On July 11, 2026, while driving, the vehicle suddenly experienced multiple system failures. The dashboard illuminated with numerous warning lights, including a flashing check engine light, indicating multiple system malfunctions. I have not yet received a diagnosis or confirmation of the failed component(s) from the dealer. No warning lights, messages, or symptoms appeared prior to the sudden failure. My 2026 Honda Passport TrailSport Elite (purchased new May 2025) has repeated, intermittent failures of the electrical system and drive-power (propulsion) function, beginning at ~16,700 miles. Severe symptoms first appeared in May 2026: multiple dashboard warning lights and error messages illuminating at once, and the instrument panel cutting in and out while driving. Sometimes a cascade of warnings precedes a failure; at other times the vehicle loses power or stalls with no warning at all. On July 4, 2026, the vehicle lost all drive power and shut down while I was driving ~75 mph on the highway, creating a substantial risk of a collision and of being struck by surrounding traffic. On four occasions (5/15/26, 5/22/26, 5/31/26, 7/9/26) it stalled immediately after being shifted into reverse. On multiple occasions it failed to start or had no electrical power, stranding me while traveling with my children. Additional failures: the driver's door intermittently will not lock or unlock, the exterior mirrors fail to fold and must be moved by hand, and the seat memory resets without input. Because the failures are intermittent, neither dealer could reproduce the condition on demand. The Waco, TX dealer (6/1/26) could not duplicate the concern and performed no repair. The Lufkin, TX dealer (6/8/26) said it could find nothing wrong, replaced the battery, and the failures continued unchanged. No specific failed component has been identified. The vehicle has been inspected only by Honda's authorized dealers. It has not been inspected by police, insurance, or an independent service center, as no crash has occurred. No crash or injury has occurred, but a vehicle that loses power at highway speed and stalls in reverse creates a substantial crash risk. The vehicle is in my possession and available for inspection upon request, along with video of several failures and dealership repair records.

I drive the car with the engine-idle-at-stop function disengaged. Several times when slowing down, but still moving, the car shifts into park; the AC and radio remain on. I have to press engine start to start the engine. Several other times when already stopped, such as at a red light or in traffic, waiting to make a turn, the engine shuts off and the car shifts into park. I have to press the engine start button to turn the car back on. I am getting honked and hollered at in traffic, and could easily be vulnerable to being rear-ended when my moving car suddently turns off ad stops running (winds up in Park). A non-dealer ran diagnostics and found No History of any error codes, and the system worked when they drove it. The day before the non-dealer had the car, it shut off 2 times in about 2 miles. He said the New battery is fine, the alternator is fine, and they do not know what to troubleshoot. No lights light up prior to the incidents, but they light up momentarily during it: it is the "Charging System Indicator" and the "Malfunction Indicator Lamp" that light up. The new battery is one week old and installed as per the owner's manual and was checked by a 3rd party today. These events have occurred with both the original and new batteries. All of this has been over the past few months, with most incidents - an escalation - the past couple of weeks.

Our 2026 Honda Passport TSE suddenly stalled twice in active traffic intersections in Albuquerque, NM under acceleration and during a left turn, causing a sudden loss of motive power and a severe safety hazard and a potentially life threatening situation. Telemetry logs from an aftermarket GPS device installed in my vehicle captured a catastrophic voltage drop down to 10.886V during the incident, which electrically blinded the ECU and prevented the vehicle from storing a diagnostic trouble code. The vehicle was taken to Garcia Honda in Albuquerque, NM who documented the symptoms ('loss of power on accel,' 'hesitates and jerks') but released the vehicle unfixed because no digital codes were present. 25 Passport Black edition only 27k miles at a stop my vehicle won’t start back up kicks it from D to N will start flashing to put in P. Vehicle will not start back up until I turn off and back on. The second time it did this it wouldn’t even start back up battery light flashing. I try to remember to turn that stop/start button off. Very dangerous. Went to dealership. Says they can’t do nothing unless warning are on at the time of check. 4/24 was the second time this has happened. When I start the passport it’s like it has troubles and not wanting to start. Lights will start flashing braking system and blind spot all the safety feature lights. Something is wrong with these passports.

The part that malfunctioner is the auto start from stop. I was at the Park and XXX light In [XXX] . My car would not start after I got to the stoplight. The auto start did not work. My Fuel pump recall was fixed on 06/17/2021 at 40543 Miles. On 12/8/22 at 56361 miles, my vehicle wouldn’t start and I got the battery replaced with the assumption that it was the battery. On 4/30/25 at 102,298 miles, I got my spark plugs replaced in hopes to resolve excessive cranking/ hard start issues I’ve been having since the recall. To my fault, I should’ve made a bigger complaint on the hard start issues but didn’t think anything of it thinking it’s normal. On 12/30/2025, at 119,186 miles, I went in for a routine maintenance oil change, but replaced my battery based on recommendation also on hopes to resolve excessive cranking issues I’ve been having. On 1/3/2026, my vehicle wouldn’t start when I went out of town. Main reason I took it into service the week before was to make sure I don’t have any issues when I’m out at a foreign place and it did at a sketchy gas station putting my family in danger. On 1/7/2026, my vehicle wouldn’t start again. I took it in to Atlantic Coast Honda on 1/9/26 and they were able to replicate the issue but was told that they couldn’t do anything else. I complained to them that I didn’t feel comfortable driving my family around and also driving to far places for work but was told my vehicle has tested better since it was replicated when I brought it in. On 2/20/26, my vehicle wouldn’t start again. I brought it in on 2/21/26 for them to look at it again. I get a notice on 2/23/26 on the service recommended, and it’s to replace the fuel pump for $1398.71. I told them that I refuse to pay that amount when it was replaced based on a recall, and the part replaced is not even over 100,000 miles. Also the fact that I’ve had issues on starting the vehicle for a while and I’ve committed to replacing the battery twice, changing out the spark plugs in hopes to resolve my vehicle issues. This situation has put me in a bind putting me, my family, and other drivers in danger when I drive a vehicle that might stop working any time.

