"This is a formal complaint for an Inadequate Recall Remedy and severe Consequential Damage regarding NHTSA Campaign #24V684000 (Ford Recall 24S59) on my 2024 Ford Maverick XL (65,000 miles, VIN: [XXX]).The official safety recall update was originally performed at 30,000 miles by a Ford mobile service unit, but the remedy completely failed. The Audio Control Module software remains corrupted, causing a severe intermittent parasitic drain. The radio frequently locks up, and roughly once a week, it remains actively powered on for 10 minutes after the ignition is turned off, keys are removed, and doors are locked. This has permanently destroyed my 12-volt battery, forcing me to rely on a trickle charger daily. On XXX, I took the truck to Mt. Orab Ford (Ohio) under Invoice #XXX for a separate recall (Ford 26C10). They completed the hitch recall but explicitly refused to address the failed safety recall 24S59 or the resulting battery damage. The official invoice they handed me falsely logs line item B as 'GBATT BATTERY TESTED GREEN AT THIS TIME.' However, I forced the Service Manager, Kevin Wilmoth, to physically verify the battery in the parking lot. The handheld tester printout he handed me directly contradicts their official invoice, explicitly stating 'GOOD RECHARGE' with a resting voltage of only 12.16V and a 45% State of Charge. A healthy 12V battery should rest between 12.6V and 12.8V; at 12.16V with a 45% charge, the system is severely drained and starved for power. The dealership printed 'Tested Green' on the invoice before actually testing it, and Kevin Wilmoth has since refused my email request for copies of the vehicle's OASIS history and FDRS global diagnostic logs to withhold the electronic record of these faults.Contacted Ford Corp., given a claim #, promised call back in 24hrs.completely failed to respond, leaving me stranded with a severe, un-remedied safety hazard. Driving on highway, approximately 65mph when all of a sudden the "door ajar" symbol on instrument panel lit / sound dinged, and the passenger who had their elbow on the door screamed. The passenger side door unlocked and "opened" as in it unlatched. It did not open all the way for her to fall out, but it was no longer fully closed. This is a 2022 vehicle. This happened for the first time in 2026 after 34k miles. There is an active recall for the same make / model but for some reason my VIN is not included. I'm pretty sure it should be after this experience.

This vehicle has chronic clicking when turning , when taken to a mechnanic i was informed the CV Axles both were torn and that it was a common issue for the 22 ford mavericks and they issue replacements for free. However when it comes to this they don’t cover it. The issue is still present and left untreated could be a dangerous issue.

I received the 2022 Hybrid Ford Maverck XLT on March 2023, and had first 12V battery replacement on August 2023 as it was dysfunctional leading to car stalling. On 01/11/2026, the truck suddenly got stalled during drive due to the dysfunction (8.0V) again of the 12V battery, which triggered several error codes. The 12V battery was replaced again on 01/12/2026. I drove the truck home and found later that system alert with "Electrical Power Saver Active". The truck stalled again on 01/13/2026 at traffic light near school zone. The police had the truck towed to Tire Express per SOP. The truck was then diagnosed at local Ford dealer as: "multiple accessory / entertainment modules have software level that may be contributing to 12V battery drain / degredation". Obviously, this is the truck defect can may pose catastrophic risk to driver and surrounding drivers. I searched Google and found more 2022 Maverick with such serious issue! My total cost of repair and towing from this defect is $1145.11. Thank God that my family was safe during the sudden stalling while driving. I know there is no such recall but Ford should be responsible for the recall to avoid future risks and paying off my cost. Please consider this as a recall! Thank you!!!

The 2022 Ford Maverick repeatedly experiences complete electrical system failures, including engine shutdown, loss of power steering, brakes, and the electronic parking brake, while driving at highway speeds, resulting in total loss of vehicle control and creating a life-threatening situation for the driver, passengers, and others on the road; prior warning signs included the 12-volt battery not staying charged and intermittent total electrical power loss, and while no warning lamps indicated imminent failure, the issue was reproduced and documented by a dealership that replaced the battery, performed a BCM relearn, and applied a software update, yet the problem persisted, leaving the vehicle undriveable and unsafe, requiring repeated jump-starts, and demonstrating a fundamental defect in the electrical and control systems; the vehicle is currently scheduled for further warranty diagnostics at a second dealership, and because prior warranty repairs failed to correct this repeat, safety-critical, and life-threatening defect, I request immediate manufacturer investigation, full warranty coverage, and evaluation for vehicle replacement under applicable Lemon Law or consumer protection remedies, as the repeated failure places lives at risk and the vehicle cannot be safely operated until fully corrected.

