2019 Ford F-150 Coppell, TX

SUSPENSION

While driving on a straight road, flat surface the ball joint failed/broke causing the lower control arm to drop which in turn caused a collapse of the driver side front suspension. The front quarter panel sustained significant damage due to the collapse. It was all I could do to try and keep the truck under reasonable control. The control bar broke off, traveled under the truck causing some damage, to the under carriage, punctured the rear right passenger tire before denting the back right panel behind the wheel where it exited. Fortunately this was in a rural area, early morning so no other vehicles were involved. Should we keep the pieces so they can be tested/inspected

In January I brought my truck into ford to get service on the recall 23S65. Since then the recall has broke and I cannot and haven’t been able to drive my truck since then. It has been at Statesboro ford since then sitting waiting on parts. I am under the understanding that the parts have been on back order since 2024 and it could be a year before I even get my truck back and fixed. Since it’s a safety recall I cannot drive the truck especially that it is broken. I would like some sort of repair or fix to this situation, unfortunately I haven’t gotten anything since January. If the issue is not resolved I will be involving a lawyer.

The antilock brake system locked up causing me not to be able to stop the vehicle .The shift gear froze up .When I put my foot on the brake pedal it was frozen, I could not control the pedal Also the shift level gear did not work presenting a safety hazard when I tried to put it in park. The Sudden Transmission Downshift which was a safety recall happened There were no warning lamps or lights prior to this incident. The accident caused me to total my vehicle My safety was at risk I injured my leg, I filed a police report I also filed a claim with the Ford company which they quickly denied stating that the recall on the parts had expired I only had liability insurance and my truck was a total loss. I hope I'm still in the time frame to put in a claim

2013 Ford F-150 Lovettsville, VA

SUSPENSION

2013 Ford F‑150 Limited – VIN [XXX] On [XXX], my 2013 Ford F‑150 Limited experienced a sudden and dangerous transmission failure involving the transmission conductor plate (lead frame). My son was driving the vehicle when the dashboard abruptly shut off, multiple warning lights illuminated, and the truck lost engine power. Shortly afterward, while braking, the engine attempted to accelerate on its own, and the vehicle resisted slowing down. This created an immediate and life‑threatening situation. These symptoms match the known failure mode of defective 6R80 transmission lead frames, which NHTSA has previously identified as a serious safety hazard due to sudden loss of power, erratic shifting, unintended acceleration, and dashboard failure. The vehicle became undriveable and could not be safely transported to a Ford dealership. It had to be repaired at a nearby independent shop (Auto Stop Elite of Purcellville, VA). The conductor plate was replaced on February 12, 2026, at a total cost of $1,689.59. Despite this being a well‑documented safety defect affecting many Ford F‑150 owners, no recall or service campaign was ever issued for my VIN. No warnings appeared on Ford’s website, Carfax, or through any Ford communication. Other owners have received reimbursement from Ford for the same failure, yet Ford provided no notice or remedy in my case. This defect placed my son’s life in danger and represents a clear safety issue that should be addressed. I am requesting that NHTSA review this incident as part of the ongoing pattern of conductor plate/lead frame failures in Ford’s 6R80 transmissions. We are informing you because we have contacted Ford and they have done NOTHING to resolve this. We had to have it repaired and were never aware that there was a safety recall. We expect to be reimbursed in full for this repair by Ford. To date - we are being ignored and will now pursue with the Virginia Attorney General's office as well. The vibration occurs consistently above approximately 40 mph and becomes more pronounced at highway speeds. It is felt in: • Gas pedal • Underbody near shifter • Steering wheel • Seat Despite numerous repair attempts and replacement of major drivetrain components, the vibration has not been permanently resolved. Truck keeps throwing road force on brand new tires as well. Repairs and attempts have included: • Tire pressure corrections • Multiple tire balances and road force balancing • Replacement of all four tires • Subsequent rebalancing of the replacement tires after road force values continued to fluctuate • Additional tire replacement when road force variation repeatedly returned despite proper balancing • Replacement of both front hubs • Replacement of both front axles • Replacement of front steering knuckles • Replacement of front differential ring and pinion bearing kit • Replacement of right front axle • Replacement of transfer case • Replacement of front driveshaft • Diagnostic tire swapping from another vehicle for comparison At one point, test tires from another truck were installed to isolate the concern, which resulted in the vibration spreading further into the steering wheel and seat. The issue affects drivability and confidence in the vehicle at highway speeds. Current visit beginning January 7, 2026: Vehicle has remained at the dealership continuously with no return to me and no confirmed repair completion (now exceeding 40 consecutive days). The cumulative days out of service significantly exceed 30 days. Despite substantial drivetrain component replacement, the vibration concern persists. The persistent vibration affects normal use, drivability, and confidence in the vehicle at highway speeds. Persistent drivetrain vibration at highway speeds raises safety concerns. Repeated axle, differential, transfer case, and driveshaft replacements indicate unresolved mechanical instability.

