I purchased a 2018 Honda Odyssey and reported during my 7-day inspection window that the transmission was acting sluggish. The Carvana-authorized inspection service (Pep Boys) claimed the transmission was fine. Over time it showed more and more signs of failure until it completely failed. On the directive of the seller (Carvana) and warranty administrator (SilverRock), the vehicle was taken to an authorized Pep Boys facility for a complete transmission replacement. Less than two days after picking up the vehicle, the replacement transmission suffered a complete failure on a public roadway. The vehicle suddenly lost all acceleration and forced itself into 'limp mode' on a highway, and loss of steering control, nearly causing a severe collision. The vehicle is inherently unsafe, and the authorized repair network has failed to provide a merchantable or safe repair, creating an immediate life-threatening hazard.

While driving straight on the highway on a sunny day the car left the lane on it's own, resisted attempts to get it back into the lane, and crashed into the concrete barrier after we swerved around and the car bounced around. Lane keeping assistance and automatic cruise control were active. The lane lines looked perfectly fine. A couple minutes before the accident the car left the lane unexpectedly but we were able to get back into it. Before going on the trip we took the car to the dealer and complained about issues with the car not starting after it shut off while idle at stop lights, or not starting properly, like engaging the parking brake and getting stuck, or starting and rocketing forward even when I only pressed lightly on the gas, leading to loss of traction. They checked the car and said everything looks fine and the tires have 5mm of tread and don't need to be replaced, and they rotated the tires and changed the engine oil. I'm not sure if the issue was with the power steering failing, or traction being lost, or the sensors having an issue causing the car to think the lane was somewhere else and not letting us leave where it thought the lane was. Driver has tons of bruises still and it's been over a week. The other 4 passengers seem ok. The insurance company said the car is totaled and is taking possession of the car. The only warnings lights or messages the car gave us before the accident were about the car having an issue starting back up when all the cars were beeping behind us when the light turned green, and messages about loss of traction, mainly after the engine started back up.

Engine will fail to start when shut off to stop light or when shut off at anytime when engine is hot. Very dangerous situation. Acts like starter is dragging. There is a clunking in the steering column when making a turn mainly to the left that can be felt in the steering wheel. Driver seat is splitting open on the side. Noise coming from front driver side suspension or steering column/components. The noise is very light, but sounds like a clunking/rattle and can be felt through the steering wheel. It is intermittent. Because I am unsure what is actually causing the noise, I cannot state whether it is actually part of the suspension system or steering column area. The dealership cannot replicate the noise, so it has been turned away twice now. Does not feel safe. Searching other odyssey forums, it is something that is reproduced by others who have bought a 2025-2026 Honda odyssey.

I have a 2025 honda odyssey, I bought mine with 2 miles on it, it was rhe first vehicle ive owned that was new so we had something safe and reliable and this has been far from it. So far we have had 1.The USB port not working in the center console 2.Battery was draining and it was struggling to start, died at lights and barely turned back on 3. Door sensor on passenger side kept saying it was open when it wasnt 4. Air barely working 5. Wind sound whipping through the driver side 6. Raining in to the vehicle on the passenger side 7. Screen barely works, sometimes it takes forever to turn on sometimes it just wont switch or load or it just stays on a black screen 8. After taking it for the who knows how many times for the popping sound they deemed the steering column unsafe to drive and replaced that and they had the vehicle for almost a month because they couldn't get the parts, in that time they even admitted they felt the transmission issues 9. Starter was replaced after complaining for months about it dying at lights or stops and it being rough to start 10. Popping sound from the axle when you go over anything or turn the wheel 11. Back passenger door wont shut it just keeps popping back open 12. Doors dont lock when you walk away 13. Passenger doors will unlock but driver side doesn't 14. The passenger door got stuck and we had to crawl through and push it open 15. Transmission gets stuck and wont go over 30 and the rpms go up but the speed doesn't move, it shifts hard and makes a thud sound, and the engine is crazy loud 16. Has a crazy vibration coming from it 17. Will brake on its own with nothing around it 18. Was switching to sport mode on its own in the middle of driving 19. While driving on a clear road, with or without heavy traffic, the collision mitigation warning shows up on the dashboard display. Sometimes the warning for the collision system goes off and the system tries to brake and jerk the wheel. If I have the wheel firmly I can correct it and it resolves. It can happen on a clear road with no one around or in heavy traffic. Yesterday it happened in a single lane with barriers on both sides, a road around Logan Airport in Boston, with no vehicles ahead of me. The car tried to steer me into the barrier. I was doing less than 25 MPH. The warning had been going off for a while but now that the steering and braking are involved it’s much more serious. I reported it to the dealer. They said they did a system check and couldn’t find a fault. The braking and steering problem first occurred about a month ago. The warning by itself has been happening intermittently for over a year. This happens even when the collision mitigation system is turned OFF. This is a terribly unsafe issue. If my wife had been driving I don’t know if she could have corrected. PLEASE ACT AND ISSUE A RECALL!

What happened? While driving my 2025 Honda Odyssey, the engine failed to restart during an Auto Idle Stop event at a 4-way stop/intersection. When releasing the brake to take my right-of-way, the engine stalled completely. The vehicle became immobilized, the power steering went heavy/stiff, and the brake pedal became difficult to depress. I had to manually cycle the ignition by shifting to "Park" and pressing the "Start" button multiple times to regain power while traffic was waiting. This has occurred twice. What component or system failed or malfunctioned? The Auto Idle Stop (AIS) system and the Starter/Charging System. A service technician recently documented a "slow crank" during routine maintenance, suggesting the battery is unable to handle the restart load. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The vehicle stalled during a right-of-way transition (green light/4-way stop). This created an immediate risk. The loss of power steering and the stiffened brake pedal could have made the vehicle nearly impossible to maneuver manually on an incline during the failure. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed? A dealership technician confirmed a "slow crank" symptom during a multi-point inspection, though they could not reproduce an issue. The battery tested good. Were there any warning lamps or symptoms before failure? Yes. A "slow crank" was noted by a technician when attempting to start my vehicle to check my vehicle mileage. During the stall itself, a red exclamation point warning appeared on the dashboard.

