Land Rover Range Rover Austin, TX

**Vehicle Information:** 2023 Range Rover (purchased used on December 19, 2025 with approximately 21,000 miles) **Component/System Involved:** Rear braking system (rear brake pads and rotors). The vehicle has experienced repeated premature wear of the rear brakes. The component is available for inspection upon request. **Description of the Failure/Malfunction:** At approximately 25,000 miles, I was informed by the servicing dealership, Land Rover Austin, that the rear brakes required replacement. At that time, I had only driven the vehicle approximately 3,355 miles since purchase. I subsequently learned that the rear brakes had already been replaced once before at approximately 12,000 miles. This indicates two rear brake replacements within 25,000 miles, which is significantly below expected brake life. The dealership service department indicated that this may be due to how the rear braking system engages during turning, particularly in city driving conditions, leading to accelerated wear. This is happening in the newer models, is what I was told. **Safety Risk:** Premature and accelerated brake wear creates a potential safety hazard, including reduced braking performance and increased stopping distance if the condition is not identified and addressed promptly. 2025 Land Rover Range Rover Encino, CA

While traveling from Los Angeles, California to Tucson, Arizona with one passenger, the vehicle experienced a sudden and dangerous loss of multiple critical systems while driving at highway speed. Earlier during the trip the vehicle stopped in Quartzsite, Arizona. When attempting to re-enter the vehicle, the key initially did not unlock the vehicle. The driver contacted Range Rover roadside assistance and asked for guidance, but no explanation or solution was provided. After several attempts the vehicle eventually unlocked and started. Approximately one hour later, while driving eastbound on Interstate 10 at highway speed after dark, a yellow battery warning light appeared on the dashboard. Shortly afterward a red battery warning and a red triangle warning appeared. Within minutes of these warnings, the vehicle suddenly lost propulsion and the transmission shifted into neutral. Immediately afterward, the vehicle lost electrical power and the dashboard and exterior lights went dark. At the same time, steering assistance and brake assist were lost, making it extremely difficult to control the vehicle. The driver had difficulty steering the vehicle and slowing it safely while traveling on a busy highway with heavy truck traffic behind. Because steering assistance and brake assist were lost, the driver had very limited ability to maneuver the vehicle safely. The driver was able to slowly reduce speed and move across several lanes of traffic to the right shoulder of the highway, stopping near Exit 109 (Sun Valley Parkway) on Interstate 10. The vehicle stopped approximately 300 feet before the exit ramp. Because the vehicle had lost electrical power and exterior lighting, the vehicle was difficult for other drivers to see in the dark. Several large trucks passed close to the stopped vehicle. The driver used a mobile phone light to signal the vehicle’s presence and reduce the risk of being struck. The vehicle brake pad warning light went on before 15K miles. The dealership and manufacturer have indicated that the design of the 2023 long wheel base model causes the OEM brakes pads to wear through at an accelerated rate. They are replacing them with a different model though nor covering the replacement under warranty.

rear brakes were worn only after 13 mths of driving a brand new range rover and that was driving slow and never pushing the car. Out of the 20+ vehicles i've owned in my lifetime i've never seen a vehicle requiring new brake pads at 10-15k miles. Basically, we need to replace the brake pads every year with the annual service which is unacceptable and clearly faulty.

Steering and breaking While driving at speeds 55-60 mph my car would shake when i applied the breaks to slow down. My safety and the safety of other were put at risk daily as i drove my car. Yes, I drove my car into Land rover in Richfield, MN and told the service advisor the problem i was having. With the last 30 days every time while driving at speeds of 55- 60 mph as i would apply the breaks to slow down the steering and car would begin to shake. Yes, I took my car into Land Rover in Richfield, MN to be inspected. There were no warning lights on my dashboard to indicate that there we any problems with my car.

2024 Land Rover Range Rover Phoenix, AZ Crash 1 injured

This four month old 2024 Range Rover LWB with Bosch brakes experienced a sudden and complete loss of braking capabilities. When the driver went to brake and while turning into a parking stall, the brake pedal was not in its usual position and did not work. It was stuck to or close to the floor mat and was unresponsive. The brake was not at the normal position springing back after having previously compressed it. The braking system failure happened at a low speed after a series of turns. The driver was unable to stop the vehicle and it crashed. The lack of braking capability occurred for multiple seconds while going into a parking space until the vehicle crashed. The driver attempted emergency measures when the vehicle’s brakes were unresponsive in a desperate attempt to do anything to stop the vehicle. That included potentially pushing the park button in the center console. After multiple seconds of the brakes not working and the driver attempting to take any measure to stop the vehicle and the vehicle extending onto a sidewalk past the parking lot, the driver accidentally hit the accelerator. The car was already off the roadway about to crash prior to the acceleration. The acceleration sped up the crash a second later. The car was totaled. There are multiple data and video evidence. The are numerous emails describing the incident in greater detail that can be provided. Some of the evidence was destroyed according to JLR as JLR states there is a designed pyrotechnic explosion that occurs post crash to dislodge the brake pedal to avoid entrapment. That does not explain the loss of braking system and unresponsiveness of the brake pedal prior to the crash. Range Rover and Progressive are conducting independent inspections. Range Rover claims that the brake system was never engaged and that the crash was user error. We believe Range Rover is attempting to whitewash the incident to avoid identifying a problem, costly repairs, claims, a recall, or a combination.

