The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, and the contact was informed that the repair might take 2 or 3 days to be completed. The dealer was only able to pay for a rental vehicle for two days. The contact stated that 5 days later, the dealer was still waiting on parts from the manufacturer to repair the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The contact had not experienced a failure.

The recall C4B/NHTSB 24v-893 came out in January of 2025. The parts are still not available for this recall (per Chrysler/RAM). I have been driving my truck with a possible non-working ABS system for a year and a half, often pulling a 10,000 lb trailer. I feel that this is ridiculous that the part is still not available. If I had a wreck during this time, I guarantee that I would sue the crap out of Chrysler.

I have a 2025 ram 2500 diesel, and I use it to tow, as I am a farmer, and have a farm. I pull stock trailers, my tractor, and other trailers associated with my farm. I took my truck in for the trailer tow module recall to be done over 4 months ago, and they said they had to order the part and would call once it came in. It has now been over 4 months, I have called the dealer to follow up, and keep getting the same answer. The part hasn't arrived yet, and they will call me when it comes in. Every time I hook up a trailer it disables my trailer brakes, throws the AEB light on, and I am afraid, that in the instance I have to stop abruptly, that I may crash, and or hurt or even Kill someone due to these issues. I'm at a loss, they are worried about doing the trucks on the lot before they take care of the ones on the road per Jeremy at the Crain Ram dealership in Hot Springs, AR, which I don't feel is right to do. They got my money, now I have to deal with the issue, and potentially worse, until they get their unsold trucks done on the lot. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

Vehicle: 2017 Ram 2500 4x4 Diesel NHTSA Recall Number: 24V-896 Manufacturer Recall Number: C4B My vehicle is subject to Recall 24V-896 involving a Brake Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) that may fail and cause intermittent loss of ABS, Electronic Stability Control, and Traction Control. Beginning around September 2025, my vehicle started experiencing intermittent ABS and Electronic Braking System warning lights while driving. The warnings occur randomly during vehicle operation and not only at startup. I have contacted and visited my Ram dealership multiple times regarding both the recall and the active warning lights. The dealership advised that recall parts were not available and did not perform a diagnosis of the warning lights. I was informed that the recall remedy was unavailable and was not provided a determination regarding whether the vehicle was safe to operate. Because the dealership would not diagnose the active warning condition, I paid for an independent inspection. On March 5, 2026, an independent repair facility diagnosed Diagnostic Trouble Code C0020-01 (ABS Pump Motor Control Failure). Their inspection notes state that they flow-tested the ABS system and determined that the ABS module was faulty. The symptoms currently being experienced by my vehicle appear consistent with the failure mode described in Recall 24V-896, which states that a failing HCU may initially result in intermittent loss of ABS and traction control before progressing to permanent loss. As of June 2026, the recall remains incomplete and the remedy is still unavailable. I am concerned that the vehicle is exhibiting symptoms consistent with the recalled defect while no repair is available. I am requesting NHTSA review the delay in providing a remedy and the safety implications of vehicles experiencing active symptoms associated with this recall while parts remain unavailable.

The backup camera does not work properly as delivered from the dealership. The problem is intermittent, hard to reproduce reliably and is occurring on a brand new unit. The vehicle is very large with huge blind spots and poses a risk to others when reversing.

Truck has 170 miles and it suddenly slammed on the breaks on the highway stating that the EBS failed. A loud humming sound came from the transmission and now the truck is saying service transmission and service brakes. The truck will need to be towed to a dealer to review as it is not drivable at this time .

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
The vehicle experienced repeated electrical and no-start issues believed to be related to the RF/electrical communication system. The truck has been returned to the dealership repeatedly for this issue and recently spent approximately two months at the dealership for diagnosis and repair. After finally being returned, the vehicle was completely dead the very next morning and would not start. The vehicle has also experienced dangerous electrical failures while being driven. During one incident at night, the headlights and interior electrical system became extremely dim and began flickering while an employee was operating the truck. Visibility was significantly reduced to the point the driver could barely see the roadway. During the same event, the brake pedal became abnormally hard to press intermittently, creating a serious safety concern while driving. The failure also occurred on our business lot where the truck was blocking multiple trailers needed for scheduled customer deliveries, creating operational disruption and safety concerns related to moving equipment and trailers around an inoperable heavy-duty truck. The dealership reportedly replaced or repaired an RF-related component/module during the repair process. However, the problem appears unresolved because the truck failed again immediately after being returned from service. Symptoms have included: * Complete battery drain/no-start condition * Flickering and dimming headlights/electrical systems * Intermittent hard brake pedal condition * Repeated electrical-related issues * Extended dealer downtime * Ongoing unresolved repair attempts The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. This truck is used daily for commercial/business operations. Reliability concerns are significant because unexpected electrical failure or no-start conditions can leave the vehicle stranded or create hazardous driving conditions. My vehicle has an open safety recall (24V896000) with no available remedy for over a year. I'm not sure why you guys aren't seeing it. The ABS warning light is illuminated, indicating a failure of a critical safety system. I reside in [XXX] where annual safety inspections are required and that date is now here. Despite the defect, the vehicle was passed by a Dodge dealership knowing the ABS system is not functioning properly as there isn't a fix. The manufacturer, Stellantis, has no repair available and no timeline and I've only gotten the run around from their recall department and corporate. I am being forced to operate a vehicle with a known safety defect or not use it at all. This situation leaves consumers without a remedy for a federally recognized safety issue. Was towing with my 2018 Ram 2500 ... truck ABS failed to engage under emergency stopping narrowly missing stopped car in front of me... truck took substantially longer to stop and brakes locked up... There is an outstanding recall on this but RAM says parts are not available... there appear to be in excess of 317,000 large heavy duty Ram trucks on the road, probably most towing heavy loads, with failing ABS and Hydraulic Control Units (HCU). At what point will Ram be made to actually fix the problem and make parts available to their service dealers versus just ignoring the issue??? Now the truck has permanent ABS light on but no parts from Ram to fix???

ABS System Module/System Brake Failure Unsafe and Can not drive anymore The problem was produced December 5, 2024 and they have refused to fix the recall. The problem has been inspected by several local dealerships as well as team Dodge ram and Chrysler Corporation There is warning lights that actually accelerate and go off every 60 seconds as you’re driving. This has been going on for years and it was like this four days to five days after we drove off the car lot and we paid $40,000 for this truck..

Airbags did not deploy during a significant accident where (self) Dodge Ram 2500 Laramie 2024 truck was involved in 2 front on collisions hitting 2 different vehicles at approx 65 mph (about 5 mins apart) including a 3rd part to the accident with a rear collision by a full speed tractor trailer moving the (dodge) truck about 200 ft. into the 2nd parked vehicle (blue sedan). Dodge truck (self) was not drivable after the initial accident into the chevy truck. No auto breaking and no frontal collision warning (uncertain if they are standard for the trucks or an option) occurred. The vehicle was towed and in a tow lot (is available for inspection). There is a police report and followed up with an ER visit same day. At least 3 vehicles were totaled due to this accident. The initially hit vehicle (white chevy truck) was the cause of the accident.