Vehicle information: Ford Maverick 2023 Hybrid, with roughly 37,000 miles, observed failure on [XXX]. The failed component/system is the A/C evaporator condensation drain system. The drain line became clogged, which I believe is a critical defect in either the design, component, or construction of the drainage system. The lack of a fail-safe in this system, instead of draining water outside of the vehicle, the condensation backed up and leaked directly into the vehicle's cabin onto the driver and passenger side footwells. The vehicle is currently at the dealership (Windward Ford), undergoing diagnosis/repair, and available for inspection upon request. The pooling of a large volume of water on both the driver and passenger side floorboards to include the path of where the water originates as it collects at the footwell, creates an unreasonable risk of safety failure due to the proximity of critical electrical systems; fire/short circuit risk, loss of vehicle control due to damage to electronic modules from water intrusion, as well as health hazard with prolonged saturation of pores material resulting to mold and mildew growth. The issue has been reproduced at the dealership (Windward Ford), and confirmed that the issue is an A/C evaporator drain clog, causing the leak, and the carpet and interior padding were saturated, requiring extensive cleaning and replacement. The failed component/system has been inspected by technicians at the dealership. The diagnosis and repair estimates are on file with the dealership. There were no warning lamp indicators or messages, just the damped smell, which was noticed a few weeks prior to the visual indicator of a water puddle in the floorboard. The odor is a direct result of the ongoing, hidden water leak and saturation of the carpet, indicating a slow, chronic problem caused by the defect. On sept6,2025 while driving on highway at 65mph truck went into limp mode so you could not accelerate although trying to and the speed of the truck decreased. Had to pull off to berm of road for safety. Turned truck of and it appeared to reset itself and there were No Warning lights on dashboard when this occurred. This could have been a deadly accident if I wasn't able to get off on berm as quickly as I did! Vehicle will be scheduled with dealer this week! But this is an ongoing problem as stated in Ford maverick community website.

While driving around 50MPH my vehicle started to lose engine power going down to 40, then 30, then 20MPH. I had to pull into a break down lane and at the next exit I managed to make it to a Ford Dealership called Flood Ford in Narragansett, R. I. This may be related to NHTSA safety recall number: 24S24 from May 2024. This happened yesterday [XXX] around [XXX]. This is the 2nd time it has happened as it happened another time on [XXX] in North Carolina and it ended up at Huntersville Ford. The dealership in Rhode Island won’t be able to put a diagnostic tool on my truck until Monday August 25th so I’ll be without a car for 6 days. 2023 Ford Maverick Hybrid La Marque, TX

At approximately 37,000 miles, the CV axles on my 2023 Ford Maverick Hybrid required replacement due to premature wear. Now, at around 62,200 miles, the vehicle is experiencing excessive vibration and shaking during acceleration, particularly noticeable at moderate to high speeds. This issue appears to be related to the powertrain or suspension system and may indicate a recurring or unresolved problem with the CV axles or associated components. The vibrations are severe enough to affect vehicle control, especially during lane changes or merging onto highways. When accelerating to merge into highway traffic, the vehicle shakes and vibrates so profusely that it feels like the car is going to shake apart. This makes it difficult to accelerate normally and safely, putting both the driver and surrounding vehicles at risk. The shaking could lead to loss of traction or steering instability, increasing the likelihood of an accident. This issue has been widely reported by other Ford Maverick owners and has been a frequently discussed problem in forums and owner communities for over a year. Despite its prevalence, there appears to be no long-term fix other than replacing the CV axle assembly with the same OEM part, which may be the root cause of the problem. That is why I feel it is important to bring this to your attention — it is a known issue with no real correction, and it continues to affect vehicle safety. No warning lights or messages appeared prior to the onset of the problem. The component is available for inspection upon request.

I was flat towing the vehicle behind a motorcoach. I pulled off the interstate and made a gradual left turn. The maverick started to violently wobble. Pulled off to the side of road and could not tell if anything was wrong. Spent the night at a campground. Next morning I had a steering assist warning come up.

Truck is draining its battery after sitting in a downtime period. (6-12 hours) leaving me stranded. This has happened more than 20 times since 12/26/2024. I DO HAVE INFORMATION TO SUBMIT FOR SHOP (VISITS), HOWEVER AT THE TIME I AM FILLING THIS OUT I HAVE NO WAY TO ENTER THAT INFORMATION HERE. THE SHOP HAS HAD THE VEHICLE MULTIPLE TIMES AT THE LONGEST 20days STRAIGHT, UNKNOWN HOW MANY DAYS TOTAL. Most of the shop visits concluded with either battery charges OR battery changes. I have been told by Ford Dealership Maintenance Shop many times they have no idea what is going on with the vehicle. I have digital proof from the Ford app when this happens. My concern is that I have noticed that Ford is removing Digital information off of the app that supports my case. ALSO, They have started to “lose my paper work” when I go to pick up my vehicle from their shop. My vehicle has ONLY been to the dealership shop where I purchased it.

Windshield cracks. First happened in 2024, nothing hitting the windshield, it cracked. The crack spread and required an entire new windshield that was not covered by any warranty. While moving 60 mph, my curious toddler (fortunately from the safety of a 5 point harness car seat) decided to try to open the rear passenger door & was alarmingly successful in doing so. We pulled over & engaged the child safety lock on that door so it wouldn't happen again but made a point to test the feature as we accelerated to 60 mph again. While all the locks engaged right after we started moving again, the front passenger door automatically unlocked when my spouse tried the door handle. We repeated this action a handful of times & also checked the vehicle settings to confirm the automatic locks were enabled. She even attempted to press the unlock button at one point before trying the handle, but the button produced no click sound. The lock/unlock buttons are disabled, as they should be, while the vehicle is in motion. But the handles should not work either. The vehicle's first state safety inspection was completed on the date of purchase at the dealership the day before this happened.