the brakes failed to function while I drove. I almost hit the car in front of me. the brake booster was not functioning. the engine check light appeared suddenly, but with that other messages too, and also that was safe to continue to drive with caution. Just to mention two more messages that appeared on the display were: Stability control not available and Hill descent Control not available. I had to press extremely hard to break the car and of course I had to drive very slowly. I was cough of guard and almost hit a car in front of me at the traffic light. afterwards I just drove very slowly to my house. I checked the errors on my car and did research (I did not go to the dealership because they just extort money from you). I found out that the auxiliary battery failed. I replaced the battery and reset the system and the new battery information and that fixed the issue. I read on the Land Rover forums similar experience from many owners of this car. I believe there is a serious design flow because the low voltage of the auxiliary battery should not have caused the brake booster to malfunction while I drove. Just to mention that this auxiliary battery is an additional battery, (it looks like a motorcycle battery) and the main one is still healthy. And this is a hybrid (PHEV) car. Lots of source of energy to power important modules in the car which should not depend on the small auxiliary battery. Plus, the engine was running, meaning the alternator should be enough to power the modules that failed. I was very scared and happy that it was not my wife who drove the car. I have a report that was generated by the diagnostic tool that I use. A lot of errors popped up during that scary drive home. I attached the report I recorded from my diagnostic tool.

Multiple Safety Concerns: 1)The vehicles Emergency Braking System engaged TWICE, SUDDENLY, and in busy traffic/highway situations. Now told BREAK PADS AND ROTORS are worn and rusted badly-unusually soon for a newly purchased car-less than a year old. The Austin Jaguar Land Rover dealership’s service person told me “most clients are replacing at 9,500 miles.” If this is truly the case, then why would my sensor warning system not alert me sooner? 2) The vehicle engine coolant light keeps coming on. Dealer told me to “top it off.” I check weekly and have to refill the coolant tank-now worried vehicle has faulted hoses or radiator and will overheat & catch on fire. There are a high number of owners of this vehicle brand, make, and model that are inquiring online about these safety concerns. Please investigate. Looking forward to a response.

On first occastions while driving at 60+ MPH on a busy highway, the vehicle beeped for a few seconds and the dashboard went blank, engine died, no brakes, no power steering. It was only a miracle that saved me from being hit at a high speed by other drivers. The dealer charged the battery and updated the SW. Approximately 5 weeks later, on the second occasion after driving 300 miles out of town, the same thing happened again. Luckily, I was on a local road and was able to get off the travel lanes. On both occasions, the vehicle was towed to a Land Rover Dealership. The vehicle remains at the dealership now for the past 10 days while they try to figure out the problem. The vehicle is less than 3 months with only 2600 miles. The Service Advisor at my local dealership told me that there have been several similar cases and that LR cannot seem to diagnose or fix the problem.

In June 2023, I started my car and I got 2 error messages "Hill Descent Control not available" and "OK to drive with caution stability control not available", then when pressing the brake, it was very difficult to press the brake and stop the car. I took to the dealer and they replaced the secondary auxillary battery. In July 2024, I started my car and received the same 2 error messages and had trouble using my brakes again (same issue as in 2023). My car is again at the dealer, and I am told that the secondary auxiliary battery has failed again, and they can't figure out why. This seems to be a serious and dangerous situation, and I read online that there have been other complaints from other owners. My 4-year/50k mile warranty expires in October 2024, and I would like Land Rover to cover any future issues (at the very least) following the warranty period since this seems to be a recurring issue.

This vehicle is a 2023 Range Rover . I took it in to have the winter tires removed and the summer tires installed. Range Rover did a vehicle inspection and it showed the brake pad wear on the front as being a #7 and the rear as a #2. The scale is 1 to 10 , Ten being NO wear or new pads. I have the write up from Range Rover and pictures they took . I also have the bad brake pads that look like they are flaking away. The repair cost was $2,459.97. The service technician told us this was his 5th 2023 large Range Rover he has done so far this year. They also mentioned that they never do brake pads on a 1 year old vehicle ,let alone 5 vehicles so far this year. As expected i called Range Rover support line with NO answers or resolutions. The majority of my wife's travels in this vehicle have my children with her . Not sure if you can notify Range Rover of this issue, I understand they are a foreign company. My car has 58000 miles And the alternator failed on the way due to valve cover gasket leaking oil on top of alternator to and ultimately fail. Due to alternator failure the cars driving features shutdown within few seconds all the warning lights came up and emergency braking, suspension and gears stopped working. This is a serious concern as the car systems shutdown this could have put me in a dangerous situations in mountains

2020 Land Rover Range Rover Lacey, WA

On December 17, 2022 I got back in my car from an earlier outing and had no brakes whatsoever. There was no warning, only a warning light afterwards that read something along the lines of "*** brake problem. Still safe to drive." The car is under warranty so I had it towed to Tacoma Land Rover. The brake situation was so dire that I sealed the key in an envelope, warning people there were no brakes. Long story but they determined that the brake failure was caused by a "dead auxiliary battery." I believe they said they replaced the battery but they might have recharged it since I wasn't asked to pay for a new one. If this had happened on the highway, I and others could have easily died. I'm afraid my safety is still at risk because there simply was no warning. I was fortunate that I was downtown late in the evening so there weren't many cars or pedestrians. I don't know if Land Rover had anyone inspect anything. There is no mention of it in the paperwork. I have asked them several times to change that "discharge" paperwork to reflect a "complete brake failure" but they do not reply. Paperwork currently reads something along the lines of, "...customer reports brake pedal is hard to depress..." and that's not the case at all.
