Bought 2022 Dodge Ram 2500 equipped with Firestone LT275/70R18E 125 tires on Dec2023. Truck has 21000 miles, sidewalls on all 4 tires are splitting and have a ring around them in the same exact spot on the sidewalls. Dealer said it appears to be a defect on all tires. Dodge referred me to Firestone, got no where with them. Tires appear the sidewalls could blow out on highway and unsafe. Caught defects before possible premature blowouts on all 4 tires due to premature cracking on sidewalls. No towing or hauling done with truck, never been off pavement either, truck parked under cover from sun etc. Dealer advised tires not worn and had great tread depth. Dodge Ram installed these tires to sell the truck but referred me to Firestone for replacement, still trying to get someone to own up to these defective tires besides me.

Hi I have been driving for over 42 years & never had a tire valve fail on me. This past winter we drove cross country, form Pennsylvania to Arizona, pulling a 26' trailer. I am meticulous about monitoring my tire air pressure. We were heading back home in April & my TPMS system set off an alert that my driver's side rear tire was losing air. We pulled over & I changed out to our spare. I went to inflate the tire & discovered the leak was at the valve. The rubber had delaminated from the threaded tube. I had tire replaced just north of Nashville Tennessee. When we got home, I went to perform a tire rotation & discovered that the new tire(carried as a spare) had a bad valve. Firestone replaced that valve. 2 weeks ago, on my way home from a doctor's appointment, I had another valve fail. Again Firestone replaced it. My concern is 3 valves failing in 3 months time. Tires were purchased new 6/2024, valves were allegedly changed. 3 valves failures in 3 months from different Firestone locations separated by 1000 miles. I am looking to get a new set of tires before we go away again. I am leery of using Firestone, because of defective tire valves. Can you please look into this matter, and let me know the outcome ?

LT285/60R20 with 12,700 miles. I had just left the parking lot at the Cumberland YMCA and was merging into traffic on [XXX] westbound in Cumberland Md., accelerating to the speed limit (55MPH) when I began hearing a noise. I then saw a red warning light on the dashboard indicating 0 tire pressure on the left rear tire. Looking in the outside rear view mirror I could see the tire was flat and the truck was basically riding on the rim (thus the noise). To my knowledge I did not hit any debris or potholes. I had children in the back seat. Fortunately at the low speed no one was in danger. I need to replace the tire (actually I will replace all 4 as I have no trust in Firestone) so I don't know about the availability for inspection but I will take photos. I purchased this 2022 Ram 2500 crew cab diesel 4x4 in June of 2023. The truck was purchased brand new with only 8 miles on it. The truck had the original OEM - Firestone Transforce HT LT275 70 R18 tires. The truck has 9500 miles on it now and I just noticed that all 4 tires have dry rot type cracking around a slightly depressed ring on the sidewall of the tires. This looks similar to the defective tires described in a voluntary recall of the same tires in 2021. These tires appeare to be defective. There is no reason that tires that are a few years old wth only 9500 miles on them should have this uniform dry rot type cracking on all 4 tires. I took the truck to Discount tire and the technician confirmed that the tires were not safe to operate so now I have to buy all 4 tires and I am replacing the spare as well. While traveling westbound on I-64 at highway speed (~65 MPH), I experienced a complete tire failure of the driver's side front fire. It was first experienced as severe front-end vibration that made control of the vehicle difficult; there were no warnings or other indications of imminent failure. Fortunately, I was able to get the vehicle to the roadway's shoulder without injury or accident. Upon exiting the vehicle, I noticed that the left front tire was flat, and a portion of the tire's tread was protruding above the surface of the tire. Because of vehicle's location/proximity to the interstate, both vehicle occupants were at risk of serious injury if a crash were to occur; the vehicle was also a hazard to passing traffic. Minimizing some risks, we were assisted on scene by the Virginia State Police as well as a VDOT Motorist Assist vehicle until the vehicle was able to be towed away. I have a set of 285/60R20 Discoverer AT3 XLT tires that I purchased new for my ‘14 Ram 2500 in December of 2020. On June 7th of this year (2023) I had my tire “cave in” in the middle due to the belts in the tire separating. This defect on the tire caused an extreme wobble and made the vehicle unsafe to drive. The tires in question had 33k miles on them and my local dealer said they would not be warrantied and I was forced to pay $900 to replace both front tires. On August 19, the same defect occurred on one of the 2 remaining tires (tires have 37k miles on them). This defect in the belts/cords again cause the tire to “cave in” and have a death wobble while driving down the road. I own numerous vehicles and have been through several sets of tires on each of them and have never experienced 1) an extreme failure of the tire like this and 2) this high of a failure rate (currently at 50%). These tires are unsafe for the road and need to be recalled!