During a normal drive we came to a stoplight, seconds after stopping, an emissions alert displayed along with transmission and VSA (I think). Upon seeing these codes I began to drive into a gas station and the vehicle barely moved with little power. We were able to park about 40 feet away and the vehicle would not move any further. This sounds similar to the existing recall but this model year is not included. I had to have the vehicle towed.

Fuel pump failure mid-traffic in busy two lane road, unable to start vehicle. The engine sputtered and then halted with all warning lights on dashboard lighting up. Full propulsion of the vehicle ceased while in traffic causing car to be dead on the side of the road until police and tow truck could be dispatched. If this occurred on a busier road or in a 65 mile per hour divided highway, this could have caused a major mukti-vehicle accident and placed me in significant danger.

The contact owns a 2021 Honda Passport. The contact stated that while depressing the accelerator pedal, there was an abnormal sound coming from the vehicle. In addition, the vehicle vibrated abnormally and drove roughly. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed, and determined that the high-pressure fuel pump had failed and needed to be replaced. The dealer suggested that the fuel injector and throttle body needed to be cleaned; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired due to the cost. I am submitting this report regarding a serious safety issue with my 2025 Honda Passport related to the auto stop/start feature. When this feature is enabled, the vehicle frequently struggles to restart smoothly after coming to a stop. The engine often hesitates and sounds as if it may not start at all. On September 26, 2025, the problem escalated into a complete failure. While turning left at an intersection, the auto stop/start feature engaged, shutting off the engine. When I attempted to accelerate, the vehicle failed to restart and became fully disabled in the middle of traffic. This created an immediate and significant safety hazard. Law enforcement was called to the scene, and a tow truck was dispatched. However, due to incorrect information and safety concerns, I did not proceed with the tow. Fortunately, the police were able to jump-start the vehicle, allowing me to drive it directly to the dealership. The dealership confirmed that there is an issue but has been unable to replicate the complete failure. They have performed two battery tests, both of which returned normal results. While they acknowledge the problem, they have not been able to formally diagnose it. I have since learned that similar issues and recalls have been reported for earlier Honda model years, suggesting that this problem may still exist in newer vehicles, including the 2025 Passport. Since the incident, I have been disabling the auto stop/start feature every time I drive in order to avoid being stranded again. However, hesitation during restarts continues to occur daily when the feature is active. Given the severity of the safety risk and the inability of the dealership to diagnose or resolve the issue, I am requesting that Honda conduct a formal investigation into this malfunction and take appropriate corrective action. This issue should be fully addressed under warranty, as it directly affects the safety and reliability of the vehicle.

My car has been stalling and not starting back up once turned off. It does it every almost every instance at startup. I can no longer use the auto start/stop feature on my car due to it stalling a few times in the middle of the road. I had to turn the car off and attempt to turn it back on. There is a recall on the fuel pump and fuel injectors but every dealership I have called stated that there are no available fixes while online they state there are available repairs.

My Passport has shut down 4 times recently while idling at a stop. There is a auto start/stop feature on the car that shuts down the engine at stops until the brake is released. The problem is that it sometimes does not restart after releasing the brake. The first 3 times it happened at an intersection so it was no big deal. The last time, today, it stalled on a highway as soon as I stopped for heavy traffic. The car was automatically put it neutral and it took me about 40-50 seconds to realize what happened and to restart while the lanes next to me started moving at highway speeds. I looked up the problem online and saw a "Honda Idle-Stop Class Action Suit ([XXX])" and found out that it is happening to others as well. [XXX] I am not looking for money but want this to be looked at. I will be taking my vehicle in for repairs at a Honda dealership later this week. At a red light in an intereection the Auto engine idle stopper feature stopped the engine and it failed to power / restart the engine. The cars electral system locked up. Could not restart engine, and could not put car in neutral because engine needs to be on. Had to car battery jumped. Took car to honda dealership after incident. They concluded that the battery and electrical systems passed all diagnostic tests. If this is the case there is a major safety issue with the car.

At speeds above 55 mph, car will make a noise like paper being torn, followed by a loss of throttle response. This lasts for 3 to 5 seconds, then everything returns to normal. This has happened with the cruise control set, or while under foot control. No warning of any kind show up on the dashboard. We have taken our vehicle to the dealership on May 15 2025. They could find nothing after polling the computer or on multiple road trips. This loss of throttle has occurred six times in the last five months. We will keep a written record of these events as they happen, and pray that nobody gets hurt or dies from this.
