*** VEHICLE FIRE RISK *** Drivers dash tweeter started smoking and the dash became hot to the touch near the windshield. Smelled something electrical burning. Smoke stain on LWR LH windshield corner. Removed key. Exited vehicle and heard static from drivers door speaker. Entered car, re-started vehicle and static from the one-speaker-only did not stop. Removed key, exited vehicle, and the drivers door speaker was still emitting static sound. About 15 minutes later, the static sound stops and vehicle operates "normal" except for missing/low "high-frequency" on LH side. Suspect that the tweeter was exposed to full 12 volt power unregulated. Fire risk was high. Dash made an "alarm noise" beeping loudly (when this event occurred). 2025 Maverick XL AWD Hybrid Truck has approximately 29,000 miles on odometer.
NHTSA complaint #11756848 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.
On 7-2-26, my 2022 Ford Maverick Hybrid was brought to College Station Ford to receive the remedy for mandatory Safety Recall 24S59 (NHTSA Campaign 24V684000) regarding the frozen Rear View Camera display image. Prior to this service, the vehicle’s electrical, starting, and hybrid systems functioned flawlessly without error.Immediately following the completion of the recall service, which required a software flash of the Connected Touch Radio/Audio Control Module (ACM), the vehicle suffered a catastrophic module network failure resulting in a permanent no-start condition. The vehicle's Powertrain Control Module (PCM) and Body Control Module (BCM) have glitched into a permanent High-Voltage System Isolation Lockout loop.Independent professional laboratory load-testing has certified that the vehicle's low-voltage 12V auxiliary battery is healthy, fully charged, and completely functional. However, the vehicle can currently only be turned on by attaching an external 12V jump-pack directly to the battery system. This external voltage spike manually overrides the corrupted software communication loop, forcing the vehicle's electrical relays to close. The dealership has refused to remedy this botched recall programming, claiming the physical hybrid high-voltage lines have suddenly failed. Because a low-voltage 12V jump-pack cannot power or repair broken high-voltage traction lines, the vehicle is suffering from a software-induced safety lockout directly caused by the failed execution of Recall 24S59.This presents an active, extreme safety hazard. A hybrid powertrain suffering from un-remedied module communication failures and high-voltage isolation fault lockouts risks a sudden, unexpected, and catastrophic loss of motive power while operating at highway speeds on public roads.I am filing this report because the manufacturer's official recall remedy has introduced a dangerous, debilitating safety flaw to the vehicle's primary powertrain loop.

8/3/26 at 0003 I received a message from the ford app that remote features were disabled to preserve battery. My truck would not turn on when I tried to start it, it was completely dead so then I got it jumped. At 1302 I received an error message for powertrain malfunction/ reduced power there was also a warning lamp for service on the dash. I brought the truck in today for service and waiting to hear back. The truck has roughly 3500 miles and I bought it new in april 2026, I drive daily and drove it the night before and did not have any issues. I did some research online and saw information for class action law suits for previous years on the maverick as well as people with similar issues. Inspection upon request would be available. My safety could have been put at risk if the battery died on the roadway causing a safety issue to myself or other motorists.

