2023 Ford Maverick Hybrid Asheville, NC

POWER TRAIN

At around 27K miles the two front CV axles began to fail. I brought it to the Ford dealership and they confirmed that both needed to be replaced. It was a $1600 repair. There have been a lot of complaints from Ford Maverick owners who have had CV axle failures at very low miles on their vehicles. These parts typically last 100K to 150K miles and it's not unusual for them to last the lifetime of the vehicle. There is no reason both front CV axles should be failing with 27K miles on a vehicle. This should be covered by a recall.

Significant disruptive vibration upon acceleration at high speeds due to premature failure of front CV Axles. Confirmed failure of both axles by manufacturer at approximately 61,000 miles.

POWER TRAIN

12 volt electrical system no power. Dealer changed battery cable wiring harness. Received vehicle back. One week later vehicle exhibited no 12 volt power. Informed that it could be the Thinkware dash cam. Which was purchased from Ford and Ford dealer installed. Now informed that it could be the dash cam itself. The dash cam was installed via the OBD port which is always powered. This will drain the 12 volt battery unless vehicle is driven for extended periods. Ford is aware of the issue but no remedy for over 3 weeks. I have told the Ford dealer to have the dash cam installed so that when the ignition is on the dash cam is also powered on and off when the ignition switch is turned off. Using this method negates the parking mode on the dash cam. Another issue is when the drivers side door is opened the interior lights do not activate. Ford notified. Problem not resolved. Low 12 volt battery issue?

POWER TRAIN

While driving at highway speed on I-275with cruise control engaged on afternoon of June 11 the truck suddenly began slowing down. I couldn't get it to accelerate. I ultimately had to get over two lanes and still had enough momentum to get off an exit ramp. At the end of the ramp, I noticed I was unable to get the truck to accelerate from a stopped position either. Only then did I notice the dial transmission had moved to N from D. I did not initiate this move while I was on the highway, nor was I aware of it, nor do I believe I bumped the dial. This is the second time this has happened. Previously it occurred some time in late 2025 in a store parking lot. At highway speeds, this is extremely dangerous.

2025 Ford Maverick Hybrid San Diego, CA

POWER TRAIN

The car has extreme vibration almost like speed wobbles when accelerating. Difficult to steer particularly if accelerating to change lanes. Appears the cv axles / have gone bad. Shocked there is not an active recall for the 2023 model year given the amount of reports of similar issue I have found online.

2024 Ford Maverick Hybrid Oronogo, MO

POWER TRAIN

SENCE PURCHACED the truck has a tie rod rattle, I have spoken to dealership and was informed no issue found. But as of late Vehicle wobbles very harshly when execrating or pulling away from stop signs passing another vehicle. Turns out it's a VERY common CV axle issue that the dealership doesn't have any sort of recall on. Feels very very unsafe to drive and its disappointing to see so many other drivers with the exact same issue with the tie rod ends. Now a recall on some of the mavericks suspension AKA tie rod installed wrong/ defective with a DO NOT DRIVE WARNING?

2024 Ford Maverick Hybrid Vancouver, WA

POWER TRAIN

My 2024 Ford Maverick (VIN [XXX] ) has had three sudden losses of drive power while driving. Each time the accelerator stopped delivering power with NO warning lights, no error messages, and no dashboard indicators before, during, or after. Each time I pulled over, shut off the vehicle, and restarting fully restored normal function. Incident 1 — Aug 2024, two-lane highway, New Mexico. Clear, ~80°F, light traffic, ~60 mph. Accelerator suddenly lost power, no indicators. Pulled to shoulder; restart restored function. Incident 2 — XXX, ~6:10 PM, XXX northbound on-ramp from [XXX] . While accelerating up the ramp to merge, power cut out — same behavior, no warnings. Pulled over; restart restored function. Incident 3 —XXX, ~8:05 AM, [XXX] . Slowed for a turn; no power when I accelerated out. Same signature. These symptoms are identical to NHTSA Recall 24V-267 (Ford 24S24) — loss of motive power from the BCM/PCM failing to detect 12V battery degradation — and the follow-on battery recall 25V-158 (Ford 25S26). My vehicle is a 2024 Maverick and is NOT included in 24V-267, which Ford limited to 2022-2023 Mavericks built Feb 2021–Oct 2022. I am reporting because my 2024 shows the identical failure mode, including the total absence of warning before power loss, matching the owner reports that prompted Recall Query RQ24014 into the adequacy of the 24V-267 remedy. I request NHTSA consider whether the affected population should include model year 2024 Mavericks. These events are recurring and have occurred at highway speed and while merging, creating a serious crash risk. 2023 Ford Maverick Hybrid Irving, TX

POWER TRAIN

Eninge started knocking, flashed warnings to pull over immediately. I did and had the vehicle towed to Westway Ford in Irving. Their investigation showed the engine needs a full rebuild and they are claiming it is not covered under warranty. They shared pictures & a written repair estimate. Doing an analysis of the pictures they took and their description of what happened, combined with what I experienced and observed, this appears to be a textbook case of the behavior and outcome of the mechanical failure described in recall 23S27.

