Taillight is retaining water and causing my taillights to go out. This is a very well known issue as the dealer was aware of this issue with a lot of Durangos. The dealer offered no repair as there’s not be a recall and the warranty on my Durango is up. My rear hatch/lift gate is also off and rubbing near the bottom causing the paint to be worn and now beginning to rust. There’s are definitely a quality issue with Dodge as there’s many other Durango’s affected by this.

To whom it may concern, On [XXX] at around [XXX] PST, I was taking my car to get a car wash at Quick Quack Car Wash located in [XXX] . While waiting in line for the other cars to go in, all of sudden I see a huge fire flame shoot out from under the hood. My car was on full fire extremely rapidly, in front of the multiple cars and near the entrance of this car wash, while this car was in fire I ran inside and asked the personnel for a fire extinguisher, to consume the flames coming out of the hood, as I was extremely concerned about the safety and personnel of this location. As soon as I got the extinguisher, I ran towards the car and started spraying powder everywhere I saw flames coming out from top of the hood and under the car, as flames and melted material dropped down from under the car. When I saw the flames got contained, I saw a water hose near the entrance in which I went and turn on and ran to continue pouring water into the engine bay compartment in order to make sure the fire was fully contained. All I could say is that I was very scared and extremely worried that this car could explode in front of this business with all the people working there. As soon I put the fire out, my friend help me push it out of the way into the much larger empty parking lot in order for the business to continue to conduct their business. Vehicle Sudden Unintended Acceleration – Safety Complaint Vehicle: 2022 Dodge Durango Weather: Rain Situation: The vehicle was at an almost complete stop at a red light and in a 5 feet distance from the car in front. Without pressing the accelerator, the car suddenly surged forward at significant force and hit the vehicle in front of us. There was no driver input on the accelerator. The incident appeared to be caused by an electronic or computer malfunction, possibly related to moisture from the rain. This could have resulted in serious injury or death if another vehicle had not been in front of us to stop the acceleration. Please investigate this issue, as it represents a major safety risk.

The obd reader on my 2003 Durango brings up code for central timing module and eeprm checksum error were the safety recall is in order but the vin number is not in the list of recall. It has all the specification of recall but vin number isn't in the list of recalls. I'm driving around in a unsafe vehicle due to manufacturing error that my vin number is the only thing why they won't fix it. Why do they not care if I kill myself or others from this that the recall is

I was driving at around 45 MPH when my rear spoiler suddenly detached from my 2022 vehicle. It was only held on by one latch and the wire for the rear camera. This could have caused a serious accident — even a fatal one — if it had come completely off. I looked online and saw that this issue has happened to other owners, and that there is a recall related to this defect. However, when I called Dodge, I was told that since my VIN isn’t listed under the recall, they can’t assist me. This seems incredibly unsafe and unfair, considering the potential for serious injury or death. I will gladly have anyone inspect the spoiler if needed. My car has had no warning or prior issues at all. I bought it new in 2022, and I believe this is a significant safety concern that needs to be addressed. Please advise how Dodge can resolve this issue and ensure my safety. Thank you for your urgent attention to this matter.
NHTSA complaint #11665511 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.
Rear spoiler flew off on highway as I was on my way to my son‘s [XXX] birthday party with a vehicle full of children. This is a major concern because it could have endanger the people in the vehicle as well as the people outside of the vehicle on the highway. This was a disaster. No one was hurt, but I have full intentions on contacting my attorney. After research there was a recall for 2021 through 2023 on spoilers for the Dodge Durango possibly not being intact and could potentially fly off. I purchased this vehicle with less than 500 miles on it at the end of 2023 December to be exact I was never notified of a recall and after a year and a half later, it happened to me. What should I do and how should I proceed? I have pictures and videos. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I have a 2015 but on all Durangos with the reat racetrack brake lighting, 2014 and newer dodge durango's, this product is fully defective on all. The brake lights and running lights go out and stop working on this style lighting and also obtain moisture. First you start losing some of the lighting on the track lighting as in brake light's until it fully goes out. This product needs to be recalled and replaced
NHTSA complaint #11647130 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.
The rear led license plates light obtain moisture corroding the electrical as do the racetrack rear light and go out. I have replaced the 2 rear license plat light assemblies and have gone again again causing myself to receive a traffic citation and attorney fee's due to this defect that thousands of other people are filing complaints about. All of the rear body lighting needs to be recalled and reimbursed for these expenses. The license plate led light(2) are not cheap from the dealer. I have also now received a traffic citation for the brake lighting not properly working on the race track lighting so I will be filing this as a legal matter with the courts to be reimbursed A police report was done as I was ticketed for both on 2 different occasions.