"This is a formal complaint for an Inadequate Recall Remedy and severe Consequential Damage regarding NHTSA Campaign #24V684000 (Ford Recall 24S59) on my 2024 Ford Maverick XL (65,000 miles, VIN: [XXX]).The official safety recall update was originally performed at 30,000 miles by a Ford mobile service unit, but the remedy completely failed. The Audio Control Module software remains corrupted, causing a severe intermittent parasitic drain. The radio frequently locks up, and roughly once a week, it remains actively powered on for 10 minutes after the ignition is turned off, keys are removed, and doors are locked. This has permanently destroyed my 12-volt battery, forcing me to rely on a trickle charger daily. On XXX, I took the truck to Mt. Orab Ford (Ohio) under Invoice #XXX for a separate recall (Ford 26C10). They completed the hitch recall but explicitly refused to address the failed safety recall 24S59 or the resulting battery damage. The official invoice they handed me falsely logs line item B as 'GBATT BATTERY TESTED GREEN AT THIS TIME.' However, I forced the Service Manager, Kevin Wilmoth, to physically verify the battery in the parking lot. The handheld tester printout he handed me directly contradicts their official invoice, explicitly stating 'GOOD RECHARGE' with a resting voltage of only 12.16V and a 45% State of Charge. A healthy 12V battery should rest between 12.6V and 12.8V; at 12.16V with a 45% charge, the system is severely drained and starved for power. The dealership printed 'Tested Green' on the invoice before actually testing it, and Kevin Wilmoth has since refused my email request for copies of the vehicle's OASIS history and FDRS global diagnostic logs to withhold the electronic record of these faults.Contacted Ford Corp., given a claim #, promised call back in 24hrs.completely failed to respond, leaving me stranded with a severe, un-remedied safety hazard. NHTSA complaint #11752718 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.
12 volt electrical system no power. Dealer changed battery cable wiring harness. Received vehicle back. One week later vehicle exhibited no 12 volt power. Informed that it could be the Thinkware dash cam. Which was purchased from Ford and Ford dealer installed. Now informed that it could be the dash cam itself. The dash cam was installed via the OBD port which is always powered. This will drain the 12 volt battery unless vehicle is driven for extended periods. Ford is aware of the issue but no remedy for over 3 weeks. I have told the Ford dealer to have the dash cam installed so that when the ignition is on the dash cam is also powered on and off when the ignition switch is turned off. Using this method negates the parking mode on the dash cam. Another issue is when the drivers side door is opened the interior lights do not activate. Ford notified. Problem not resolved. Low 12 volt battery issue?
NHTSA complaint #11745446 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.
12-Volt battery gets extremely hot and gives off invisible fumes. Model number is BAGM-H14. Vehicle was towed to dealership for diagnostic evaluation. Also, dashboard shows various warning messages. Battery could not be charged, plus does not maintain charge.
NHTSA complaint #11745184 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.
While driving at highway speed on I-275with cruise control engaged on afternoon of June 11 the truck suddenly began slowing down. I couldn't get it to accelerate. I ultimately had to get over two lanes and still had enough momentum to get off an exit ramp. At the end of the ramp, I noticed I was unable to get the truck to accelerate from a stopped position either. Only then did I notice the dial transmission had moved to N from D. I did not initiate this move while I was on the highway, nor was I aware of it, nor do I believe I bumped the dial. This is the second time this has happened. Previously it occurred some time in late 2025 in a store parking lot. At highway speeds, this is extremely dangerous.
NHTSA complaint #11744383 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.
While driving at normal speeds. Car completely stopped working. Dashboard flashed to get to safe area. I could not shift the car neutral. Steering became stiff. The lights and infotainment was still on but the car had no power to accelerate. Had this been on the highway I would have been in a collision since my car went to the right very quick. Once car was stopped could not shift to neutral.
NHTSA complaint #11743262 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.
Receiving daily Battery Saver Mode notices telling me some remote features including lock/unlock may temporarily be unavailable. Not to use my AC and go for longer rides, which I have done with no change. My interior lights are not coming on. My radio powers off and on while driving. Constant clicking and noises come from the vehicle when turned off. Difficulties starting the vehicle at times. Feel power losses when driving and accelerating, feel like I could be rear ended when this happens. In doing some online research, I am clearly not alone in this issue, when I contacted Ford and the dealership they both acted as if this is not a current issue and I would have to it inspected by a Ford dealership with no guarantee that the inspection would be covered. I found a recall 24S24 that sounds like my exact issue, yet they say it's not been authorized for my vehicle.
NHTSA complaint #11741803 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.
My 2024 Ford Maverick (VIN [XXX] ) has had three sudden losses of drive power while driving. Each time the accelerator stopped delivering power with NO warning lights, no error messages, and no dashboard indicators before, during, or after. Each time I pulled over, shut off the vehicle, and restarting fully restored normal function. Incident 1 — Aug 2024, two-lane highway, New Mexico. Clear, ~80°F, light traffic, ~60 mph. Accelerator suddenly lost power, no indicators. Pulled to shoulder; restart restored function. Incident 2 — XXX, ~6:10 PM, XXX northbound on-ramp from [XXX] . While accelerating up the ramp to merge, power cut out — same behavior, no warnings. Pulled over; restart restored function. Incident 3 —XXX, ~8:05 AM, [XXX] . Slowed for a turn; no power when I accelerated out. Same signature. These symptoms are identical to NHTSA Recall 24V-267 (Ford 24S24) — loss of motive power from the BCM/PCM failing to detect 12V battery degradation — and the follow-on battery recall 25V-158 (Ford 25S26). My vehicle is a 2024 Maverick and is NOT included in 24V-267, which Ford limited to 2022-2023 Mavericks built Feb 2021–Oct 2022. I am reporting because my 2024 shows the identical failure mode, including the total absence of warning before power loss, matching the owner reports that prompted Recall Query RQ24014 into the adequacy of the 24V-267 remedy. I request NHTSA consider whether the affected population should include model year 2024 Mavericks. These events are recurring and have occurred at highway speed and while merging, creating a serious crash risk. I have been having issues with the vehicles audio speakers for a few months now, having random momentary bursts of full volume static noise, as well as sometimes consistent static noise that doesn’t stop for up to 30 mins even after the vehicle is turned off. On 5/21/26 this happened once again, turning vehicle off didn’t work. The static sound stayed playing even after the truck was turned off completely. I proceeded on my route to my destination when I smelled electrical burning smell, suddenly the front left driver speaker on the dashboard sparked and saw small flash of flames and smoke started rolling from the speaker itself. The sound of static continued and the smoke kept going for about 10 mins before the speaker stopped and then the smoke stopped. I towed the vehicle to the ford dealership where I bought it brand new last year, they are currently evaluating it to see what happened and if it is a manufacture issues. None of The speakers or any other part of this vehicle has been altered in any way at all, no aftermarket parts, of anything. Original OEM. Alll prior recalls are up to date, I was not hurt thankfully. Online there is other reports of speaker and sound amp issues with this model but see no recalls on it.

