Per a factory recall — NTSB has ordered the following recall; Manufacturer Recall Number D027 NHTSA Recall Number 25V-514 Recall Status Recall Incomplete, remedy not yet available Summary A concern has been identified on certain 2014 and all 2015 to 2017 ModelYear Range Rover (L405) and Range Rover Sport (L494) vehicles where thefront suspension upper knuckle joint could develop a crack. In extremecases this may lead to detachment of the upper suspension arm. Safety Risk In extreme cases where a crack in the front suspension knuckle has developed, this may lead to detachment of the upper suspension arm, which under extreme avoidance maneuver use conditions may compromise the vehicle's controllability and increase the risk of a crash. This has been identified by independent mechanics as well, as a SEVERE safety concern. When this vehicle was taken to Hennessy Land Rover of north atlanta; they advised me that “they didn’t have parts for the recall”. Although they explained to me if I paid out of pocket for the work they had the parts to do the task. Service advisor is Peter Alvarez. SO THEY DON’T HAVE THE PARTS FOR AN NTSB RECALL? UNLESS I HAVE $6000/$7000 For a recall with a “SEVERE SAFETY RISK”? THIS IS ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE. THESE PEOPLE SELL $120,000 TRUCKS AND THEN REFUSE TO UNDERTAKE GOVERNMENT MANDATED RECALLS. THEIR EXCUSE IS “WE HAVE THE PARTS BUT ONLY IF YOU BUY THEM”. This is totally unacceptable. I have a wife and a small child who ride in this SUV and have owned the car for 7 of its 9 years on the road. Always immaculately maintained If HENNESSY LAND ROVER (NORTH ATLANTA) refuses to perform government mandated recalls they should not be doing business. Fuel tanks shields have rotted. I have researched this and it appears that the reason this problem occurs is because of a process called galvanic corrosion. The fuel tank shield is bolted onto an aluminum heat shield, and the pairing of these two different metals accelerates the corrosion. Land Rover has acknowledged this problem and it’s given priority due to the fact that this is a safety issue being that these shields are also responsible for holding the tanks in place.

The failed component is the fuel tank cover that is rusted through. This poses a risk of fuel tank puncture because of the rough terrain I travel for work. This rust has been confirmed by the servicing agent. No warning lights appeared to indicate problem.

When the auto start/stop is engaged and the engine is off (e.g. at a stop light), the car will sometimes shut down. It is as if I pressed the button to park the car. The shifter knob retracts but the indicator light stays on “D” for several seconds and I can’t restart the car. It has happened when I’m in an intersection waiting to turn left and has stranded me in the middle of the intersection. I have reported this problem several times to the dealership but they say they can’t reproduce the issue and there are no advisories from Land Rover. I have a suspicion that Land Rover knows about the issue but has no fix for it

In January 2025 I noticed light ticking/knocking at startup, idle, and while driving. On January 23, 2025 I searched online for how to check the oil level and for an L322 dipstick location (there is none). Only after finding a YouTube video with an undocumented override (double-pressing the “Cancel” button) was I able to see the oil level on January 31, 2025, and it showed zero. I added oil immediately, but the knocking gradually worsened over the following months until very loud clattering began on July 4, 2025. The electronic oil level monitoring and warning system failed. When I followed the owner’s manual procedure to check the oil, the display repeatedly showed “Oil Level Not Available” and never gave any low-oil or no-oil warning, even when the actual oil level was zero. Because this system is the only way to check oil level on this vehicle (there is no dipstick), it prevented me from knowing the engine had no oil. The engine then suffered progressive internal bearing/rod damage and now makes extremely loud clattering. The vehicle and components are still in my possession and are available for inspection upon request. The system’s failure meant I unknowingly drove the vehicle with zero oil, which can cause sudden engine failure, loss of power, and possible engine seizure while driving at highway speed. I used this vehicle on Los Angeles freeways, so a sudden loss of power could have led to an accident or left me stranded in a dangerous location. The vehicle now runs with severe clattering and is unsafe to drive, so I have parked it to avoid a complete failure in traffic. The vehicle has been parked since the severe failure on July 4, 2025 because I have not yet been able to afford towing and diagnostic work. There were no low-oil or oil-pressure warning lamps at any time. Prior to the failure, when I tried to check the oil level using the procedure in the owner’s manual, the display repeatedly showed the message “Oil Level Not Available.”

i have tried to get the recall 25V-514 repaired at two separate LR dealerships. One in MA and one in FL No parts available and no information on when they will be available.. Call LR customer service only to be told they dont have any information on parts availability. Front Passenger door unlatched with no warning. Vehicle is available for inspection upon request. I made a quick stop off the highway and my passenger and I got back in the vehicle and pulled off and the door opened. She pulled the door closed and it wouldn't latch. At this point we were miles away from home. The door could've unlatched on the highway that we were just on and caused a major accident by getting caught by the wind and blowing open which could've shifted the vehicle into a ditch or into other vehicles. My passenger could've been leaning on the door and could've been injured or dead if she fell out and the seat belt didn't hold. After encountering this issue, I have been researching and noticed Safety Recall N335 was issued for Range Rover vehicles, however my year is listed but my vin# fell slightly out of range for this recall. This is a huge issue and can impact my life as well as the lives of others when door stop unlatching.