I am filing a complaint regarding Ford Safety Recall 23S65 and the way Ford Motor Company have handled my vehicle over the past seven months. My truck has been held at the dealership since July 2025, and the recall repair has still not been completed. Despite this extremely long delay, Ford has not issued a stop‑drive order, grounding order, or any owner notification stating that the vehicle is unsafe to operate. The recall bulletin states the half‑shaft remains retained even if the bolt fails, yet the dealership refuses to release my vehicle, citing “liability.” Ford Customer Service has been unable to provide any documentation supporting the dealer’s refusal. Ford updated the dealer‑facing recall bulletin to require replacement of both half‑shafts if one side fails inspection. However, Ford never sent owners an updated recall notice explaining this change, never informed owners that the vehicle must remain at the dealership, and never issued any communication indicating increased safety risk. I, as the owner, received no updated recall letter at all. My family and I have repeatedly asked the dealership and my Ford case representative to replace the broken side and release the truck until parts arrive for the other side. We were told this was “not allowed,” but neither Ford nor the dealer can provide written documentation requiring the vehicle to be held. My case representative has been extremely difficult to reach and has not provided clear or consistent information. This situation has left me without my vehicle for over seven months, with no timeline, no communication, and no justification for the vehicle being held. This appears to violate the intent of federal recall law, which requires timely repairs and prohibits withholding a vehicle without a stop‑drive order. I am requesting NHTSA review Ford’s handling of Recall 23S65, the excessive repair delays, and the lack of owner notification regarding updated repair requirements.

Driving on the highway at highway speeds, heard clanking then a loud bang, then vehicle would not longer respond to the accelerator so we coasted onto the median. We had the vehicle towed and found out from a Ford dealer that the rear axle had broken due to Ford's failure to repair under Manufacturer Recall Number23S65 NHTSA Recall Number23V896 and that had caused damage to the rear differential. We were fortunate not to have been in or caused a significant accident. I had the vehicle at a Ford dealer in Illinois in 2024, but the recall was not performed due to lack of parts. This incident happened thereafter, in November of 2025, and the vehicle has been off of the road at a Ford dealer in Indiana since. Same story, no parts. Ford offers no timeline for repair, advising it could be 3 months, could be a year - it is indefinite. I recently was advised that there are 70,000 orders for the parts for this repair, and although I am on the "emergency off road list" that is still 15,000 orders long. Additionally, I had the vehicle in early in my ownership window for lags when the transmission shifted at certain times, it was checked and given the all clear, but - intermittently arose - given Ford representations I ignored it but never felt the delays were safe as it slowed vehicle responsiveness, albeit it slightly. I now see active litigation around these transmission issues in the F-150.

My Ford F-150 is subject to Manufacturer Recall Number23S65/NHTSA Recall Number23V896. I asked for the repair multiple times, but the dealership repeatedly told me that the parts were on backorder. The hub bolt on my right rear tire cracked and the truck was making a high pitched sound. I took it to the dealer and they said the bolt was cracked and driving it in that condition is dangerous. The truck is not safe to drive, but the parts remain on backorder indefinitely.