I am submitting this urgent complaint regarding my 2015 Honda Odyssey, equipped with the 3.5L V6 engine referenced in (TSB) 20-023 which acknowledges that the front rocker arm oil control valve (spool valve) gasket may fail and leak engine oil directly onto the alternator located beneath it. This condition can cause alternator contamination, charging system failure, electrical malfunction, and potential fire risk due to oil exposure to electrical components. Despite knowledge of this issue, Honda did not notify vehicle owners and did not initiate a recall. Before the first breakdown occurred, I experienced a frightening and dangerous incident while in traffic. Without any human interference and without my pressing the accelerator, the vehicle suddenly accelerated and moved forward on its own, nearly striking the vehicle in front of me. I had to react immediately to prevent a collision. This unexpected surge was extremely disturbing and appeared to involve an electrical malfunction. Shortly thereafter, the vehicle broke down. After the first breakdown, I replaced the battery. Within approximately one hour of driving again, the vehicle failed again due to alternator failure. I was stranded at night, in darkness, alone, and exposed to active traffic. This created an immediate and foreseeable risk of collision, serious bodily injury, or death. Another car in that area around that time broke down on the highway I was expected to use and was hit by a semi on 95 and the driver of the stopped car was killed. That could have easily been me. A defect that can cause sudden electrical malfunction, unintended vehicle movement, loss of charging capability, vehicle disablement in traffic, and potential fire hazard constitutes a safety-related defect under federal motor vehicle safety standards. I respectfully request that you Initiate a formal investigation Evaluate whether a recall is warranted. Require reimbursement for repair costs Thank you very much.

Vehicle was inspected, Vehicle is leaking fuel, but it's difficult to spot, but I have to put fuel on it daily, TCS goes haywire almost caused me to crash because the TCS sensors are near the tires, and engine crank sensor issues, Vehicle does not do last gear shift, and rear door stopped working.

My wife and I purchased a new 2025 Honda Odyssey Van as it currently has about 11,000 miles and we both have noticed a front end vibration/rattle/noise that can be heard and felt in the steering wheel at varying speeds in the front suspension which leads me to believe as an engineer there are issues with sway bar end links, bad strut mounts, or loose control arm bushings that are especially noticeable over any bumps. This issue could pose a serious safety issues in dealing with failed suspension or steering that could cause a potential wreck or loss of control of a vehicle and result in a product liability suit for all parties involved especially given suspension and steering are considered critical auto parts in nature. The problem has been reproduced with my making an appointment at Watermark Honda located at 3201 Park Ave, Paducah, KY 42001 on November 19th, 2025 with the Master Service Tech Caleb Buchanan and Service Advisor Harley Littrell both driving the vehicle and acknowledging the noise and vibration. I also have any recorded video while driving at 5-10 mph in the parking lot of Watermark Honda that was shared and viewed by Harley Littrell. The vehicle was inspected with some strut bolts and other front end component bolts being torqued down the same day with the issue not being resolved. Harley/Caleb noted that they were dealing with the same issue on another 2025 Honda Odyssey on the lot to be sold and they were trying to address issues. As of follow-up appointment on 12/11/25, Harley noted this van had several front end parts replaced and it still made noise with this van not being able to be sold to the public. I was advised by Harley to contact American Honda and to file this report. See uploaded video below.

The contact owns a 2012 Honda Odyssey equipped with Cooper Tires, Tire Line: CS5 Grand Touring, Tire Size: P235/65/R17, DOT Number: (N/A). The contact stated while driving 70 MPH, the vehicle started to vibrate abnormally. The driver was able to pull over safely and became aware of a blowout of the front passenger’s side tire. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that while driving 70 MPH, there was an abnormal vibration in the steering wheel. The vehicle was taken to a tire center where it was determined that the failure was linked to a busted tire core. The damaged tire and driver's side rear tire were replaced. The contact stated that while continuing to drive, the steering wheel and the vehicle continued to vibrate. The vehicle was taken to a tire center, where it was determined that the driver's side front tire had a shifted radial belt, and a bulge was detected. The tire was replaced. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The vehicle failure mileage was approximately 79,694. The tire mileage was approximately 20,000.

On Saturday, May 24, 2025. I had my foot on the break as I was turning into the driveway of the building. Suddenly the car engine reved and the car acceletated toward the building wall. As this was happening I began to pump on the break and the car only stopped because it it hit the curb. This cause my passenger and me to lunge forward. My passenger hurt their wrist putting their hands on the dash as they braced for impact and I hit my forehead on the stearing wheel. . The airbags did not deploy. My cars front bumper was pushed in at the bottom and out on the right side. Thank God there was no one walking on the side walk,. The car could have crashed iinto a person or the building. There were no warning indicators .There was no police called since no one was seriously injured and the only damage done was to my car. I then carfully and slowly drove the car home and parked it. I had to wait till Tuesday to take the car to the mechanic. He kept it for 2 days and could not find anything wrong. This was very scary and I am afraid the continue driving this car. This had never happenef before. I would like the car checked for any recalls and inspected by the dealer.

The contact stated that while driving over a bump or depression in the roadway, the vehicle was bouncing. There was no warnings light illuminated. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer where the vehicle was diagnosed, and it was determined that the rear shocks and parts of the rear suspension had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that several months prior to the failure, the front shocks and the steering arms were replaced. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure.