While driving, my husband noticed a clunking or knocking noise coming from the front of the vehicle. He contacted the dealership in September and was told they were experiencing a system outage and could not assist us at that time. We continued to drive the vehicle, and soon after, the steering began to feel loose and started pulling to one side. While I was driving, the car suddenly jerked sharply, and I temporarily lost control of the steering. The vehicle felt increasingly unstable and unsafe to drive. Eventually, the car completely shut off while I was driving on the interstate.

Stopped at red light -- while waiting there came a very loud bang in back. I got out to inspect the rear and found the back window was fully crazed with two sizeable holes. I could find nothing that might explain the damage -- no projectiles in our outside the car -- no damage to the car other than a decimated rear window. By the time i got home the window was 80% broken in with the trunk area filled with shards. Another search (including with police) found nothing to explain the issue. Seems to be a manufacturing failure perhaps triggered by atmospheric events (temp or pressure changes)?

The front suspension knuckle on my 2016 Range Rover developed a visible crack, which caused severe play in the steering and made the vehicle unsafe to drive. On even small bumps, the vehicle would suddenly and forcefully pull into other lanes, creating a serious hazard. My safety, my [XXX] child’s safety, and the safety of others on the road were clearly at risk. I brought the vehicle to an authorized Land Rover dealership on January 30, 2025, where the issue was diagnosed and confirmed. I was advised not to drive the vehicle due to the danger, and it has remained parked at the dealership since that day. This issue is part of an open safety recall, but there has been no repair, no replacement part, and no loaner or rental vehicle provided to date. The vehicle has been out of service for nearly five months. There were no dashboard warning lights related to the steering, but I did receive a suspension system error message before the diagnosis. Steering instability continued to worsen leading up to the appointment. The dealership inspected and documented the cracked knuckle, and the defective part remains in the vehicle, available for inspection if needed. I am submitting this complaint due to the extended delay in addressing a known safety defect, the lack of support from the manufacturer, and the serious danger this failure presents to drivers and others on the road. Original coolant manifolds, two piece Vehicle was inspected by service tech at North Atlanta Land Rover in Alpharetta Ga on June 2, 2025. Vehicle was then inspected for a second opinion at Bear Valley Service LLC on June 10, 2025. Findings were consistent and I was advised to repair this two piece manifold system and its components before it failed causing catastrophic failure to the vehicle. Said repair was complete June 11, 2025. Safety to myself and potential passenger would be potential for vehicle to fail causing an accident, engine failure, steering issues, etc. This similar problem has been reported to Land Rover numerous times. Land Rover has not issued a recall although they acknowledge (per both techs) that this two piece manifold system is prone to splitting and cracking. Land Rover has sub sequentially changed and now installs one piece manifold systems to eliminate the prior problem. I had to pay for the replacement of this system regardless that Land Rover is completely aware this is a design or manufactured defect that was installed in my vehicle when it was built. I should not have to bear the financial burden to replace parts that the dealer and manufacturer have acknowledged cause catastrophic problems. The manifold issue was discovered by the dealership mentioned above and they recommended immediate replacement to avoid catastrophic failure. ($5116.30) i took the vehicle to another Range Rover authorized repair shop for a second opinion and they made the same recommendation. Based on that second opinion, I proceeded to have the two piece replaced by the one piece system to prevent catastrophic failure. I can provided the invoice listing labor and all associated replacement parts that were installed. This is a Land Rover issue and I believe they should pay the entire amount due to the fact they acknowledge the failure of these parts yet have no intention to do so.

On May 25th, 2025 around noon, I was backing up my Range Rover out of the garage to go and buy some items, after I exited the garage I felt that the car had bumped an item in the back, I did not see anything on the back view camera because sometimes it is slow to load up and also I did not hear any warning noises from the rear sensors, I moved the car forward trying to avoid further bump and to my knowledge I put the rotary gear selector in parking mode and got out of the car, at that point the car started moving backward, and I got stuck between the open door and the backward moving car, I tried to put my hand on the break to stop the car and I manage to stop the car at the time when the car hit a bench under the tree, and I got pinned between the open door and the bench that was stopped by the tree. I had a major trauma to the right side of my body, I was rushed to the nearest hospital, when it was decided that I need to be transported to a larger facility via ambulance. Radiology tests showed a large hematoma on the right side of my body between the rib cage and the pelvis along with a flank hernia with pertruding of the right colon. I purchased this Range Rover in November of 2022. The vehicle was serviced once at the dealership for wind noise on June 26, 2023. The vehicle was parked at my home for a week while our family was on vacation before I returned on August 10th, 2023. It was not driven during this time period. On August 10th, 2023 I came out of the house to drive the vehicle and remotely unlocked the car and sat in the vehicle. One of my children's cars was parked behind me, so I got out of the car and took another vehicle to run a quick 20 minute errand. I returned home and went inside the house. Shortly thereafter the Range Rover caught fire under the hood on the passenger side of the vehicle. The vehicle was parked under the soffit of my house and ended up catching my entire house on fire. The car continued to burn under the hood until it was put out by the fire department. The fire department and other investigators traced the source of the fire to the right front portion of the Range Rover under the hood on the passenger side. My neighbor also witnessed the car buring in this area right before he went to get a fire extinguisher and call the fire department.