The contact owns a 2019 Dodge Durango. The contact stated while driving at 70 MPH, the rear spoiler detached from the vehicle. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact merged to the side of the road as the third brake light wire started hitting the rear glass window. The contact opened the gate, placed the wire back in the gate, and kept driving. The vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic, where the contact was informed that a new spoiler was needed. The vehicle was not repaired for the most recent failure. The dealer was not made aware of the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.

Head rest deployed outside of “extended warranty “ its a safety hazard. This part should be total recalled. The rear passenger door latch gets stuck or pops open randomly. It will not close when this happens and it has come open upon locking and driving! Again dangerous where children sit. This is with child lock on or off the problem continues. The third complaint is the seat belts will not retract in the front seat but the dealership requires me to pay a fee to have it assessed. This is a “recalled”issue but it isn't for my vin These three things seem to all fall shortly after buying the vehicle within the last four yrs. Exact dates unknown.

Rear liftgate strut stud ball mount broke and the tailgate slammed on my wife’s head. She was knocked to the ground and her neck has hurt for months now.

There is a problem with the rear middle light on the lift gate. Water is getting into them and shorting them out then leading it to need a replacement. This is an on going issue with dodge Durangos. Something needs to be done with this design flaw on the Durango’s because they charge 1400 for the part plus labor for it to be replaced when the light wasn’t built right

Water intrusion on Track Light started with small section becoming dim March 2023. Left license plate bulb/housing went out october 2023 with corrosion on plug. February 2024 entire hatch lighting out (track light + both license plate lights).

Was driving and the vehicle stalled well driving, Had a hard time trying to stop and could barley steer the vehicle. Vehicle was flashing shift to park. This has happened two times to me now and I took it to the dealership and it happened to them as well. The radio screen sometimes doesn't light up and it will freeze and won't let you do anything, when cell phone is connected via blue tooth it will disconnect and then reconnect and randomly turn the volume all the way up and music will start playing, A/C will randomly kick on when I didn't have it on due to it being winter time and use only the heat now. rear brake light the race bar part of it is out and Mopar won't replace, Hood of the vehicle has rust bubbles and the lift gate has rust, I asked Mopar about the warranty and they said I missed the expiration date and they would not cover it. Three of the tires keep losing air and I am now on my second set of tires in a year and two months, Valve stems replaced two times as well.

I have an open safety recall on my 2021 Dodge Durango R/T. Upon receiving the paperwork in the mail I brought my car to a dealer to get it assessed. During that appointment, it was decided that I did need the recall part to be ordered and replaced. The dealer sent me on my way. I called back today to get an idea of when this would be performed and unfortunately, they said Chrysler did not have any parts available and that my part had effectively no ETA on it. I called Chrysler Customer Care to see what they could do in helping me locate the part. The service person on the other end of the phone told me that the car was safe to drive and there was absolutely NOTHING they could do for me and that I would have to wait. I then informed the service person I used to be a manager of a parts department for the CDJR brand and asked about the program that Chrylser has to expedite parts for customers. I have first-hand experience dealing with the expedition team and they always pulled through when I had my customers call in the past (less than a year ago). They would be able to acquire a part that had no ETA and get it to me usually within a week which was incredible for the safety needs of (at the time) our customers. The service person then informed me they had no idea and reiterated that there is nothing they can do and the vehicle is safe to drive. I need to put this complaint in because I have an open safety recall on my vehicle and the company that owns the recall and the part can not give me any estimation of when it will be taken care of and it is to be taken care of in a reasonable amount of time. I don't know who defines what reasonable is but having no estimate at all is certainly not justifiable. This recall is holding back business and personal driving because we as customers do not feel safe driving these long distances knowing that our vehicle could kill us or someone else due to this part flying off of our car and causing an accident with little to no warning.