I noticed the rear axel or back suspension on this truck is making a very load uncomfortable sound, like when two pieces of metal are rubbing up against each other... Its under tension and making a bind on the back passenger side. I got the truck with my mechanic few and body/auto repair guy and observed a 1/4 inch UBolt that holds the lead spring I believe hitting up against another bolt on the rear suspension and I cant access or open the drain plug too check the differential. Also there are a lot of loose wires under the dashboard, that already made me trip once, and Im a disabled veteran. Can you please help me get that taken care of?

A certified independent inspection company discovered welding on the main chassis of my Ford F-150. The welding is located on the front left frame area. I purchased the vehicle brand new, and it has never been in any accident or collision. This welding on a critical structural part creates a serious safety risk. Frame integrity may be compromised in normal driving or in the event of an impact. I transport my children daily in this vehicle, and I am afraid to drive it due to the possibility of structural failure. The official Ford dealer inspected the vehicle and kept it for approximately three weeks but provided no explanation or repair. The regional Ford office has delayed their technical report for more than five months with no response. The defect has been confirmed and is permanent. No warnings or lights appeared prior to discovering the issue. This is a manufacturing-related structural defect affecting vehicle safety, stability, and integrity. A proper safety resolution is required.

The contact owns a 2024 Ford F-150. The contact stated that soon after purchasing the vehicle, the wrench warning light was displayed on the instrument panel. The contact then received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V341000 (Suspension); and related the recall to the warning light being illuminated. The contact stated that several appointments were scheduled with the local dealer for the recall repair; however, the dealer failed to service the recall after each visit. The contact was recently informed that the dealer did not have the tool needed to repair the vehicle and was waiting for another dealer to provide the tool for the repair. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but offered no assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 1,200.

Splash guard under the vehicle, sometimes also referred to as a diaper, fell off. I reported it to the dealer and was told I didn't need it anyhow. Well, if I didn't need it anyhow why did they put it on to begin with ? I also notice a lot of other Ford vehicles driving down the road with these guards (diapers) hanging down, so it isn't just a me problem it's a Ford problem. After inspecting the guard it is made of such cheap material I don't know how any engineering designer could of thought that these would hold up given the environment under a vehicle especially a truck. I would also think that this could easily become a road hazard.

I have a 2022 f150 2.7l with 46000 miles. I have had issues with the truck ever since I bought it. The safety issue is a few things. One when I put it in reverse my truck shudders and acts like I pressed on the break really fast several times. I also havr an issue with a cold start when I start it up the truck it acts like it wants to die or looses rpms. I here a paddling coming from the intake valves possibly. Im not sure what part is broke but it makes a rattling sound. Iv brought it to the dealership that I bought the truck from and they say we domt notice anything and its been a struggle to get them to actually thoroughly look into it. Im concerned it will lead to an engine failure because it also loses power and wants to die at times. Iv taken excellent care of the truck and always change oil and any parts on time. It also when I put it in drive makes a loud clunk sound and has a very hard time shifting gears between 3 and 4. Very rough shifting and very concerning.

I bought the truck and two months later as I was driving the vehicle the rear defrental went out and caused the wheels to improperly balance the speed of all tires as I turned and cause my truck to turn roughly and I almost got in a wreck. I brought it to ford and they seen it needed to be replaced. Mind you its only been a few months. About a year later it has issues again as im driving and I also noticed it was leaking def oil really bad. I brought it in and they said they fixed it. About 7 months later I had issues with it again and they had to repair again. Its very concerning and is a big issue and safety concern.

The coil spring on the front end suspension snapped on my Ford F-150. The truck is a 2019 with just over 43,000 miles. The truck has not had any performance or suspension modifications over the life of the vehicle. Coil springs are an essential component of the suspension system, absorbing impacts and maintaining vehicle stability. As the coil spring snapped completely, this is a hazard to the driver of the vehicle and anyone driving alongside the road. The vehicle is now at a independent service center, once they identified the coil had snapped, they contacted me immediately noting the vehicle is no longer safe for driving. There were no warning lamps or messages that arose due to the issue. The only warning sign was a "squeaking noise" at low speeds which I requested the mechanic review when doing a routine oil change.