Truck has stalled out multiple times, has been left in middle or road due to electrical drainage of battery. Person needed to get jumper cables to move truck.
NHTSA complaint #11738075 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.
The contact owns a 2022 Ford Maverick. The contact stated that while her husband was driving 55-65 MPH, the vehicle shut off. The driver was unable to pull over to the side of the road. The driver was able to jumpstart the vehicle and continued driving. The contact stated that the failure recurred while pulling into a parking lot. The dealer was contacted and informed the contact that the vehicle could not be picked up due to safety concerns. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed, and determined that a new 12-Volt battery cable overlay was needed, and the current battery cable needed to be disabled. The dealer related the failure to the Ford Customer Satisfaction Program: 22B39 (2022 Maverick HEV No Start Condition), but the contact was informed that the Customer Satisfaction Program had expired. The vehicle was not repaired due to the cost. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but denied assistance. The failure mileage was 80,000.

Just picked up vehicle after having a new battery installed. Was getting pop up on dashboard every few seconds that electrical saving mode was active. Then all of a sudden the truck shut off while driving about 45 mph on a busy road. Dash said switch to neutral to start vehicle which i tried but nothing happened. Truck coasted to a stop and would not start or even shift into neutral to push it off of the road. The dashboard was flashing pretty much every warning possible including stop safety, shift system failure, parking brake , battery saver active etc. The truck continued to not start or shift. Tow truck was called and it was towed home.

My 2022 ford Maverick is constantly sometimes several times a day and sometimes several times a week , but since 6 weeks after purchase I have been getting powertrain fault , engine fault and hybrid battery fault alerts from my ford pass my check engine light comes on my s service wrench light comes on also and my vehicle has reduced power. As well as my battery is constantly needing to be jumped. The dealership says my Battery is fine although I’ve already replaced it twice at my exspence. I’ve had to pay for diagnostics and pcm updates supposedly to fix these problems but no resolve. My vehicle goes into reduced power while driving 75 mph up the interstate and will not excellerate causeing the vehicle to coast to a stop. After sitting a while it can be started and driven. Today I received all three faults at 10:20 am so I went to my ford.com and done a health check and it says my vehicle is healthy with no engine or power train faults. But my ford pass alerts , my dashboard warning lights , and the performance of my vehicle says otherwise. I have been put in many situations on high speed roads and my vehicle will not accelerate. Often times it is necessary to jump my battery for I can move my vehicle. These issues are a constant safety hazard to all the drivers on the road when a vehicle suddenly loses power at high speeds. After 4 years of fighting with ford for a resolve I need help. I have seen numerous recalls issued addressing these very issues but they are not issued for my vin although the data on the recall states the recall pertains to vehicles made at the hermacillo Mexico plant . Which mine was on Dec 2021. I feel like my vin somehow is being overlooked and I’m not recieving the recall for the repairs. I also believe that due to the electrical issue my truck can not retain the obd codes. I have taken my vehicle to several dealerships all telling me different resolve which I pay for and no resolve. Please help