2023 Ford Maverick Hybrid Bush, LA

POWER TRAIN

While driving the vehicle at low speed (roughy 25mph) a loud sqeek was heard. This occured a few more times so I stopped to inspect. I countinued my trip after not finding the source of the noise. When it occured again, I pulled into a parts store and had them run codes. After finding none I purchased a code scanner so that I could monitor while under way. Once on the highway the sound became more frequent, after just a few miles warning lights appeared on my dash and the vehicle had a complete loss of power. I was able to coast to the side of the road. At that time the vehicle did have code P1061. Dealer diagnosted the truck with a failed transmission. I removed the trasmission and disassembled it. The main shaft had been stripped of it's splines on the gear that connects to the engine. I have a video of the gears and shaft here: [XXX] I saved the parts and will be happy to provide them for investigation if needed. 2023 Ford Maverick Hybrid Manteca, CA

POWER TRAIN

Both front CV axles on my 2023 Ford Maverick Hybrid are failing at approximately 60,000 miles. The vehicle experiences violent shaking and vibration during acceleration, most noticeably at speeds above 30 mph and on inclines. The shaking is severe enough to affect steering control and reduce driver confidence, particularly during highway merging and uphill acceleration. The problem was diagnosed and confirmed by San Leandro Ford dealership, which identified both front CV axles as defective and in need of replacement. No warning lamps or message appeared prior to or during the issue. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. This appears to be a widespread manufacturing defect. Numerous owners of 2022-2023 Ford Mavericks have reported identical premature CV axle failures at mileages ranging from 10,000 to 60,000 miles, as documented in online forums and prior NHTSA complaints. Some owners have had axles replaced multiple times. The defective CV axles pose a safety risk as the severe vibration compromises vehicle control during normal driving conditions.

Over the past 1-1/2 years I have experienced my transmission going into neutral and loss of power 4 times. The first time it happened I thought my hand hit the shifter and moved it into neutral. After a few more incidents and seeing the recall, I realized this was the cause of the issue. I noticed the NHTSA website has recall number 25V881000. Today I contacted Ford Motor Company regarding this recall and they do not show it against my 2024 Ford Maverick Hybrid. I have experienced the problem as indicated below and have not received a recall letter on this. Was my VIN left out of this recall? My 2022 ford Maverick is constantly sometimes several times a day and sometimes several times a week , but since 6 weeks after purchase I have been getting powertrain fault , engine fault and hybrid battery fault alerts from my ford pass my check engine light comes on my s service wrench light comes on also and my vehicle has reduced power. As well as my battery is constantly needing to be jumped. The dealership says my Battery is fine although I’ve already replaced it twice at my exspence. I’ve had to pay for diagnostics and pcm updates supposedly to fix these problems but no resolve. My vehicle goes into reduced power while driving 75 mph up the interstate and will not excellerate causeing the vehicle to coast to a stop. After sitting a while it can be started and driven. Today I received all three faults at 10:20 am so I went to my ford.com and done a health check and it says my vehicle is healthy with no engine or power train faults. But my ford pass alerts , my dashboard warning lights , and the performance of my vehicle says otherwise. I have been put in many situations on high speed roads and my vehicle will not accelerate. Often times it is necessary to jump my battery for I can move my vehicle. These issues are a constant safety hazard to all the drivers on the road when a vehicle suddenly loses power at high speeds. After 4 years of fighting with ford for a resolve I need help. I have seen numerous recalls issued addressing these very issues but they are not issued for my vin although the data on the recall states the recall pertains to vehicles made at the hermacillo Mexico plant . Which mine was on Dec 2021. I feel like my vin somehow is being overlooked and I’m not recieving the recall for the repairs. I also believe that due to the electrical issue my truck can not retain the obd codes. I have taken my vehicle to several dealerships all telling me different resolve which I pay for and no resolve. Please help

Experienced excessive wobbling/shaking during acceleration. Ford replaced both axles at 38K miles. 30K miles later I am experiencing same issue. Replacing axles this frequent is abnormal and is an indicator that parts being used are not meeting the requirements needed for this vehicle.

POWER TRAIN

While driving highway speeds the vehicle suddenly lost power. Had to immediately pull to the shoulder of the highway with heavy traffic that got very close to my rear bumper due to the sudden decrease in speed. There was no advance warning of power loss. Upon stopping on the shoulder the vehicle was put in park and the key turned to the off position. After a short wait the ignition key was turned to the on position and was able to resume trip at highway speeds. Notified Ford close to my location and it was checked for fault codes and road tested with no defect found., Now concerned that the vehicle might fail again day or night leaving us stranded or causing a vehicle accident due to the sudden reduction in speed.

2023 Ford Maverick Hybrid Indialantic, FL

POWER TRAIN

I am reporting a premature and dangerous failure of the front CV (Constant Velocity) axle assembly on my 2023 Ford Maverick. While driving at 50 mph the vehicle began experiencing violent, uncontrollable shaking and shuddering in the front end, particularly under acceleration. This is an issue which affects all Mavericks for this model year. Ford has recalled/reimbursed replacements for the 2022 model year but not other ones yet. This failure causes significant instability and compromises steering control, creating a high risk of a crash when merging into traffic or maintaining highway speeds. The vibration is severe enough to distract the driver and could lead to a total loss of motive power if the axle snaps or the joint fully separates.

When driving at higher speeds (60-70mph) and needing to pass another vehicle the clutch slips which triggers the accelerator to shut down. Leaving you helpless in the passing lane. All you can do is hope there is space to safely pull off the road and shut the engine off. This puts it in limp mode.