I received the 2022 Hybrid Ford Maverck XLT on March 2023, and had first 12V battery replacement on August 2023 as it was dysfunctional leading to car stalling. On 01/11/2026, the truck suddenly got stalled during drive due to the dysfunction (8.0V) again of the 12V battery, which triggered several error codes. The 12V battery was replaced again on 01/12/2026. I drove the truck home and found later that system alert with "Electrical Power Saver Active". The truck stalled again on 01/13/2026 at traffic light near school zone. The police had the truck towed to Tire Express per SOP. The truck was then diagnosed at local Ford dealer as: "multiple accessory / entertainment modules have software level that may be contributing to 12V battery drain / degredation". Obviously, this is the truck defect can may pose catastrophic risk to driver and surrounding drivers. I searched Google and found more 2022 Maverick with such serious issue! My total cost of repair and towing from this defect is $1145.11. Thank God that my family was safe during the sudden stalling while driving. I know there is no such recall but Ford should be responsible for the recall to avoid future risks and paying off my cost. Please consider this as a recall! Thank you!!!
NHTSA complaint #11712577 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.
Shortly after purchase, my 2025 Ford Maverick Hybrid AWD experienced a sudden and severe electrical burning or melting odor while driving at freeway speed (approximately 75 mph). The odor was extremely strong and clearly coming from my vehicle. At the same time, the vehicle produced a loud, continuous whirring or growling noise and experienced a sudden loss of power, as if under heavy load or braking. I exited the freeway as soon as safely possible. No visible smoke or fire was observed, but the odor raised serious concern for overheating electrical or hybrid drivetrain components Since the initial incident, the vehicle has experienced multiple similar but less severe events, including intermittent electrical odors, abnormal hybrid noises, hesitation or lag when switching between electric and gasoline operation, and a significant and permanent reduction in fuel economy. The vehicle has been taken to a Ford dealership multiple times for inspection. I requested inspection for signs of overheating or electrical damage. No diagnostic trouble codes were found and the vehicle was returned without repair. I am concerned this condition may involve overheating or failure of hybrid or electrical drivetrain components, such as the inverter, electric motor, or wiring, which may not immediately trigger diagnostic trouble codes but could pose a safety risk. I am also aware of other 2025 Ford Maverick Hybrid owners reporting similar electrical odors, abnormal hybrid noises, and power loss symptoms in public owner forums, suggesting this may not be an isolated incident. I am submitting this complaint to document a potential safety-related defect involving overheating or electrical failure in the hybrid drivetrain system.
NHTSA complaint #11705804 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.
My 2022 hybrid Maverick suddenly lost power as I was driving at 45 MPH. There was no warning lights; the entire dashboard went black. I lost all power including lights, speedometer, and power steering. Additionally, and more concerning, I lost all brake functionality so I could not stop the vehicle, even pressing the brake very hard. The parking brake switch also did not work due to the power loss. The brake pedal would not budge until suddenly after the vehicle completely lost all momentum. In the process blew through a stop sign and I could've easily been killed, or worse, killed other people as I had no control of the vehicle as it coasted. Thankfully nobody and nothing else was harmed as I was the only one on the road, it was just traumatic. The vehicle was towed to the dealer and preliminarily inspected. They decided they want to address a technical safety bulletin for a "no start condition", though the conditions did not match this situation exactly. But they also stated the hybrid/powertrain warranties did not apply, so I rejected the repair due to high cost. It is uncertain if the repair they want to do would fix the issue. It is currently available for inspection upon request, though Ford may try to buy it back soon. It has not been inspected by police or insurance. The only light I can think of was a month before I saw a brief "Charging System Service Soon" warning, but it was only on momentarily (did not persist). I am unsure if this is related.

On November 9th, the vehicle became undrivable with the following alerts: "Stop safely now", "Pre-collision assist not available", "Check Brake System", "Front Camera Temporarily not available", "service vehicle soon", "service advance trac", "hill start assist not available" The accelerator was non-functional; however, when releasing the brake pedal the vehicle starts to accelerate, without pressing the accelerator. Dealer said they are unable to reproduce the event. This is the second time this has occurred with this vehicle, previously submitted complaint on this same VIN.
